I don't think anyone told him to do this, I think he just does it naturally cause he's the oldest. Especially since the ones he tends to gather up the most are the younger members. A lot of caring for the younger people around you is naturally woven within our culture, so he probably doesn't even think twice about it.

In Korea, even if you are the leader of the band, you gotta respect the eldest.. the eldest has more authority but jin doesn't think and act like that, he just loves his brothers and feel obliged to that sometimes because he is the eldest.

I feel like in some ways Jin is more mature then Namjoon and I feel like Namjoon already has enough responsibility as a leader to also be in charge of that. I always feel Namjoon gets a lot of help from Jin when it comes to these type of things. I also feel Jin is the most perceptive of BTS he can always read a room so easily and he can always adapt to it and feel what the room needs or doesn't need. I respect that about him a lot. I remember at the Paris statium concert in June 2019 Jungkook jumped off stage to go to an army in a wheelchair. I think it was the end of the show and the members were already lining up on the main stage lift to go down and you could hear Jin shouting "JUNGKOOK-AHH" concerned, cause he could not see him on stage or in the crowd (the fans lost their chill and basically stormed at JK the minute he jumped in their midst)

Poor Jin is always chasing the Maknae line lol. He even has to remind the older brother's their place, but it's mostly the maknae that he has to chase around

Jin has had that role from the beginning since he’s the oldest. This especially makes sense given how young JK, V, and Jimin were during the time leading up to (and following) their debut. My favorite moment of Jin collecting the babies will always be the moment in Bon Voyage when he leashed JK to himself so he can keep track of him, then clucked at JK to get him moving. I always go soft in that moment, it's just too precious. But what I love about Jin (and I'm OT7, so there are things about ALL of them that I love) is that while he openly portrays himself as the oldest maknae, and is goofy and silly on camera, he always, ALWAYS, keeps his responsibilities and manners in mind, and even when he's being chaotic. He still keeps track of the members, their whereabouts, and what they are/should be doing, and is always sacrificing himself to ensure they are comfortable, happy, and looking like their best selves for the camera.

The Maeknae line can get wild sometimes so Jin is doing a great job as a good Hyung he is. It's just too funny to watch specially the one with RM 😂😂😂

seokjin has this saying where he refers to himself in the third person when the others are in need. he says "hyung" (older brother) will do it." so for example, if one of the members is injured and has restricted movements, jin will say, "don't worry, hyung will do it." its so endearing, and it also just shows how much he cares for the others, as well as just how much the others respect him in letting him take that role. much love guys

Ok someone said this once Namjoon is the leader yes and he does a good job of it. But Jin and Yoongi do a good job as leaders as well just behind the scenes. It's like how Jhope is probably the unofficial dance leader. BTS are really a family. I'm pretty sure someone will comment on it but I don't think anyone said to Jin that it was his responsibility to do any of the things he does. But I'm pretty sure it was seen as an expectation that he should be a responsible Hyung because he's one of the oldest. That being said Jin is not obligated to care as much as he does or do as much as he does for BTS but it's obvious that he does because he wants to and I admire that. That's really hard to do because in alot of ways you're selflessly putting others before you. It's easy to do better at taking care of others and to forget about taking care of your own self. Being selfless and giving is definitely good as long as it's to people who won't bite you in return. Anyway as long as Jin looks out for himself as well though then I'm all good. Also Jin does what he does not for our eyes or approval but for his members benefit hence why unless you look pass the funny guy WWH persona you'll miss out on getting to know someone with a beautiful personality.

Age and seniority are a big thing in korean culture. Jin being the eldest naturally carries with him a lot of responsibilities. As goofy as Jin acts, he is very responsible inside and he takes it upon himself to take care of the members without having to be asked. Watch videos on “hyung will do it”/ “namjin being the parents of the group”. You can see even Yoongi and namjoon want Jin to “baby” them sometimes and ask for affection from Jin. It’s the cutest.
