I played Pebble the week before and I assure you it was like nothing i had ever seen. You literally would watch your ball roll into it and would spend 10 min's looking for what was rt in front of you.

Yeah, I always knew Tiger had both strength and control in spades, but I didn't realize JUST how strong until I saw his physique. His traps, lats, and lumbar muscles are MASSIVE. Reminds me of both Christian Ronaldo and Lewis Hamilton, actually.

Read the latest biography on him by Jeff Benedict. Really delves into his whole life story and gives an excellent glimpse into WHY and HOW his body broke down and what he did to avoid it, ignore it, then finally deal with it and treat it. Amazing read that was the only thing keeping me up at night during long overnight stints as an air traffic controller.

I truly believe this, if Tiger just kept his regular body ; the body he had in the early years of his success, like in 97 thru 2000, or so.. Tigers body began to look like that of a strong safety, around I think about 2005 or 06 and he still had wins left in him , but I don't think he ever reached the majestic heights that he reached in 2000-2002, It seemed that when his body was that of a regular golfer, he was other worldly, when he bulked up his game just never reached those levels like in the beginning.

I watched that clip atleast 10 times. That sound and shot were both phenomenal.

My accuracy with my driver is pretty bad. About 1 in 5 is a good shot. 2 of the bad ones are usually a slice 2 are usually a short one as I clip it. But I swing for the fences every time and it feels worth it for that 1 in 5 where I absolutely annihilate the ball and get around 300 yards carry. The sound it makes and the feeling you get is incredible

Worth every cent to be at the golf and close by to HEAR the noise when a really great player strikes the ball. It is different and a great thing to witness

It was probably a little better than this, since people had to record some of these clips and the recording software was trash going back even 10 years ago. Can’t imagine what it might look like in 20 years though, seems almost inconceivable that the HD today might be laughable to the next generation

We're quickly reaching a ceiling where adding more pixels into the image isn't going to make a noticeable difference in quality. What's probably going to be subject to the most change is no longer image quality but instead how that quality is displayed.

Brian Bethea that’s what I think too. It’s not even the technological limit it’s that we’re approaching the quality that our eyes can differentiate changes in. But in 50 years you’d think the viewing experience would have some radical change (VR maybe?)

Gus Lascola yes. VR and other external stimuli( smell and feel). Possibly holographic video or higher quality 3D. Videos where you control the direction of the story. Who knows. Virtual flight with quadcopters is bad ass. I haven’t experience much VR. But what I’ve seen is pretty impressive.

For the few that have played or just walked Pebble that second shot on number 6 was insane out of that thick rough through the heavy damp air of the beach I just don't think there's many players who could pull that off besides Tiger.

Think it was the pga against Bob May, Tiger pulled a bunker shot from 190 or so think 9 iron . Stuck it inside of Mays 2nd shot. Both 2nd shots were nice but Tigers was great. Bob May played his ass off in that tournament but still couldn't beat Tiger.

Tiger has definitely had to adjust his game to more of a “golfer” nowadays. I didn’t get to watch him live in action, but I loved his young gun mentality where it’s like “lay up? Nah fuck it I’m going to try and hole this from 190 yards out” lol. He had that mindset where he really really wanted to prove he was the best, and he did by destroying everyone with a couple of the most absurd golf shots ever.

@@maninblack9850 right, dealing with the change in the publics' perspective of you would have been rough, but I imagine he got over that in a year tops. The problem was and is his health. Look at the video we just watched. He's like Rob Gronkowski of the patriots. They both pushed their gifts to maximum effort, and that comes with a cost. The price you pay is in the latter part of your career, your health will become a weekly struggle. In a way, they gave up longevity for dominance, and that's what made them legends. Hopefully, they've picked up some tricks along the way so they can continue to play for a while yet. Selfishly I want to watch legendary athletes continue to play as long as they can.

If he hit the ball into the rough he'd take out a pound of sod on his next swing to get the ball to the green. It work most of the time. That violent swing and overall approach to the game didnt lend itself towards having a long career. Same goes for Gronk, he never ran out of bounds, he always gave every play 100 percent effort which drove me nuts. But You ask anybody what golfer or tight end theyd have for a 10 year window and everybody would take Tiger and Gronk.
