So, what campfire cooking equipment do i use in my camp kitchen?
This is my camp kitchen set up that i have been cooking on the campfire for many years.
The campfire cooking equipment in my camp kitchen, is pretty simple gear. I show you my best 7 items that i use for cooking on the campfire.
Campfire cooking is a big part about camping in the bush and having the right equipment can make things easy for cooking up the meals that you enjoy.
The campfire equipment that i use allows me to cook the same meals that i would at home, while out in the bush.
You can cook what ever you like on the campfire, it's only your imagination that will potentially hold you back.
I really enjoy cooking with my cast iron fry pan and cast iron camp oven. I find cooking with cast iron is so easy to use on the campfire, and there's nothing that you cant cook in both of those pieces of cast iron campfire cooking equipment.
My old toasted sandwich maker is over 20 years old, it's totally endless as to what you can cook on the campfire with one of those.
Billy's how good are they. Very old school but they still work the same as any of my saucepans from my kitchen at home.
While out in the bush camping, i can cook the same meals that i do in my kitchen at home.
But i would much rather be using my camp kitchen set up any day.
What would be your favourite piece of campfire cooking equipment that you use while out camping in the bush?

If anybody is watching and thinking about buying a camp oven, you absolutely should. I thought it might be too much hassle and difficult to cook properly. I’ve done beautiful juicy chicken and fantastic beef joints, all without fuss. I love using mine - especially with a few beers or a glass of red.

Hi Tim, many thanks for all the great videos. I have been camping since my early teens and still have some of my original gear that I still use including a round Jaffel iron. A lot of my camping in Z.A. was done by motorbike so my gear had to be light-weight but now I'm in the UK I use my 4X4 a lot so have invested in a large cast iron frying pan and a camp oven. I do have a Z.A. 'potjie' which is like a small witches cauldron and am used to cooking in it which is similar to the camp oven . Thanks for all the tips and have a great festive season.

I am a Boiler Maker by trade, so I have a few goodies to, I made my stuff myself, I have a Stainless bucket like yours, but I rolled the stainless, and welded it up, I have long stands that you dump on the fire, put all your pots, fry pans on them, I open the tinned veggie's slightly, peel the wrapper off, and place on the stand, one has fold up legs, on the other one, has fixed stainless legs, with foot grating, heavy duty mesh on the longer one. A lot of people to feed, when we go away, I have five kids myself, plus the Grandchildren, so it adds up. For the meat, I dig a hole on the side of the fire, and Criss Cross the foil about a dozen times, put the meat on the coals after they have cooled a bit, and put some on top as well. the meat we use is chickens, lamb, and Italian sausages for lunch, from the local butcher,he should get a medal for them, Chevaps Croation Sausage to, change the coals in an hour and a half dig the meat out and redo the coals, takes about 3 hours to cook slowly, no rush. Every Saturday night when we go away we have Souvlakis, Gerry's Pittes are the best, I havent had any complaints so that's the main thing.

I’ve got most of that gear too. I’ve got3 camp ovens all different sizes, but always take the large one. The others are when I do longer trips. Fold up BBQ plate I picked up at a swap meet for $10 and was covered in rust and spider webs, first use threw on fire with a bot of a clean up and oil and good as new. Kettle billy the same just had to replace plastic lid handle with a metal hook. And a double and a single jaffle iron. Also a home made tripod out of old tent poles and wire and a length of chain with a hook. All my stuff would be 30 years + and still in great nick. Great video 🔥🍻🥓
