Curious what is the weight on the 308 ? I'm looking at several different models of Tikka and few others.

I just got a 6.5 creedmoor in the roughtech. Is there any difference

@@Rippinsmallies Only difference between 7mm and 6.5mm is the barrel might be slightly shorter and the action is a shorter through due to the bullet length,,7mm will have close to 20-25% more energy which will have a tonne more recoil,,6.5mm is a nice round as it's got better ballistics due to the bullet shape,,

Unfortunately that button is only on the sako the tikka is just a basic two position safety with bolt lock on safe

Only downside of tikka 2 position safety but I deal with it

Here in Sweden you can get a tikka T3x in just about everything.

We love it. We definitely recommend and would buy another one.

The veil has a slightly heavier barrel profile than the normal T3x lite rifles, including the roughtech

They are all very similar, almost identical other the stock detail and some fluting. Tikka on most of the TX3 models don't come with a threaded muzzle, the 3 that you're asking about do come with a muzzle and cap.

I have 2 Tikkas a 6.5 and a 7mm. Both shoot sub moa with Hornady match, sst, and eldx. Also Federal Berger.

200 bucks for threading, 50-100 for muzzle break, 200 for cerakote, 60 for bolt fluting and camo stock. They def don’t give you a deal for these upgrades lol. You gotta pay for em. They’re more of just nice to have features.

The veil has a heavier profile barrel than a standard t3x too. I do see your point though, but as the comments suggest above it’s not too bad for the cost. Good luck

@@jonathanwatson1243 its a literal meme my friend. Made to catch hunters instead of critters. A 270, 3006, 7mm Mag, or 300 Win Mag will do everything the 270wsm will do but better and you can actually find ammo for it

I felt a few Bergaras that were available, but didn’t like them as well. I hear great things about Bergara. This rifle I reviewed is cerakoted abs not stainless steel. The Bergaras I tested didn’t have as smooth a bolt but didn’t get to test much. I look forward to checking them out for my next rifle.

I’m sorry to have to say this but don’t buy a Bergara unless it’s the Premium action. I bought a B 14 HMR before I started reading reviews about the pig metal bolt shrouds. The threads strip out and the firing pin can fly back into your face. Not safe at all. Bergara ran a cover story about one guy hand loading rounds too hot. So as always, I strip new guns down, clean the packing grease out and generally look things over. When I pulled the bolt and pin apart lo and behold my threads were literally smashed down at the 3 and 9 positions! I have yet to fire a shot so the hot handload story is BS. I called them expecting the problem to be resolved. First time they tried telling me it was normal manufacturing to which I called no way. I asked if they made a steel shroud and if so I’d buy it. Remington 700 shrouds are about $25 so I thought I shouldn’t have to repair a new rifle but whatever. They repeatedly said it wasn’t a defect. So I hung up and waited a few weeks then called again. I was hoping I’d get a different person that would admit the problem and help me. This time they said well yes a few were made wrong but they fired that company and got a new one. They told me my rifle wasn’t affected, I told them it was. They mumbled some platitudes and hung up. So now I have a $950 gun I can’t shoot and they won’t acknowledge or fix the problem! After more research I discovered the Premium bolt is made of all steel and has a floating bolt head. So I had to buy a Premium bolt for $275 to be able to use a $950 gun with a safety flaw they won’t admit. Before I discovered this problem I had ordered a B 14 Hunter but canceled the order. I lost my $170 deposit because of the cancellation. So a $950 gun eventually cost me $1420 altogether. Since there are great gun companies out there I figure there’s no reason to buy a Bergara. So if you still want one I’d tell the gun shop owner to take the bolt apart to inspect it before buying. PS. I still haven’t fired a round thru this gun. I just get angry every time I even look at it. $1420 paper weight I guess.

Also, bergara are button rifled Chromoly barrels and Tikka are Cold Hammer Forged. TLDR: A Tikka with the same metal and barrel profile as a bergara will be more rigid and last longer. Any accuracy difference would be debatable. (Harmonics vary, rifling precision, etc.) But the durability/rigidity goes to Tikka. Long version: I've read that a CHF barrel will be stiffer and have more wear resistance compared to a button rifled Barrell made from the same steel. Without having experience or seeing the data 1-1 I can't confirm this 100% but work hardening of steels is a well known and proven phenomenon, that results from repeated impacts on metal (i.e. CHF) so it makes sense to me that the Tikka barrel would last longer and be more rigid at the same barrel profile and steel.
