We stopped selling Dymo when the 550 came out so I havent played with them. Its good to hear the fixes are similar. Thanks.

Hey THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO! I had loaded a roll of QR code labels 25x25mm and they are feeding through but then retracting back halfway and only printing half the qr code. Any help appreciated! This video helped me remove the jammed labels that had wrapped themselves around the roller at the front! Made sure the labels were fed the correct way and that the roll was on tight, with the label lever up against the feed of labels. But is like they slip?!

THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! I purchased a used 450 on eBay. It arrived feeding multiple labels, just as you demonstrated. You have saved me so much aggravation! I purchased a new 550 and it will not run the old Dymo Label V 8.5.4, that is so easy to use with the preloaded templates and allows use of address books. My staff and I were frustrated with the "connect" software. That's why I purchased the used 450. We have two 450's now and can use them with Dymo v 8.5.4 so easily and effectively! Any thoughts on the 550 and it not being compatible with the 8.5.4 software? Seems as tho the "connect" software is a label design package and the 8.5.4 is a label print package.

Happy to help. The problem with the 550 is possibly that the new Dymo range ONLY works with factory dymo labels produced by Dymo. They have added something to their label rolls so that aftermarket labels will not work on their new printers - 550, 5XL, etc. Perhaps the software change is tied in with that - you could try putting a factory label roll in it (like the one that comes with the printer) and see if it is detected then. If not, maybe the 550 is just too new for the old software.

Hey! I have a problem with my dymo labelwriter 450, it works fine, but i cant print anything when i plug it into my computer. I have installed the latest updates and checked the latest drives etc.. but i still get an error about not being able to print.. what can the problem be? Ive tried checking the settings, reebooting the computer and the labelwriter.. thanks for any replies or help!

Could be a bunch of things. Does the printer show up in your windows printer settings? Does it feed one label only when you press the feed button? Does the print test work from windows. When was it last working? What changed that might have stopped it working?

@@Till-Man it shows up in my computer, its feeding one label when i press the button on the printer (but sometimes it doesnt work, weird)

@@Till-Man the print test isnt working at all, it shows error with printing everytime, ive tried clearing everything, uninstall install etc.. ive cleaned it also but nothing so far works. It seems like its working great, except the error messages

@@Till-Man as soon as i press print, the dymo EITHER give no sign at all, but it has happened that it made a sound and pushed out the label ”a little” but no print

Thank you for the hint; I got out two labels that were stuck. But now the roll fails to grip on the label roll and the blue LED doesn't light anymore so it does not respond to the PC. It is a twin printer so the other roll still works..

Sounds like something might be bent inside. The actual printer mechanism itself has lots of plastic and is not very serviceable but you would have to take the machine apart to see if you can spot what might be wrong. Could be new printer time though.

@@Till-Man Yes I suppose there is some damage inside but rather difficult to take apart. I think I can use this machine on the right side (roll) only and buy a new one for my collegue. In that way we don't have to borrow it from eachother regularly.

The printer is just printing what your computer is sending it. I would start with restarting the computer and checking all of your print settings in the pc.

I've done all of this and it's still just printing out lines. It's almost like it's stuck in the test mode.

That sounds like a different issue. Can you send a vid or pic of what the print looks like?

@@Till-Man I watched one of your other videos on cleaning the 450 that worked! I had to lift the black bar and clean underneath that. I had tried EVERYTHING else (cleaned the sensors front and back) and nothing worked. It was lifting the bar and cleaning under that that worked. THANK YOU!!!!

If the lights work but nothing else, and everything is plugged in correctly with no paper stuck in it, then it could be time for a serviceman, which will probably cost more than a new printer.

I havent played with the dymo software for a couple of years since I stopped selling their printers with the 500 series, after they forced everyone into using their factory labels. I would say restarting everything might sort that though. Sounds like a software thing more than a printer issue.
