They are other great big man with superb athleticism and offensive skills such as cousins and griffin. They marched up TD while TD was no longer in his primes and they cannot even beat TD down. Stoudemire was good because of Nash. TD was the whole system just by himself

Andre Figueiredo oh yeah. The league rigged the playoffs so that a small market team in San Antonio could win the championship and sweep one of their iconic players (LeBron) in the finals... yep, that’s a great marketing strategy and they obviously have money in mind😂.

I agree Amare is a hard matchup for Duncan, he's athletic and fast, can shoot jumpers near 18", and jump high. But you can see in this game, there's just no one could stop Duncan...Down by 16 points and Duncan put valiant effort to score 40 to bring them back. Just think how many times Timmy has saved the Spurs, that's insane.

100 percent spurs fan here, but no lie that suns team scared us. If yall had kept Shawn Marion and run it back one more year I don't think anyone could have beat that team. I love Shaq but it wasn't the right move. As spurs fans there were only a few teams that we looked at and thought they might beat us. Kobe/Shaq- Lakers, Amare/Marion/Nash- Suns, Durant/Westbrook/Harden- Thunder. End of list. Honestly didn't think the Warriors or Clippers had it in them to beat us at full health. And until the Heatles the east was a joke

I just don’t understand why that game-tying three by Timmy doesn’t get more recognition as the amazing Playoff moment that it was. Sure, one could argue there wasn’t a ton at stake here - it being Game 1 of a first round matchup - but I remember watching this game live; it was only my second year watching the NBA and I knew Tim Duncan hitting a 3 was a huge fucking deal. Shaq wasn't the big franchise player anymore and started going from team to team so his market value diminished considerably, I remember in that series (probably this game) he steps on Duncan's foot which he loved to do to Robinson to trip him and gets called for the foul and he has the most "are you really calling that" face he's ever had. That was the NBA's way of telling him he was from then on below Duncan and other superstars in the league.

Tims post game was beautiful, this whole game he gives u an assortment of moves, its weird when u compare it to today, where KAT struggles to score over guys 6 inches smaller than he is, where is the sophistication of moves

People don't understand how much of a beast amare was in his prime, had he played in today's game he would be a 300 million dollar player, but Duncan is already best power forward ever, but once he started making his free throws and hitting game tying threes, it's a wrap for anyone

Oof,everybody in the comments comparing a SG Kobe to a PF Duncan, like it even is the same thing, smfh.Give it a rest.Completely different players, completely different impact on the floor.Basketball's a fucking team game,it's not boxing. Both players were great and iconic, both have won championships and MVP's,they're both well accomplished and team-lifers and they're on equal level.Noone's better than the other, you ask them they'll tell you the same.
