We have a lot in common. Ten years ago, I suffered repetitive injury to my neck & back from operating a handheld die grinder for six months before I could get off that job. It was brutal and caused a lot of pain at work and at home. I've been in constant pain since. Although I was able to perform in a live band for a while, in recent years it has been increasingly difficult to play guitar for even a few minutes before my fingers and sometimes hands will fall asleep. I've been through the battery of tests you have and nerve conduction tests are brutal to some nerves while I barely notice others. This has made just about everything I do with my hands a task. Depression has become a constant companion. I am sharing this with you to let you know that you aren't alone. I am including you in my prayers, Mike. We have a lot in common and if I can brighten your days at all, please let me know. Sorry I couldn't take part much in the chat... work work interfered... but I have your back buddy! Next year I'm dedicated to coming out and helping with the British Boutique Guitar Show! I have Radiculopathy... hopefully that's what it is and not ALS. My C5 through C7 compressed from mainly a motorcycle accident at age 14 plus years of skateboarding, bmx biking, surfing, snowboarding and other crazy things growing up as a normal kid... and into adulthood! Honestly lucky to be alive and thankful I only a couple false front teeth, and manageable tingling and numbness in my right hand! Forced me off the piano and keyboards for the must part, but now I'm in love with playing the guitar, bass and drums too! Just don't ask me to sing and do any frontman DLR style split jumps or stage dives! I'll be praying for go brother!
