Imagine thinking this is totally acceptable and even having the nerve to put things like hashtags such as: “viral”, “acting”, or “Holocaust” to get people to click on it. This makes my insides twist. It would be just the same as someone putting on a fake uniform and pretending to be a Vietnam vet or a marine and talking about real life war stories. Things like this can trigger PTSD and panic attacks to those who actually survived these very raw and real horrors. Those numbers you get on your TikTok or any social media page are baseless and have no meaning in the real world. What *does* have meaning is showing respect for the survivors and their families and this is the exact example of the opposite. Makes me feel sick..

If you’re going to make something about World War Two then do it in a respectful way. Don’t make a tiktok POV saying your a victim of the holocaust. It’s one thing to educate people and talk about what happened and it’s one thing to be disrespectful. It’s disrespectful to the victims who died and the survivors who had to endure that. I find it very disrespectful and disgusting.

Not only is this disgusting but also the 3rd girl got her facts wrong. Those who were going to be gassed were made to take showers with soap first. This was to open the pores on their skin for the gas to be more effective. So not only did she essentially make fun of millions, but this fact shows that she really didn’t care about them. She only cares about how much attention she gets for being a “good” person. This goes for the rest as well.

This is honestly so terrible and disgusting. The holocaust was an extremely painful period of time and to the survivors of the holocaust and the people who passed away in the holocaust this is disrespectful and upsetting. I get some of them could potentially think they’re spreading awareness but this is definitely not the way. I went to the holocaust museum in Washington D.C. a year ago on a school field trip and for the first time in eternity, no in the class was joking around. We were so moved and saddened by all the terrible things we learned about and after completing a walk around the entire museum, no one knew what to say. I hope these people learn some respect. Events like this should not be made fun of in any way. TikTok is honestly such a disappointment sometimes.

@@l9139 if we leave it alone, we will forget about it. And if we forget about it, than it will happen again. And it's not about actual frustration at the mentioning of the Holocaust because it is important that everyone learns about it. It's that people can't believe that this "content" of reenacting dead people is being tolerated, even accepted and liked!

A couple years ago at University I encountered a group that had set up some shoes and were solemnly reading off names of people who were killed in the Holocaust. That is how you honor their memories and maintain awareness; not by playing dress up.
