The noise levels due to bitcoin mines, datacenters, power plants, and other industrial facilities are 100% forecast-able. This seems to be a very easily fixed problem for marathon. They have the capital and there’s no reason that if they want to continue mining at that location that they should change all their miners to immersion cooling. That would completely solve the noise issues and help bring peace of mind to that community. This would be costly for marathon, so maybe a better option would be to move locations. A responsible bitcoin miner should step through the front door of that community before setting up shop and create some sort of positive incentives for that community, they are in.

@@rickymarwah3438 the red tape would be the shipping containers they look like they’re in need to be completely underground and then air vented out. Again, liquid cooling them takes the fans off the machines. When they’re hot the fans run faster aka louder. Fans being the issue. Bitcoin doesnt take away any kind of electricity which is rare at high market prices. Miners just run if there is too much electricity available in the grid to stabilize supply and demand.

Imagine how delusional you would have to be to believe this. The electricity it consumes was made by burning gas, by not mining you would save gas. Only in coo coo world bitcoin mining does not take away energy.

Well, people need to quit investing in currency that has now real world value. There is no gold bricks backing the value of bitcoin. It is far too easily inflated by artificial means.

No that’s not how any of this works. There’s no gold bricks backing fake dollars that can be printed at any time. Bitcoin has tons of real world value. There’s an entire park full of miners mining Bitcoin in this video 24/7. It’s like you’re not paying attention
