Holdovers and offsets are absolutely critical when understanding your point of aim and point of impact. You MUST KNOW YOUR personal holdover and offset. #sheepdogresponse

About Sheepdog Response:
Sheepdog Response was founded by Green Beret, Special Forces, Sniper, and former top 5 UFC Middleweight, Tim Kennedy. Tim was also the co-star of Hunting Hitler on the History Channel, and more recently, Hard To Kill, on the Discovery Channel.
People face threats of violence every day, ranging from large-scale terrorism to one-on-one assaults. Most people are unprepared, unequipped, and untrained to respond effectively. This weakness in the flock allows the wolves to attack with great ease and success.
The answer is not more laws. The wolves don’t follow them. We must give the good guys the tools they need to effectively respond to violence. The more Sheepdogs we can train to be truly ready to respond to a mass shooting, terrorist attack, violent mugging or home invasion, the better the chances are that the bad guys will get what they deserve and the good guys will survive. Most people sign up for martial arts or weapons training expecting to learn realistic self-defense, and few get it…
We have developed a curriculum that addresses the skills you need to successfully respond to threats

I’ve never heard “holdover” used to explain making sure your barrel is clearing an object. We were just taught to always double check for that.... I’ve always been taught that “holdover” is used as your ballistic drop for certain distances....such as, “Hey, what’s your holdover for 300 yards...?” (Assuming you didn’t dial up the holdover using your scope turrets) Me: “my holdover was 1.5 Mils...” Great video though! 😎

My 1× prism scope has a arrow with a circle, and BRC(bullet RISE comp) holds for 5, 10, 15, 25 and a 50/200 yard zero

It seems weird that the shots were 4" low at that close distance. It seems like a lot of tactical theatrics to me with all the wrong words, horrible examples, and loose explanations. There are much more effective and accurate ways to explain the concepts associated with the AR and the height over bore offset and how they apply. Who, other than the LA SWAT cops use a 10 yard zero on an AR? That is insane and very unsafe in a tactical situation for law enforcement. The bullets would launch into orbit.

What are you talking about, he never said anyone had a 10 yard zero. He said a 10yd zero would have a different holdover than a 25yd zero, he was just explaining that there will be a holdover difference if your zero is different. He also said he has a 25 yd zero which means anything under 25 meters you will have to use a hold over because of the height over bore difference. He explained it perfectly fine. How does it seem weird that the shots were low 4”? That’s what the difference in his optic and his barrel was, that’s beyond normal.

@@James_Edward59 I'm trying to wrap my mind around zeroing red dot. I never heard anyone explain hold over concept. For the first time it makes sense.
