The 155 grain Hornady bthp works well in both my bolt action and my AR308 and its pretty cheap

Great 2 part series on this gun. I'm seriouly considering this tikka for a dual purpose gun. It would be my first centerfire bolt gun for hunting hog, deer ram, coyote, and would like to target shoot it as well. From your review it might be a great choice for these purposes.

no bs! i'm sold on tikka! crazy crazy accuracy, crazy light weight, and lots of bang for your buck right out of the box!! I should get my tikka 22lr t1x soon also and should hopefully have a review soon!

I have the same rifle, my CTR 308win likes the 168gr, however it seems to love the 175gr sierra match king. Fuck cancer! Prayer up.

I love the way you do load development, shooting 6 groups and finding the average, compared to other people that just shoot 1 group for each load and are like "oh look I found 0.4moa load I will stick with this". The Tikka T3x CTR is my first bolt action rifle and im going through the same process trying to figure out if 168gr A-max (now new ELD-M) bullets or 168 sierra matchkings will be the best. What OAL did you end up setting with for this rifle (A-Max, Hornady Match BTHP or Sierra Matchking BTHP)?

thank you my friend... yes, I went thru the same thing with my customer Krieger ruger precision rifle in 6.5 creedmoor… amax, eld's, you name it shot like CRAP but for the 142 smk's!!! shot like a dream... I would personally check out SMK's!! and I usually start about .015" off the lands for load development... hope this helps! :)

How are you not loading 175 SMK’s? Those and Varget is the Wombo Combo. Also I would put a black center dot in the orange so your actually aiming at the same place every time.

Thanks! I might have to give those a whirl! Right now I’m just trying to find a really cheap bullet to shoot at 300 yards to less as I can get hornady match 168 bthp locally for $27 per 100pcs. I love my SMK’s in my 6.5’s!!!

Absolutely no issues with this rifle so far. It’s been a dream inexpensive rifle and I’m 100% sold on tikka

Elfster's Rifles and Reloading I was on the fence between savage 110 tact or tikka tx3 ctr but decided to go with tikka,just gotta find a proper price on web. Thanks though.
