I'm just discovering you and your content and I can't be more thrilled about the timing of this. After so many "attempts" at online business, I'm confident that the time is now. All those mistakes are knowledge in the bank and I love the idea of putting it all together alongside a group of my peers! This is the first time I've sat down learning these concepts with someone who wasn't 20+ years younger than I am. So refreshing. Looking forward to learning a lot more about this Grey Wave and I'm ready to ride it!

Steve, I couldn't agree more. You are doing wonderful work. The world is moving into "all hands on deck" moment, so we can't afford discard hard-earned wisdom right when the world needs it the most! Thanks for your wonderful advice!

Yes there are cheaper models available. There is always a cheaper model. But fortunately there are those who still appreciate wisdom. Wisdom comes with experience.

I am tired of being asked when I am going to retire (born in 1960)? So I say that I have been on semi-retirement for the last five years - I only work eight hours a day five days a week . I don't what to do with all the spare time I have!

Funny thing. When I was 48 I wanted to move from public school teacher to IT Admin/Security. I figure, 72 (what I figure will be my minimum retirement age) - 48 = 24 years! That's a lot of time for a blossoming career, and longer to stay in one that's not much fun anymore. Now here I am, 10 years later, IT Admin of a bigger small company that just got bought out by a fortune 300 company, being pulled into their IT support arm. Pretty cool.

Nice (eye)glasses. I've been retired twelve years. We've travelled a lot but there's always more to see. When talking with young folk, I think they talk much too fast and in a jargon of their own. Apart from a serious health issue, I still lead an active life and at 75, I'm glad to be here. Thanks to both of you for reinforcing that we as an older generation are still valued and needed. Toowoomba Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺, is my home. It's going into autumn here, so it's cooling significantly to the heat we had a few weeks back. Cheers from down under..

Keep in mind Bazz that when we were young, old folks would say that we talked much too fast and in a jargon of our own. That's what being young is for.

New to this space and you are spot on for ageing I have always been one to embrace new experiences and education my entire life. You are so right about companies making it impossible to be valued. I experienced this in my work life. They changed the rules to suit themselves and threw roadblocks in our way. It was just the older ones who experienced this ageism problem. I stuck it out long enough to collect my pension and took all my holidays owed and created my own online business and grew my hobby into a business ❤Love my job now because I am the boss

Steve, this was excellent! I feel your passion about the Grey Wave. I'm 66 and still working with a great company where I'm appreciated but I want to make much more of the amazing tools that are available. When I owned my bricks and mortar business for about 15 years, I watched as some of the factors that you described earlier in this session, took hold of my business, shook it violently and thumped it to the pavement. (2008-2009) It took me a decade to dig out and get back to zero. I love what you're presenting here and look forward to the Boot Camp. Thank you.🙏

Your videos are always of value. I’m of the Jones generation. I work full time but started my own online business last year, although working on things in my spare time for longer than that. I’m lucky in my job that people appreciate my value. I’m often consulted for advice or asked questions on technical or computer stuff. My uncle once commented that my skill must come from growing up with computers. I had to remind him no such thing! I didn’t even have a calculator and computers didn’t come along for home use until I had kids. I was a stay at home mother of 4. And homeschooled them until their mid teens. I learned how to use a computer by myself from books and just messing around. I have done my own computer repairs and upgrades. But my passion is design and writing. I sold things at craft fairs to buy Adobe software. I am confident I can find purpose and meaning in what I do through retirement years. The only thing holding me back is health. But thanks to the online world I can work around a lot of that, even though I might need to stop my full time day job in corporate land.

I had a dream last night that I started a new business. I didn't have a website (gave it up years ago). In the dream, I created a new website in one day hawking myself as a consultant and organizer - with absolutely no background as an organizer (for setting up or changing a business), and only 8 years experience as a computer consultant doing nothing more complicated than solving user problems. But, you know, having a website with a place for people to write in their testimonies is just as good a place to start as any. Now, I real life I really don't want to start a new business. I'm enjoying having all the free time I want to catch up on my reading and to explore videos on KZfaq in subjects that interest me most - like this one.

I've been retired 5 years now and my skills are used in senior leadership positions in both national and local nonprofits as a Volunteer. There are so many organizations that can use our skill sets. I do my best to stay abreast of new technology and to encourage other boomers to embrace new tech as well. So far I'm good but I have retired friends and the volunteer work is not enough for them. Its different for everyone.

I went online on 05 and loved it all and still do. About 7 years ago I jumped from XP to 10 while hearing that it would be hard to do - the common thinking back then. I decided to skip the 7 upgrade and see how far I could push XP - over 2 years before the OS meltdown as nothing supported it any more. Way too many hours keeping XP going that I needed a break and bought a new computer 12 months later refreshed. Learning 10 Pro was easy - 1 good reason not to listen to others. Perhaps 12 will be fit to use when the times comes.👍

I started out with Windows 98, and I've been keeping up with it all the way to the present. I am mostly a Mac user. I keep Windows OS running on my Mac using Parallels Desktop for Mac - and I also have an instance of Linus on my Mac. I use those platforms mostly to help people with their questions. It's really hard for me to just give up technology just because I am retired. I hope to be around when AI is a real driving force for everyone on a daily basis. I'm also interested in the latest scientific discoveries about how the universe works and how consciousness fits in to make things work.

Steve, you mentioned the grey wave and course to build an online business for boomers, etc. Question. On a scale of 1-10, 1 being a total newbie to online marketing, businesses, etc. and 10 being you, who would your course be for? Trying to determine based on digital experience, if it may be for me. Thanks.

Looking for something else to do, not in the same biz, and although 64 feel I have an above average understanding of computers, although recently bought a Mac after only knowing PC's that is a learning challenge on its own...lol. Sorry, I'm commenting as I go through this. Just like all the other ism's, ageism doesn't really exist on an individual level. I have met so many boomers and gen xers who say they CAN'T learn these new tools. They still feel that the education they got in their teens and twenties should be all the learning they have to do. Truth is they just don't want to. As an employer, I want the best employees with the newest relevant knowledge. If an older employee can't compete...that is their problem/decision. It's not ageism. Many boomers still don't realize how lucky they were growing up with unions and retirement plans and pensions. The United States was in a unique position basically up through the 90s in that we had no serious competition to our economy. Not the case now.
