you inspired me to tackle the humongous pile of empty boxes that had accumulated in our garage that we have been walking around for the past YEAR! 🤦🏻‍♀️ the garage is my husband’s domain and he doesn’t mind walking around but it drives me nuts. finally got the boxes broken down, recycled and trash thrown. what a relief!

I finally got my side of our garage organized. This video inspired me to get my husband to get his side organized. I can't do it. He's a professional musician and has so much equipment stored on his side. When we downsized to our current condo he bought some heavy duty shelves to store is equipment. Well those shelves are full of loads of junk plus some equipment. And his equipment is all over the floor of the garage. It's going to be a huge job but I told him a while back that I would help him. And then when he's too overwhelmed we can continue the next day until we get it done. He's busy this afternoon so I'm going to get him to pick a date to start. We'll see...I'll keep you updated. This video definitely needs to be watched over and over to keep up my motivation when he gets grumpy while organizing ❤💚💜💜💛

Labeling & making sure you can see what all you have, is the key to organizing!!!! If I can't see it, I forget I have it!

I totally agree that you do not need to buy container store products to organize. Lots of hype right now with the home edit which is very cool but so not necessary to spend that much money to get the same result! Thanks for this video! Super inspired to go tackle my garage now 😘

Ashley, I had some throw pillows loose in my garage and with everything floating around in the air they got ruined. Have you ever thought of using the clear bags that you keep that bedding comes in to store your throw pillows to protect them? I don't want those beautiful pillows to get ruined before you're even able to use them. 💜

Made me miss our garage. When we downsized we went into a gated community that only has a small storage area for each home. It’s one of the downfalls. You guys did an awesome job on this.

🛠 you made me to it!!!! Garage is cleaned. I spent a little to get another shelf that has been desperately needed for 5 years!!!!!! I’m going to get one more shelving unit that has the wood inserts that make the shelves. That way I can leave those out and make a way to store our tents and chairs and they won’t fall over. And all the other camping stuff is already in bins so I can stack those on the upper shelves.

That significant other of yours is a keeper. He is not afraid to get his hands dirty.

Now I wish I had a garage to organize! *cries in apartment* 😭😭

Oh I wish we would straighten up our garage. Our garage is such a mess. My husband is not receptive to me organizing or arranging anything. He has taken several trips to dump & Goodwill but they were things we needed like Christmas decorations, my craft items, etc. You & your family did an awesome job.

Ashley you and Chase will get a kick out of this one with Grumpy. We don’t have a garage, we have a back porch that is enclosed and after 37 years has become a catch all over time. Poor Grumps gets in one of his moods and starts “organizing” , which only lasts a few weeks. Today he came home early and asked if I watched the”show”? He wanted to watch it because he saw on Instagram it was about organizing garages. When did he start this instagram and Vacuum show obsession? I blame myself. Shaking my head and can’t close my mouth in Savannah and sending good thoughts to y’all!

Love the doors in your garage ( the closet) I've never seen a garage with a closet here where I live. I have my things in bins they have red lids , it does make life so much easier. I invested in them with the metal and wood shelves from Costco 18 years ago. Best thing I ever did for my garage 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼🙋🏻😜😜😜

I wish I could do this. There's just no way. My husband is a mechanic by trade and the amount of tools, welder, tanks, ect. is just too much. I would be nervous to even try. At least $40,000 in tools..not including his tool box $20,000. We have an agreement. Both garages are his and the house is mine. He has big mud trucks, motorcycle, boat & a few other big toys ....but the camper is mine😊

A great video i love seeing organization videos the motivate me to get things started a better tips i also love using the plastic drawers in a lot of spaces even in my pantry to store plastic and paper plates ect , seeing how you organized your office i started to work on mine today and it feels good to have every thing clean and organized

This reminds me that I need to get some organization cases for my nails, screws etc. I have them stored in jars mixed and those stored in various tool bags.

We just did our basement and it looks so much nicer! It went from loath to love. The walls are great as well as to add more storage. Looks great! I just filmed a garage clean out myself! it took me 3 days because I didn’t have any help. I’m a single mom and I have no idea how I accumulated so much stuff! It’s so nice to have that extra space.

i live in an apartment so i don’t have a garage but i do have a storage space in the basement. ugh. it needs MAJOR decluttering and organizing. i have been procrastinating for years because there are many sentimental things, like keepsakes, photos (with negatives) photo albums, souvenirs from trips, kindergarten tracking tools, children’s books, cd’s, grad school work… i will have a hard time making decisions about what to get rid of. i know it’s just a matter of taking a day and just DOING it. it’s a small space, so it will be difficult. and it shares space with other peoples storage units, so i can’t really leave stuff out. 😩

I would put those pillows in an extra large vacuum bag. It would take up less space and keep them clean.
