This Is A Crackin Solo Camping Trip on the Murray River .

Күн бұрынI sure discovered the magic of solo camping on the Murray River with this trip , coupled with some good old bush cooking.
The bird sounds and the tranquil sights of the Murray River flowing past, made this solo camping trip one of my most relaxed camping trips yet.
I left home early that morning to arrive at the Murray River just outside the town of Robinvale, in Victoria.
Starting the morning with one of my home made meat pies, while enjoying the peace and quiet of my surrounds.
I have camped in so many places around the Victorian High Country, this solo camping trip on the Murray River was a very nice change.
I will be looking for a lot more locations to set up camp along the Murray River.
[ Directions to this stunning location is - Google Pump Rd, Robinvale. Follow Pump Road to the Levy Bank which is about 500 meters. , turn left and follow the track towards the Murray River. Track goes left and right at the river. I went left to this amazing camping spot on the river. ]

Thanks for sharing Tim, great video, love these cooking camping vlogs, the only thing you keep forgetting is to put pure butter on your Turkish bread before the bacon and eggs. Pure Butter is so nutritious and adds an extra dimension in taste.

I've spent that many nights up the Murray mate, geez, lost count. Normally off the Picola Gulf track stopping off in Nathalia on the way for a pie and coffee. I'm 35 minutes away from door to shore. Been up there in Robinvale many times, last time the heavens opened and set in for 13 hours of heavy rain, I had to decamp and take the handbrake and adventure to Willow Bend Camp Ground over the border there in Wentworth, took a cheap cabin as the swags did not cut it in those winds and rain lol. You made a cracking chill to the max video with this one cobber. No better spot. Food was ace also. cheers mate.

@@timbates4wdadventures I noticed there's a few more subtle camera and editing techniques uses (or I possibly haven't noticed them before). Like when your walking along the river and the POV shots. Small details but it really makes it that bit more immersive.

I hear you mate. I've got 6 months of recovery post op. We are not in lockdown up here in Northern Vic but its going to be tough not getting out there. Another cracking adventure. Maybe you should sell those pies, how about Baties Trucking Good Pies...... l have spent a bit of time on the Murray, great spot. Just a friendly tip be very careful camping under Red Gums they have a habit of dropping limbs. That big one where you had your frothy has fresh bark tear a sign of limb drop. l and many others would hate to lose you, where would we get our solo camping/4WD fix.... G'day Ross, Yeah mate, getting away on your during these crazy times we live in, is such a great way to go camping. My camping setup is very basic mate, but there's nothing im wishing i had. I cook amazing simple meals with the gear i have, just works really well for me. Same here mate, once lock down is over i will be heading back up that way i think. Takes me back to when the kids were young (20 years ago, lol). We had a couple of weeks almost exactly where you are, every Christmas for 5 years until we headed north to Qld. The kids still talk about it If COVID ever finishes I am going up there for a holiday now I am back in gods country, Victoria Thanks for reminding me

Looks like you where lucky to get to where you were. The River is very high. That’s what the system needs so all those backwater areas get a good drink, native fish breed in that environment. And it feeds the River Redgums If so called Conservation groups understood that, instead of calling a small rise in water level in the system as an environmental flow always beats me. A Bushie. Nice quiet spot, didn't hear one wake boat doof doof music while they throw a wash that smash's the crap out the banks. I live on the river and covid lock down in the city has been kind of nice up here.

Another great video here Tim. The Murray is big but l did get very familiar with the section in Tocumwal. I lived in a caravan park there for 3 years and it was the most incredibly peaceful and beautiful 3 years of my life. The only thing l could have asked for was to have met a partner there so l could have shared the experience with her. It is an amazing experience to wake up day after day without any worries or concerns. Whenever l need to slow down and relax l always have this experience to fall back on as a reminder of how life can be. Thank you Tim for sharing with us. Jason in lockdown Victoria.

I hear ya, South Australia between local councils the greeny's and parks and wild life. They have fenced that much land off and forced people in to paid campsites for that very reason. The cost of cleaning up after the few who leave there trash behind and rip up the bush and tracks thinking they are 4wd champs. Hard pressed to find a quiet spot on the river down here with out a steady stream of wank boats playing doof doof while they make a huge wash towing there fat hairy mate on a knee board who can't even get over the wash let alone attempt a trick, but still they pump boat full throw the biggest wake they can up and down all day.
