There will never be another Tim, everyone that was ever in the military knows a guy just like ensign Parker. We had an ensign on our ship and we started giving him the first name DYNAMITE instead of Mr. because every time he was in charge everything that could possibly go wrong did. Tim the master of physical comedy, if you can't laugh at him you have no sense of humor. You will be missed, thanks for making me laugh when I really needed to.

There wouldn't have been a McHales Navy without him. One of the funniest shows in history. Harvey Korman once said many of his gags on the Carol Burnette show would have fallin flat without him. In my mind most of the stuff he did wouldn't have been funny if another actor did it.

R.I.P. Mr. Conway. In the late 1960s, I got to tour Universal Studios (....I was 13 or 14 at the time )...and I remember the PT73 moored at the dock. I think the big river boat from the movie 'Showboat' was nearby. The strip of trees you see in the background.....on the far side of the lagoon.....was also used for some of the old Tarzan movies. Seeing George Kennedy in a couple of these shots, also reminds me that 'Airport' must have been in theaters that year. The tour tram took us thru a building that housed a cutaway of 1/2 of the big jet's fuselage. There was a promotional painting on the side of another large building celebrating the movie.....& our guide walked us into Dean Martin's dressing room. Back then, the tour lasted for hours, with many stops along the way.....to walk thru sets, and the guides explained HOW all of the stuff was done. I returned for a second time in the late 90s......but sadly, the tram tour lasted only about 30 minutes.....and the tour guide didn't know ANYTHING about film history. NO stops along the way either. I really wanted to rip the microphone away from him, and tell the other tourists what I remembered from 30 years earlier. They turned that place from a working studio, into nothing more than an amusement park.

I was born in 1960 so I only knew him from Carol Burnett but still not well enough for being so young. I remember he started his own show but didn't find it as funny. I wanted it to be about him, not the dancers, etc. After his death I started watching his clips from Carol Burnett repeatedly. The old man is the best. And the Dentist is the funniest. I got to watch Tim perform live on the last season of Coach. If I remember correctly, Jerry Van Dyke had already left the show so they brought Tim in for a 3 episode ark to generally smash things. While touring Hollywood, I was offered free tickets to see the taping of Coach. I was not a fan of the show, but I am a huge fan of television in general. So why not go see a show being taped live? Naturally I went. Other shows that were more popular had waiting lists and you still had to buy tickets. But for the shows who's audiences were waning, there were reverse scalpers; guys who walked the tourist spots offering tickets for free. Brilliant idea because it made sure to fill the studio audiences. So anyway, when the tickets were offered, I had no idea I would see Tim Conway live. It was such a surprise.
