Time Series Forecasting with Multiple Regression

In this video, I demonstrate how to do time series forecasting, accounting for seasonality using multiple regression. I use dummy variables to account for seasonal effects. I use MS Excel Data Analysis pack and use the regression command. After completing the regression analysis, I demonstrate how to use the estimated regression function to forecast into the future and account for seasonality. I finally show how to calculate the mean absolute error (MAE).

I created a basic regression model for forecasting my company's gas demand forecast, in the UK. I used Met Office variables (Temp/Feels Like/Wind Speed/Wind Direction), as well as historic National Energy Usage data. It worked, although I had to update regularly. I don't suppose you have a good way to produce the same thing do you, which will be better and maybe simpler than mine, as I am no expert like you. Thanks.

Because it's implied that when Q1, Q2 and Q3 adds up to 0, then must Q4 equals 1
