Do you ever read something on a bag of coffee and wonder what it means but feel too awkward to ask? No need to worry - we've put together this video to go over some Coffee Terminology with you!
Specialty coffee involves a lot of specific wording to describe anything from where the coffee is grown to how it's been grown.
In this video, Griffin walks us through some of the terminology that you may see on bags of Timbertrain Coffee, including different processes, altitude, varietals origins and more!

Great video! Love the fact that higher altitude = more acidic/ fruity. That’s helpful! I take milk in my drip, but usually go for espresso over drip :)

I love adding a splash of milk or oat milk in my brewed coffee. The Hario V60 seems like such a delightful set to make coffee with. I've always loved Timbertrain's espresso beans! Bought your beans many times. You recently changed up your choice of beans in your Calibre espresso blend...gotta say it used to be better! Great video. Never learned about different Varieties!

Awesome! Thanks for the info. Hard to believe I wasn't even a coffee drinker until my late 20s (a union strike that spanned two Canadian winters changed all that haha... coffee was one of the only things that kept us sane out on the picket line!)!

Just black coffee for me please =) Thanks for the video! If there's gonna be another part to it in future, just as an idea - it'd be interesting to learn even more about processing and fermentation. For example, how different coffee farmers decide on which way to process their beans, why it seems that some regions have favourite ways, or what could be different if some specific beans are processed or fermented differently.

It was very informative and very easily understand. I drink my coffee always black because this way I can experience coffee. Milk, cream, sugar etc will destroy coffee.

I like milk and sugar in my coffee usually. Sometimes I like seasonal creamers. Recently decided I want to up my coffee game. Get something nicer than folgers 😅 see what it's all about

Personally, I'm usually either a splash of oat milk or nothing at all in my coffee. Been loving this channel so far, keep up the great content! Very informative mix of things from specific coffees to brewing methods. Griffin is also just awesome on camera, love his energy.

For 99% of the cups I drink, which are typically light-roasted single origins (or even blends), I take my coffee black. The only exception is if I end up being served dark roast by soemone else (i.e., not by choice), then I'll usually add cream (and sometimes sugar). And when I have the rare treat of Ipoh white or Vietnamese coffee, then condensed milk is mandatory!

I'm actually new to drip coffee! I used to like adding coconut milk because I'm lactose intolerant but lately I've been trying it black! I feel like I get a better idea or profile of what the actual coffee is supposed to taste like.

IMO, good drip coffee should only be drank black.. However I respect(ish) those who would tarnish the taste with milk or sweetener.

If I pay more than $3.50 for a coffee I drink it black. If it’s less than that I put a bit of 1/2 and 1/2 in it.
