Hello-. Really appreciated your brake change videos, simple & clear step by step & not all the fluff and stuff. Any input on what I might use to clean off the exposed front exhaust? I’d looked at several things online, but am a bit hesitant/wanted to ask around. I’d read Limeaway or CLR works good. I just am not sure if it’ll hurt any of the other components--? Toss out to your input & expertise. Cheers. M.

Thanks again.

Did you buy some copper grease on the back of the pads? Might be the pad vibrating against the piston.

@MuddySump
@MuddySump 7 жыл бұрын
MrJIMBOISAWESOME the cable has clips keeping it on the brake line. If you want to remove the sensor too from the bracket then there is a torx 30 screw to take out.

Hey man! I've changed the tires and cleaned the brakes. Rear pads are touching the disc and I don't know why! The 14mm bolt was not freely going all the way through. I had to apply some force (less than 27Nm) until the threads reached rear plate. Is that normal? (doesn't seem like it in your video). Pedal was going all the way down, so I thought there was air in the hose. Did the bleeding. There was. But it is exactly as before! Pedal traveling all the way down and pads are touching. Piston is 3mm out only. It seems there is no space for the pads. Could the calliper mount be wrong (14mm bolt or clipper inside?). Help! :-) Could you imagine the issue? Thanks a lot in advance!
@EduardoPetrossi
@EduardoPetrossi 4 жыл бұрын
Got it! Man! the ABS sensor was touching the ABS disc, not the pads! There is a washer (a washer!) that should go between the ABS mounting piece and the body, not between the screw and the ABS mounting piece. Oh my... I hope I can help some other soul with this tiny thing... Cheers!
@MuddySump
@MuddySump 4 жыл бұрын
Sorry, just seen your message. A lot of people put that abs sensor spacer as a washer on the screw
@EduardoPetrossi
@EduardoPetrossi 4 жыл бұрын
@@MuddySump Thanks! Yes, that's what I did. Pads are constantly touching the disc though, making the disc very very hot. The wheel spins slightly less (if I push the pad away with my hand the wheel spins slightly more, but not too much). Piston seems to be working fine. Does that go away after the pads worn out a little? (piston will be closer to the worn out pads, though...). I can see that, when I press the pedal, there is very small angular displacement inwards (0.3mm or so) in the whole calliper mount when pads are press against the disc. Is that normal? Sorry for the free consulting attempt. Cheers!
@MuddySump
@MuddySump 4 жыл бұрын
Eduardo Petrossi what pads have you put in? I’ve seen some aftermarket ones that have been thicker than original ones so not backing off the disc enough until they’re worn a bit
