I think hiker company is cool cause you can get something simple and cheap and modify it yourself or you can build it up at a REASONABLE price. I will be going with hiker such great videos keep ‘em comin 😎👍👏🤘💪

Looks great! Can you post the model number of that Houghton AC? I have a Mid-range XL 10' on order as well, will be ready by Sept. But the Colorado factory does not have the AC as an option so they are helping me find a 3rd party installer.

Very slick. Excited to follow along for all your future modifications. I am very envious. Very curious as to the reasoning behind the separate electrical plugs for shore power and the AC? Why not just one plug? Maybe you can cover that in the future. I personally do not like the tire in front. I like the weight off the tongue and in the back.

There is definitely more weight in the front - we can't lift it up and move it around like we could on our mid range deluxe.

We agree - we love the minimal maintenance needed for these trailers vs the big trailers. Less things to go wrong. Our original trailer was charcoal. The slate has a blue tinge to it.

Matt, who makes the battery? Also are you keeping your portable solar. I went with the suitcase so I could park the trailer in the shade and still have solar. The setup looks good!

Those things take up a lot of space. When it comes to a small trailer you need to take advantage of every square foot there is. We would rather cook on our side table or picnic table then in our trailer. As for the sink/water tanks, we don't want to have to worry about winterizing the water system.

My guess is that it is a 5x10 mid range with a custom color such as orange, green or red.

Could you please measure the height from the floor to the top of the AC unit on this 10' model? We're in TX so the AC is needed. Also, when we order, can you get a referral $$$ if we give them your name?

Our AC unit is 9" tall. We have the Midrange XL and the top of the roof sits at 70", so a total of 79". I noticed on a recent trailer that left the Hiker facility there was a black AC unit on the top, so you may want to reach out to them as the height of that unit could be different. Also the Highway and Midrange both sit lower if you need more clearance. Definitely throw our name out there - we don't officially get referral bonus yet, sounds like they have a program starting in '23.

We're planning for retirement in a few years & lower overall payments, fuel, insurance, & storage costs. We're seriously looking at the 10' model. It will be fun, like the good old tent & pop-up days but MUCH better!

I put a bid in on 10 foot XL off road with the roof top AC and the quote came back and I was told that roof top AC was not offered?? How do you get roof top AC if they don't install it? Thanks

You could contact Hiker Trailers to see if they can match the tire to your truck tire. You can them ask about the fenders - not sure on that one. The biggest these trailers go is 5x10.

Interesting how this guy says I’ve never heard of one that needed to be changed but after only 5 to 6 years they still should be running well. Of course anybody that understands or his research this type of stuff realizes that within just a few hours it’s already lost 8 to 10% of its overall generating capacity. So it’s a bit disingenuous to claim it can last any more than 10 years.
