I think it's deliberate. They mix in things that are obviously true in order to prop up the things that are harder to believe. Sort of a "well if they're right about this, they could be right about that too" kind of thing.

A year free from my ex. After 20 years I found out he doesn't see women as equals. He had a friend who was a girl that he was supporting through a rough time (almost more than he was supporting me) and then he got in trouble with her because he SMELLES HER DIRTY PANTIES AND THEN "USED" THEM! Poor girl thought she had a supportive friend but she had a stalker instead

Omg, that's so gross of him. That poor woman to find out someone you trusted to support you was doing something like that. And poor you being in a relationship with a man like that, glad he's an ex now. I hope you and she can be friends & support for each other over him being a disgusting creep. Honestly, jail! He deserves jail! When you said he doesn't see women as equals, it reminded me of republican dude who was talking in a podcast about how he was shocked when he realised his wife of 10 years had valid opinions!

Just to clarify in case you think this is what to do, you actually look down and only try to view a reactive dog from your periphery. While your pet dog releases oxytocin while making eye contact with you, a reactive dog will see it as a challenge. You look down and walk away slowly + facing sideways

Actually yeah, it’s for wild animals, but it does work on us since we still have our ancient lizard brains in there. I teach high school and that is my technique to prevent the fight from starting when they start bowing up. Figure out the aggressor, step in quietly, in a quiet and absolutely menacing voice say “You need to step back now” and hold unblinking eye contact until they look away. I haven’t lost yet. Our animal section of the brain reads it as dominance and it’s meant to be aggressive. Also, not blinking for that long is extremely uncomfortable. I wish I’d learned that trick my first couple years teaching. So in other words, yet another way to advise men on how to scare women.

@kaylapounds1359

I'm in a Facebook work memes group. About a week ago somebody posted on it something about "men what would you do to keep a woman?" And so many guys are all saying things along the lines of "why should I try? If she wants to leave, she can leave." Completely missing the point. But ever funnier than that, I thought I would inject some female perspective as I only saw one other post by a woman and we both kinda said it the same way; we don't need grand gestures, just be loyal, be an equal partner, etc. And this one guy responded back something about that being entitled! A lot of others laughed at his comment and I responded to him that if he thinks that's entitled then I hope he never dates anybody. But I'm also glad that by the time I got back on to respond a day or so later, there were other females commenting asking the same lines. Like how clueless are these guys to realize it's not about "if your girlfriend wants to leave, what would you do" and more about "how would you work to maintain a relationship?"

Not directly related, but I really love "Guys, Gals, and Non-Binary Pals" as an inclusive and succinct greeting/phrase/way of referring to a group. Yeah, friendship with someone you thought was cool/compatible enough for a relationship can be great. You're allowed to feel upset that they aren't into you romantically but it's also your responsibility to deal with those feelings and not make them the other person's problem. If you can't be friends with them without resenting them for not returning your feelings or hanging around them hoping they'll change their mind if you just put enough kindness coins in, then DON'T. They and you deserve better.

the perpetuation that women are all secretly having other options for their love/sex life is so worrying. i've seen this all my life and it def feels like a projection rather than reality. also, so much of this "advice" is putting so much pressure on predicting others' actions and assuming others' intentions. assuming rarely gets people anywhere in any type of relationship. yes, there are people who play mind games, who manipulate, but it is not your job to allow these things to happen. you can also speak up for yourself. misogyny is still rampant, but hopefully this video and others will help dismantle this "advice" before it perpetuates harm.

I hate this whole "women dont mean what they say" thing. So annoying and actually dangerous. Especially the "no means yes". When my bf and I got together it was right before christmas we talked about Gifts. I said that I dont want a gift, just time together. He asked like 3 times, if I am sure and if its not a sh*t test. We were in our thirties. You would think, at this age you should be able to communicate. I told him to take my word. If I say sth, I mean it.

alot of guy friends dip as soon as they realize they get told no for a relationship cause they see you as only valuable as a girlfriend / sex pretty much when they dont get that even after being a nice guy they get bitter and drop ya they see friendship and kindness as a transaction rather disgusting

27:30 The hoodie with the scent one is kinda weird. Also if somebody try's this with a neurodivergent person they might get a very diffrent reacion if they have sensory issue's. Like a hoodie full of aftershave might be way to much for there senses (I know it would be for me), especially if the aftershave is already really strong anyway and youre spraying it all over youre freaking hoodie then might not be very pleasant at all 😅.

Right! It's an instant turn off for me to be assaulted by unnatural chemicals. I think guys really misinterpret what we mean by their scent. Like dudes, it's the same as the scent you like from us, our pheromones!

13:51 I feel like you were mildly picking the worst possible scenario here. Most young boys/men don’t listen to women unfortunately. And hearing these things from another guy can encourage that behavior. I feel like even if they treat their partner better on their period, isn’t it better that they are learning how to behave in a relationship? Idk I just think it’s better that they are practicing positive behavior than being an Andrew Tate Stan. What I’m saying is we should encourage positive behavior instead of constantly shaming them. - random guy

I'd just like to say, first ever video I've seen of you and I immediately thought "oh I love you" and then your opening line being completely inclusive made me instanlty subsribe. I'm not picky about who I watch but I could count them on both hands. You're so awesome you most likely just kicked a few aside!
@moomoocow73
@moomoocow73 Ай бұрын
This could be entirely wrong, and I'm just connecting dots that don't have a line between them. However, I think that there could be a connection between believing that women like playing hard to get and getting a job. For example, showing that you have other options lined up and that you don't need this job (and overall simply holding yourself in that way) can lead you to being more appreciated in the workplace. As opposed to just doing more work than needed and expecting nothing in return, as that can lead to being an easy target to step on and such. I am wondering if this mindset has been applied to relationships (I have seen it on both sides), and maybe it could even be a subset of men viewing women as a "chore/job" to 'take care of.' Again, I have no idea if any of these thoughts hold any real merit. I am not an expert on relationships (I am aroace), so this could lead to me having a blown up view of the entire situation. So take everything said with a handful of salt. It could also be that I'm tired and shouldn't be trying to explain myself at this hour. That's all, goodbye. Oh, wait. Also, this isn't job advice either. I'm just regurgitating what I've heard others discuss. Yeah, okay. Now this is goodbye. Goodbye
@audreydoyle5268
@audreydoyle5268 Ай бұрын
Ooh, I get what you mean. It's the difference between being desperate and easily made redundant, or portraying oneself as an exclusive, non-expendable asset. A person who knows their worth would recognise that any treatment less than expected would seek other options, whereas someone who feels more boxed in and takes the beggars can't be choosers mentality too far is more likely to be taken advantage of. Both of which are true, and being on the lookout for better opportunities is great job advice, just keep it close to you as a trump card, not as a threat.

Telling men that we actually don't mean the things we say and actually they should do the opposite/"be persistent" also has some really bad implications for consent. That's exactly the kind of mindset that makes men think it's their decision whether or not they need to take a no seriously. Which, in case anyone reading doesn't know better, you always always always take that no seriously. I don't care if you don't think they meant it. If they didn't, then that's their loss, but that is no one's call to make but the person who said no.

I am sorry but wth... [Edit] I want to say about one guy on IG. He was an artist and I followed him, just to check his art. He wrote to me, saying my art is nice too and sth else. I didn't notice that he wrote to me, because I never used IG for messages. When I noticed after week or two, that he wrote to me, he sent me a short, where woman was saying sth like "they don't answer very often, because they are scared they will fall for you". 😅 At first I felt bad, that I didn't notice it, but maaan this short make me cringe

Thought popped up in the last one; some of the others are ick but for more of the ones like this, even if they're "WELL NO SH!T SHERLOCK" kind of tips like comfort people when they're crying, are a positive contrast to the "do what you want and she should just cope to make you happy" kind of toxic messaging you get from the Tate-style bros - so a bit facepalm but also not a bad counter message if it reaches similar demographics. Thoughts?

omg this explains so many things about guys ive dated! but also really made me think about how like emotionally limited they must've been feeling - that's not like a dis or anything either - it's just like after seeing how popular these things are like, im seriously wondering... are guys just taught to fear expressing emotions so much that they genuinely need to be told these kinds of things to understand them? frak! there's no way of phrasing this without it sounding hella sarcastic, but im being 100% real here, im actually concerned that when i was thinking these guys were being ducks, they were just really scared cuz that's all they've ever known? (aaaannnd... now im doing even more emotional labour for my exes, wow, nvm, there really is no winning this, i guess. frak the patriarchy and frak toxic masculinity and frak my stupid exes for not going to therapy ever!)
