I work at an Ulta part time and I recently had a shift where a customer and her mother were both absolutely amazed by my makeup showering me in compliments. (I’m not trying to brag lol) The daughter said my makeup reminded her a lot of you and we bonded over you for a moment. I use a lot of your techniques, so I can see why. I don't understand the goal of the "reverse nose contour" tiktok. The lighter shade on top of the darker shade makes an overall muddy result. It looks like she's covered up a horribly bruised nose. She's so stunning otherwise.

Smitha Deepak recently posted a video called something like "Eyeshadow Hack That Will Blow Your Mind". She mixed eye primer in with eyeshadow, and created an eye "paint". It looks really incredible...i know you don't prefer to react to other MUAs, but this technique i think deserves to be shared. 😊

I don't think you have to be disingenuous or saccharine to be kind and helpful. You can also roast and be straight up about bad habits and techniques without saying/thinking/or insinuating anything toxic or mean at all about someone. Idky people think realistically and professionally criticising poor practises is equivocal to criticising the person themselves/their character or making some sorts mean statement about them. They aren't at all correlated.

Hahahah well I know that the adjustment must be difficult for you & most other people during this pandemic, but... As someone who's always stayed home due to disability? I high key recommend an occasional makeup playtime for no reason! It feels pretty good to pamper yourself, get use of products that might be collecting dust, & to try out techniques for when you're eventually able to go out! My current challenge: winged/graphic eyeliner, lolol

Honestly, I kind of walked away from make up in the past couple of years because of the surge of KZfaq "gurus" doing crap like the TikTok "hacks". I just found myself constantly trying to find tutorials for new, exciting looks to break up me normal routine, and ended up finding myself spending way too much time trying to keep up with whatever hot new trend was going around (freaking BAKING anyone?! Drag queen make up!). Your channel is a breath of fresh air for a 30-something who used to love, love, LOVE make up and lost her infatuation somewhere between Naked 2 and skin so matte you have to take your make up off with acetone and a hair dryer xx.

to anyone who's curious, i think for the concealer hack the reason why the right eye looks bigger is because her natural smile bag is visible. it's actually a pretty common technique in east asian makeup styles to contour the eye in a way that emphasises that bag in order to give the eye a large and round appearance. ironically this tends to give the eye a more droopy puppy-dog apperance instead of a lifted cat look

I'm guessing the reason why your ring finger doesn't apply as much pressure is because it shares the same tendon as your middle finger. (There are no muscles in your fingers, only tendons. The muscles that pull on the tendons to move your fingers are actually in your forearm). You can test this by putting your hand flat on a table or desk with your middle finger folded underneath. It will be impossible to lift your ring finger. This is because by folding your middle finger underneath it is pulling their shared tendon tight. Just thought it might be interesting.

a product I found that is very useful for correcting eye make up are these small or thin tipped q -tips. They are also great for cleaning up nails.

The thing I love about your videos is that a) you are actually helpful. Unlike most tutorials. B ) you always have constructive criticism, and are not attacking people when they do a technique that makes no sense. And thenk you for fully explaining in a way that actually made sense to me how to do the lighting around the eyes.. I was watching so many videos and went what? You literally explained it perfectly for me. And where can I get a misting bottle?

Robert, thank you for steering me in the right direction when it comes to these videos. If it weren’t for you I’d be walking around with a gray nose, a mustache, one small eye (I think lol), and wasting product (I’m beauty on a budget over here so, I know I’m not wanting to waste my stuff!). You’re so kind and you draw people in with your amazing talent, personality, sense of humor and that laugh!! It stinks that it’s necessary, but I LOVE Robert so much more for making polite, professional, & most importantly KINDNESS in communication & how we all treat each other a priority especially when teaching & helping each other to be our best selves rather than belittling someone for an personal ego boost. FYI, I know Robert will forgive my run-on sentence & grammatical errors. 😉💚💚💚 Oh, and my speculation of the #2 clip, the person is saying the light concealer directly under the eye intending to “cover dark circles” will create a highlight effect bringing the under eye forward either accentuating “eye bags” or creating the appearance of puffy under eye area. Maybe?

I think with people leaving negative comments or tags is that you still need to be respectful. That is still a human being on the other side and there is a big difference between constructive criticism and being nasty and disrespectful towards someone. ❤️

y'all might already be aware of this but I found it mindblowing when I first did it. try using tape to get that perfect straight line for eyeliner or eyeshadow. it works every single time.
