When filling those big pots with soil, you can fill the pot with empty plastic bottles so you don't have to use so much soil. I used pine cones . They are all over my house. Take care..love you all ❤

The place is looking good guys ❤ The Hosta plants are usually for shady areas and the Lillie’s like sun - so you may need to move them after Wednesday 😊

Hostas will burn up in the sun. They are shade plants. Both your plants will come up year after year. Make watering the plants one of the kids daily or every other day job. Have a great day 💖

Cassie, the plants are nice! Word of warning: those seem to be terra cotta pots (I like them!)-they will suck the water out of the soil. You’ll need to water daily when summer cranks up maybe twice daily.

Hostas live is the shade!! Lily’s are a pain, they aren’t really animal happy plants. I really like the tractors ya’ll made! Handy Dandy, sure makes things easier.

Cassie, the lilies should be fine in the sun but I'm afraid the Hostas are going to burn in that sunny area. Hostas are shade plants and would be best planted in the dirt along the porch where the porch overhang gives them shade through the day. Hope you get some of the cheesecake this year, it sounds wonderful! Love ya'll.

Good luck with okey homestead fair can't be there again darn! But will be praying for all who attend, i gave 2 funrals to attend, both USMC MEMBERS 1 a Vietnam vet, 1 a Korean vet, both highly decorated for bravery, one from Hawaii, one from Montana. GOD bless all

Hostas are great. They get bigger each year. And you can separate them. When they get big. Many different varieties

But they end shade and a good amount of regular watering. They also need to be in the ground since they spread and grow from bulbs. You cut them down to ground level they come back next spring bigger and prettier.😮❤

Just an FYI.....both the Lily's & the Hosta NEED put in the ground when you're done showing them in the pots. Both of the plants are PERRENIALS. They will come back year after year. The Lily's will flower & some Hosta's do too 😊

Cassie, I love flowers. The hostas need mostly shade and the lilies need mostly sun, also the lilies won't bloom again till next year.

Hostas are perennial… they will come back each year bigger and bigger if you plant in ground in shaded area. They’re your kind of plant Cassie … and mine … easy to grow

Lilies and hostas are really easy to grow and will spread.

The lilies if the are like mine will grow brown/black seeds where the leaves come out of the stalk. They will either fall off when they get big enough or you can pick them off and plant or toss them wherever you want more to grow.

Hope you all had fun at the Okie Homestead! Talking about keeping plants alive. One year when my husband and myself came to the till with a cart full of plants, my husband asked the cashier for a moment of silence 🥴. The lady looked at him very confused and asked him “Why?” He said “ because these ar al going to die “ 😂😂😂😂

Slugs love Hostas. You could get some diatomaceous earth and sprinkle it all around top of the pot, supposed to help with bugs and slugs. x

Cassie, FYI...Pick a day and time and have Alexa give you notification...I water my outdoor plants on Sundays, at 9AM... I also have a notification on my calender to water plants at 9AM, in case we loose power inside the house...

I really like that sheep tractor, probably wouldn't hold a goat, but it's great for sheep! And hopefully the hens will figure out the nest box. Much easier to collect the eggs from. I hope y'all are havig a great time at the expo. I really wanted to be there, but God had other plans. Hopefully next year I can make the trip down. 💖💖💖

If you plant the hostas in the shade and in the ground and keep them watered once or twice a week they will come back do the same with the Lilly's but they need a little bit of sun hosts are full shade! My mom had a green house so I have been around plants my whole life. Both will come back and Lilly's spread hosts can get big! Hope you guys are having fun! I was going to come to the okie convention but have to watch grandchildren.

The wheels on the sheep tractor that turn to steer it should be fabricated with some "caster" design to them so you wouldn't have the problem of holding them while moving the tractor.

If you can keep the plants alive, you shouldn't have to plant again. They will come back. Hostas do like shade. Maybe you can move the pots close to the house. Good luck!

Cassie the Hosta you bought are plants that spread every year. Depending on where you plant them. So putting them in planters or pots is really not the best choice. They are better as a border or bed plant.. Good Luck..

To bad you couldnt of found some geraniums to put in those pots. They love the sun, the two plants you got hostas are shade loving and lilies bloom then done...geraniums bloom all summer til they freeze

Watering those plants would be an easy chore for Mazzy to do every other morning. When I was 6 and older that was one of my jobs helping my mother with her garden.

Just add a drip system to your flower pots. With a timer you never have to think about watering.

You may already being doing this, if you put the wheels that swivel in front, anything is easier to guide when you move something. I learned this moving big heavy carts at my job.

Hosta plant is a hardy plant it dies back and comes back year after year and get bigger each year so they are lovely and they are lovely plants and will fill ur pot u will never need to do ur pots again if he remembers to water them now and again xxxx

Safe travels to everyone traveling! Cassie someone told me to shred and soak newspaper in water and put it on the soil of plants to help the soil from drying out so quickly….we’ll see?!

Hostas are shade plants! The sun will burn them if they're not in the shade! Also, they will spread and will need to be thinned out. They do best in the ground. Deer love their purple flowers!

Love to you all, have a great Expo! Cassie, you had me laughing in tears when you said "One nest box per five hens." We all know you can give them ten boxes, but they'll all use the same one...and scream to high heaven if that favorite box is in use when they decide to lay!😂😂😂 I have 4 boxes built in my coop with a drop down door - they all (22) prefer to use the covered cat litter box I have out in the run!😅

Cassie and Gary can you please keep the south shore of Nova Scotia in your prayers. The community of Shelbourne is fighting the largest forest fire in Nova Scotias history also keep my daughters and their families in the prayers as well. They are in the evacuated area. My son in law is a volunteer firemen. Love from Nova Scotia Canada.

Cassie-I have a black thumb too and I’ve managed to not murder my hostas I’ve had for 12 years, split them, move them, gave some away. They get huge and take over the sidewalk all summer.. lol. You can move some to that space that’s bare in the other side of your sidewalk & porch, they will thrive there. Good Luck and have a great time at the Expo🙏🏻 God Bless!

I have had lillies with cats they never touched them. After weds take your lilies and hostas and put them in the ground. They are perrenials and will multiply and you dont have to worry about them dying. Hostas look great around the base of a tree or along a walkway. They will get a long stem with flowers. When the long stem dies off and starts to dry cut it off and you have pretty greens to look at.

Hostas and Lillies are super easy and look really nice. They both spread you can split them and multiply from a one time investment.

I love Hostas the grow like crazy they are nice around the fences, decks, and to line the flower bed. Mine had a little purple flower . When they grow back in the spring they populated so you cand thin them out and plant some around the ot side of the shop or barn❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉

The lilies and hosta are both perrinials and are not plants for pots. You might want to plant them in the ground later and watch them multiply! Hostas flourish in the shade and lilies in the 🌞

Wouldn't help getting through the gate but tie rope to pivot wheels and pull the tractor with power equipment. If you can convert the the fixed wheels to pivot you will have an easier time maneuvering as needed.

Your plant pots are super, just keep them watered. If they dry out just one time you may be in trouble, though Hosta's are hard to kill.

Actually, you can eat hostas. When they are firt coming up in the spring and are ferled, just cut them at ground level, clean and sauté in butter.

Hosts are hard to kill. We dug a bunch up last year and this year they are just as big as when we dug them up. Have fun this weekend, wish I could be there.
