It could be that that the OP is talking about when he said Tiger is the reason that most everyone can think about playing golf. Two amazing players

Jack had the better career and remained very consistently great for years. Tiger was the most dominant ever and probably had the most raw talent. Different time periods in golf make it so the comparison isn't fair. But IMO they share the crown.

@Johnathan Dumbrille Jack has more majors, and a lot less competition for them. And he was only marginally better than the rest. Tiger was a million miles ahead of every other player in the world, if they came up against eachother in their primes Jack doesn't win pretty much most times. Shame about his injuries etc

@@aidangriffiths5075 I mean. I was trying to be fair. Because on top of major wins the amount of runner ups Jack has is Incredible. The other argument for Jack is that while modern competition was better overall many of his defining moments had to happen playing against other golf legends. Personally I hold Tiger as my GOAT and I definitely think in their primes Tiger is just better. That being said Jack was the one to be that man first. He gave Tiger something to chase. So I can see others perspectives that put jack on top. At the end of the day... I think fully healthy Tiger would have had 22 or so Majors and probably another 30 tour wins. But history is what it is and I'm just glad I was there to see a legend.

Even if he did, it was because he worked his way to earn it, which anyone else also could have and hence, he had no advantage in those things initially. Now, whether Jack or Tiger is the GOAT is up for debate, and can never really be determined.
