Oh Yes ! The Mata in Caiman Creek.... in the lower section (away from Marge ) ! Love this turtle species and you should be able to get an underwater shot of him feeding with that huge vacuum-cleaner-mouth ! Thanks Paul for the great trade .

I have never seen a Mata Mata before and I have to say he is really cool looking. Thank you so much for sharing him. I can’t wait to see more videos of him. I think Martin would be a good name for him.

What a perfect addition! And you can actually SEE him! Usually water in this kind of habitat is so tannin stained it's like strong coffee and you get a perfect mirror, but everything IN it is invisible. It'll get overgrown with algae, but right now his shell looks like a tropical wood carving.

I love those! Jerry went to a reptile expo, recently, and He recorded a bucket full of Mata-matas . They looked like leaves floating around. lol how about Mathew for a name? Cayman Creek is looking like it has been there forever! Thank you Paul for letting Kenan have the Mata.. Him and Marge rule their piece of heaven. 😊❤

The world could use another Mata Mata breeder, so that the can stop being taken from the wild. Only very recently were they able to be consistently bred and last I checked I could count on one hand how many people in North America were able to get them to lay viable eggs. I'm sure that number has gone up slowly though!

7:10 All the bumpy rough scutes and crevices on the mata mata's skin and carapace quickly collects algae crud and debris that settles in the crevices. That probably helps algae attach and grow on the skin and shell. These turtles literally become part of the environment.

Hey! I just love turtles in all shapes and forms but the mata mata is one of the favourites! also ive always wanted to see this species in an enviroment like this so this makes me happy! Cant wait to see the future for this guy! Merry christmas to all and best wishes from Sweden!

I love the Mata Mata. I've been fascinated with them since the first time I saw one. Thanks Paul! That’s a myth. They’re named Mata mata because their shell resembles the bark of the mata mata tree in South America where they are from.

Hi Kenan that MataMata turtle is so awesome looking. He is exploring his new pond. He will love to eat some of the small fish. Such a beautiful shell. I think the caimen will leave him alone. Perfect habitat for the two South American species. What a wonderful addition to your kamp. I would name hIm Frank. He looks like a Frankenstein creation. I will enjoy seeing update about him soon. Canon I wanna suggest to you that you get a polarizing filter for your cameras slash phone camera Which will allow us viewers to see what you see underwater above water. In other words this filter will cut out the glare from the sun reflecting off the top of the water preventing us from seeing what's under the water like you can up close. I think that'll improve your video presentations for us viewers. Thanks Have a great day And I hope that's helpful.

In sumo, the gyoji (referee) says "matta matta" for a false start, but screams "TACHIAI" on a good match start. Imo Tachiai (ta-chi-eye) would be a cool name for such an insanely cool turtle.

Convict Cichlids breed like rabbits! once you have a group as large as the one you have, youll probably never run out 😂 having the turtle will actually help thin out the group

I’m telling you Kenan you need to contact the people at C.A.R.E.S or the local aquarium society near you to get south or Central American fish that are threatened or endangered to put in those ponds. You can help to be an assurance colony for some species that way.

I have 2 Central American ornate wood turtles that you can have for caiman creek they’ve grown to large for my indoor habitat one has been laying eggs

Don't worry about him eating the Cichlids. Convict Cichlids are very very prolific at breeding. Most aquatic shops in the UK won't stock them because they don't want to deal with the fry/Juveniles being brought in all the time. They literally breed every 4 weeks he couldn't eat them all even if he wanted to. The Acara on the other hand might take a hit.
