I love this video. He speaks about things that most of us can relate to or are sttruglling with. He's real and not fake about the subjects he talks about. I'm 22 and I've had my ups and downs since turning 18. I was doing engineering at 18 and a paralegal program, but I kept having so many issues with my PC and money. I didn't get a job until I was 20 and I couldn't drive until I was 20. I come from a poor famliy and it's been hard these past years. I'm currently working on my paralegal degree and then going back to engineering, finally. When I was a teen got trapped in some of these things that he has talked about and I'm still working on some of them, but I've learned a lot and have grown up. I think most of us who watched this video can relate to it and I hope that everyone has grown or is growing to become a better version of themselves. From what I've learned so far is that you need goals and you need to be commited to them. Porn is nothing but a bottomless pit that will steal your life and happiness away if you don't get some help. Honestly, it's very hard to get away from it but I think that one of the main reasons a lot of people get trapped in it is beacuse it they're bored or thye're not doing anyting. Get out and excersise and learn something new, even if you have a degree already. Also, don't waste your time and energy on fake people and people who just want to use you. Also, stay away from social media as that is another trap and is just a waste of your time. In the end, set goals, keep 1 or 2 close friends (real friends), stay away from social media, and if you're addiceted to porn, get some help. I know it's embarrasing to talk about but it will feel amazing once you get away from it and see how much time you have and energy.

I was always really bad with #7, I always hated how I looked, my mindset etc and I realized that I was the only person who got me to that spot. Freeing myself from that mentality made me so much better and brought my life to a positive, outward focus instead of a narrow inward view. It was really tough, for me it was totally the hardest for me on this list but it has done wonders. I love these videos!

I never commented on your videos before, but point number 7 with the extreme accountability is one of my main tricks to get my focus back. Nobody ever said the same or agreed with me on that, so glad somebody thinks the same. Maybe great minds think alike. It got me from getting rejected from my dream company with 19 to getting an internship there that's beyond everything I could imagine there 4 years later, absolut murderous trick. Keep up the good work.

You are the most real, down to earth, realistic KZfaqr I have watched who actually gives relatable personal scenarios and does not act like they just above everyone else but you actually share how you improved personally and then simply share that with viewers. 90% of all these self help gurus on KZfaq portray themselves to be the exception, like their lives are now perfect yet that isn’t the case for sure

I don't really comment on videos ever, but I feel like this was made for me. Tim, I've been following your videos for a while now, and I am the younger brother you're talking about. I'm 22 years old, just graduated from college, and just moved to a new town for a new job. I've been trying to settle in and get comfortable, but I just keep seeing old patterns come up. I'm ready to take this new season of life and get the most out of it I possibly can, and these 7 steps are exactly what I needed. while not exactly nothing I haven't heard before, there's nothing like the algorithm recommending this for me in this moment. there are no coincidences in life, and this is the push I needed to really get my crap together and live life by design. you probably won't see this, but thank you. I thank God that you were passionate enough to make this. I really appreciate it. Even in your vulnerability to talk about porn (and it being the first point) was a sign that I don't need it, and there is so much more out of life than temporary fixes. I am ready to try something different.

Tim Dessiant Thank you for sharing your knowledge, wisdom and life lessons with the KZfaq community. I wholeheartedly appreciated this video as I am currently a full time student in college struggling trying to figure out what’s for me and what’s not for me. I’m 27yrs old and even at my age I feel like I’m so far behind but after watching this I realized if I want to become the man I envisioned myself to be I have to put down unnecessary habits, look away from the things causing me unnecessary stress and thrive for the future I want. Great video. Points 4 and 5 were the best for me. I think there’s too much pressure for people to get up at 5am because we’re being made to feel we’re not getting “a head start on the day” and carpe diem and all that. It was great to hear you say that there is no difference to the amount of hours you sleep - it’s just choosing them at different times to suit you. I’m not a morning person whatsoever and struggle to get out of bed before 9, but wide awake in the evenings. Thanks for this Tim, was great validation.

Good luck! But I hope you don't become reliant on motivation, which is an easy trap to fall into when YT mass-recommends self help videos. It's good for providing the initial push, but it comes and goes, and has led many to go through "cycles" of improvement and crashing. Instead note down the tips these videos provide on paper, and implement one or two habits at a time slowly in small, incremental steps to help build discipline. You'll realize a couple months down the line that with discipline, you do that habit consistently whether you're motivated or not and will be less prone to burnout. I hope you're making some progress now and continue to do so :)

Just to start this, I have not hit my twenties yet, I think I adopted some things you said quite naturally, but for me some of them act negatively. I set myself clear goals, but because I don't want to chase after big goals I only pursue small goals, the massive action taking is in turn countered by taking little action to achieve small goals. The extreme accountability is also hard-wired into my brain, I want to take responsibility and accountability for all my actions which in turn leads me to be very cautious and try not to take on any risk so it makes it harder to fail. I'm in a critical stage in my life right now, where I'm trying to figure out what I want to do in my future, it's now that I have to deliver good grades, find out what I'm passionate about and how to make my passion work for me. I'm really engaged in language learning since a few years (I mean English isn't my first language, I'm studying Japanese since about 2.5 years and I've also started learning Spanish since like half a year). Recently I've also come into contact with Buddhism, which greatly lead me to questioning my ethics and moral compass and in turn made me a more conscious person as a whole. Thank you for your advice, I love it when I can get genuine advice from someone that has more life-experience than I have.

I love loveddd this video! I've watched so many "habits" videos, but really appreciated hearing your perspective. I can especially relate to the sleeping one as a night-owl who's also tried to be an early riser! Thanks for your transparency, Tim :)

Great video tim, you have influenced my style a lot but this is probably the most important video you've made. So many people especially kids my age are becoming addicted to porn or adult content even when I try to convince them to stay away from it.

I just went through a beak up last month that showed me how immature I really am. Over the course of a month this vide has really changed my life for the better. I’m heading in a new positive direction in my life and it’s because of my new found discipline

Here to remind all the disabled folks here that it’s okay to chill out. You are not lazy. Your personal version of success is just as valid as this guy’s. The goal for us is to find a sustainable way to continue surviving and not hit burnout. Sending love to you ❤

I’m gonna comment on this right now so I can come back to it in 6 months and see where I’m at. Extremely inspirational! Wanted to skip the gym as I laid here watching this and now I’m on my way to the gym.

This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my KZfaq channel 2 months ago about self development. Now I have 196 subs and almost 82 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I couldn’t have learned without getting started in the 1st place.
