@miamimovingcam, the passengers would feel the severity of the motion at that speed

My mom just came back from a cruise a week ago. NCL out of Galveston. She said the wind was really bad each day. 20+ mph on the islands and on the ship. It was interesting to say the least.

Is there Ground control like on an airport tarmac?
@miamimovingcam3 ай бұрын
I don't know for sure but there are always some boats with police-style lights. I suppose it will be those that guide in the water.
@fldon23062 ай бұрын
Harbor Master would control traffic of large vessels in and out. They also coordinate with Miami-Dade Police, the four small boats zipping around controlling access to Government Cut, the name of the boat channel in Miami. I don’t know if the cruse ships need Harbor Pilots, local pilots who know the port, tides, etc., because many so ships call Miami “home port”. The Container Ship leaving at he end most likely does use a Pilot for safe navigation out of the port.

Do you know what day this was? My wife and I just went on this exact ship and port about a month ago

Awesome.. guess People that have means can have bigger Carbon prints..
@matttownsend71192 ай бұрын
Yes they are big ships with big engines generating lots of carbon. But, there are also a large number of people aboard. The net carbon per passenger mile could be quite low.

Does anyone know why the ships initially turn left (north) out of the ship channel before eventually turning southward?

On a completely different subject .... NO ONE is EVER going to build a battery electric ship this size. No one. Not ever. For several reasons. The idea is completely absurd.

So going to New York wouldn't be a vacation either cause there's a lot of people in that city and these are basically floating cities.
