Excellent video 👍👍👍👍80w 90 gear oil is such a mess to work with in the cold it's nice to get it inside where it's warm to work on it.The factory never put a spot to get to the plugs very easily Tree Farmer is the same way too best I know that you drain the oils in the belly pans and let it lube the woods while you work. My John Deere skidder has access plugs and covers to get the oil caught in a pail or tub.

I brazed a pipe fitting on an empty refrigerant tank. Then put a quarter turn valve in the fitting with a hose barb. When I change fluids, I pull a vacuum on the tank, put a hose on the hose barb, and it the other end in the fluid that needs removed. I made this for oil changes on an inboard boat motor. I was skeptical of how well it would work. I’ve done three oil changes with it so far. 2 of the 3 times, not a drop of oil came out of the oil pan after removing the drain plug. The one time that oil came out, it was just a few drips.

Just an idea for you four a shifting boot I think one of the CV axle boot covers like on one of my four wheelers would probably work they're pretty cheap if you order them on the Internet as in about seven to ten dollars with the clamps just an idea for you to keep water out of the transmission on the timberjack log skidder 👍👍👍👍

E-Bay has a gearshift boot that fits the NP540 for $20 + shipping, check it out. I would have bought and shipped it to you,,, but Minnesota is a big place. LOL

Yea Rick i buy 80w90 in bulk i normally bring my own jugs and get them filled its so much cheaper

According to the casting number that's a New Process 540 5 speed transmission!

Hi Rick I have ice in transmission took the top cover of. I cleaned the oil as best I can and I have f...n ice in the bottom do you think salt would hurt the inside?

Do not salt the inside of the transmission. I'd tarp it and get a torpedo heater going to thaw and drain it out. Salt will make you problems for a lifetime.
