I would try the rose color lenses. I really like them for mountain biking when I'm going in and out of the woods.

Cool. Coincidentally I got these yesterday. Before that I've used the Aethon mirrored lenses. The Sledge are nice but rub on my high cheekbones a bit too much for me. So I went ith the Rail. Good video Clint 🙌

I'm a fan of Tifosi. I've own many of the other big name and priced sunglasses. Tifosi delivers with great optics at a fraction of the price. I own 2 pairs of the Seek glasses with Fototec. One for my bike and one in my car. The Fototec works great. I can go for an afternoon ride and come back at night and be protected and comfortable.

Very helpful review, thank you. Your review persuaded me to also order the Rail with Fototec lens. I felt that with a lens this big, a bright lens like the Crystal Blue mirror lens would be overwhelming, whereas the more muted (and versatile) Fototec lens would make more sense. And indeed, that's proved right. It looks and feels good, and on the first two rides it's been terrific. Great coverage and clarity, while feeling light and comfortable enough that I hardly noticed it was on. Fits well under both my helmets. This will probably be my main pair for road and gravel riding during most of the year in the Pacific Northwest. On really bright days I may opt for something darker, and a clear lens for commutes during the 8-9 darker months we have up here!

Very helpful. I'd have been inclined to go for fixed colour. Riding on road in SE London and Kent lanes has me worried the Fototec might be a bit slow to change. I cannot imagine affording the top spec alternatives. 4 of these for the cost of a top brand means I can just about afford to break or lose a pair over a few years. As a pensioner, I can't afford the top brands. I found a local shop that sells them so I'll ride down to Bromley and try them on. Hope they work for me. Otherwise, workwear, eg DeWalt, Englebert Strauss, etc, is often a better buy than bike gear - I have a pair of DeWalt Polaroid shades that are good against flying grit and fit me very well for road cycling

@@cuebj Good. A year-plus on, I'm still a big fan of these Tifosi Rail glasses. And still glad I got the Fototec. All I wrote above still stands. In Seattle, our weather is prob roughly similar to yours. Good luck!

Been waring Tafosi glasses for the last 10 years. I have the Tyrant with the three lens option. I like to have the option to switch out on cloudy or overcast days. Plus it's to have the polarized option as well for water sports or glare suppression. The polar tech is nice too. Tifosi glasses are a great value and functionally just as good as most other big name brands. Also its possible to by replacement lenses or additional lenses with some online retailers. The rail looks like the profile of goggles but I guess that's is the style these days.

Agree on Tifosi value. I’ve been using the Tyrant model for some years, just got the Rail after seeing this video, and I find the Rail so much better. Much better range of vision, especially looking ahead, as one does, esp on a road bike. They look better on my face. And they were so light that I almost forgot I had them on.

I did end up buying a pair. I'm just getting back to training after too long a break and needed a few things. Glasses, the mirror you showed, got mountain shoes, some hybrid pedals for my do-it-all Giant Revolt. BTW if I wanted to get rid of the bulky and unsightly Giant Conduct brake system, what would I need to buy? Just a 105 hydraulic levers and calipers set or would I need a new stem or something else as well?

Honestly, in my experience the word thing about Tifosi glasses are the crappy zippers they put on their hardshell cases, but maybe I've just had bad luck with them. Outside of the annoying zippers, you really cannot easily beat the value for the money. Up until now, I have only had a couple of their 3-lens sets but I certainly have been eyeing their fototec lenses. I am more concerned about them being bright enough when riding at dusk or really low light than about them being dark enough in sunshine. I certainly agree with you about always wearing glasses when I ride.

Hi Clint. Good review, I like the range of uses for the fototec lenses. Do you have any experience the lens clarity of the Tifosi's compared with something like the Oakley Sutras or Rudy Project sunglasses? My eyes tend to be a sensitive to the clarity of the lenses more so than the tint or color. My riding consists mostly of commuting, gravel and some singletrack so I use my glasses basically year round and like you only really want to keep track of one pair. Thanks from Canada.

I got a pair of Sledge Lites for £50 from a local bike shop. Three lenses - grey cat 3, amber cat 2 and clear. The amber lenses are great on a cloudy or rainy day. I wear the Sledge Lites as my everyday glasses, whereas I just couldn't contemplate wearing my Jawbreakers for general use - they look ridiculous. Tifosi are great value for money.

I saw those at adrenaline bike works and I love them . I currently using Oakleys with the primz trail lens and I like them a lot but I found the tifosi to fit better on my face. I’m gonna buy them . But my question is how long does it take for the lens to get darker or lighter depending on the sun?

I've had them about a year, and the fogging up is my major complaint. Most-recently, I tried a pair of Oakley prizm roads and they did not fog as much, but, and it's weird, the Oakleys made me feel like I was higher on my bike, so I returned them, and now looking for something else to try.

Whenever one says “this video” in a video it is an insult to viewers' intelligence. Viewers are well aware we've clicked on this video in full expectation of watching this video, we don't need reminders nor reassurances that we're watching this video. “This video” TWICE IN THE 1st NINE SECONDS. "Comments below"; we effing know where the comments are, you must really think your audience is stupid. Ffs, please stop talking down to us as though we're infants. Also, maybe don't be facing a window and catching the window's reflections when showing reflective items. Cameras, there are techniques, skills. Do you not see your flubs while post processing?
