Ishmael in the Bible was abandoned by his mother in the desert to fend for himself. He was the direct ancestral father of the Arabs. The Bible actually predicted what his Arab descendents would be like. "For I too will bless Ishmael and make him and his descendents (Arabs) into a great nation. He will become a hunter. He used to tell me that he lived in a tank for over 9 months on the Frontline and never set foot on the ground because of all the landmines under the sand. He told me that the tank would just rattle like an empty can each time they drove over a landmine. He was so psychologically effexted that he was talking to the trees and bushes outside his apartment. But he is a lot better now thank god. Leland Sekayumptewa is my best friend now. Funny how people who aren’t even Iraqi or from Iraq “claim too know more than the actual Iraqis themselves smh. I’d like to say, I’m a Shia Iraqi and trust me even the ones that hated Saddam heavily want him back today. Literally the country and the whole region became unstable after he was gone. Like one wise man said “One Saddam Hussein that was removed, another 1,000 Saddam's have emerged.” Now some American who doesn’t know where Iraq is on a map will say “Um no not true the country is free today blah blah” Look that’s just how things in work in certain places, It’s only sad if you think it’s sad and when you don’t live there or barely know anything about the place. Picture yourself in these 2 scenarios First one - Unemployment is slim to none, You and everyone else in the country get free healthcare, life quality is good, there’s more equality between the nation, there’s safety, great school’s and there’s little to no corruption. Now the second one - Unemployment is quite high, there’s no free health care, life quality is bad, there’s no equality. barely any safety, great schools and services are extremely expensive for most, last but not least there’s many extremely corrupt government officials. Which one would you pick? Yeah the answer is pretty obvious.

The victim's are wipped within a inch of their lives by three burly savages who loved inflicting this kind the pain on other humans . They start, about three soldiers with bamboo like whips. They start on the soles of their feet, just one strike is enough to get screening and trying then it's all over the body. The screems from these men would upset anyone watching this barbarity. They take it in turns whipping the men. Just imagine what a grown man with a whip can do to a defenceless man nor fighting back.

I enjoyed the video but the whole story is left out. There's way more that he did. Also there is much of America to blame since we also played a major role in covering up the crimes that we helped him with. The Iraq war aka 20 year war was not for terrorism. It was a farce. Our government could care less about us veterans. So I'm not proud of being in that war. As Joseph Stalin once said history is written by the winners. I love history but not the only version you claim. You made him to be the worst villain of all time but truth is it's the united States government. Btw it was the Saudi government involved in the 911 attacks. Just like Vietnam it's all propaganda but thanks for your video. Not everything he did was right but is he much worse than our government? If you want to know the whole story you will need to research. God bless and take care.

Always remember growing up in the 80s as a kid - my Uncle was from Iraq and we were all close to him, my Auntie and our cousins. When we visited he always used to say how dangerous it was for them to go back and see relatives. We also learnt how crazy the son Uday was - he used to drive around Baghdad, picking up his love rivals who he would literally dump in the lion enclosure at the zoo. After about 1985 the family stopped going back on visits as they were so scared Saddam would just keep them all in the country and not let them leave. It was during the time of the original gulf war Iraq had with Iran. We knew long before he became the west's enemy just how much of a tyrant he was. I've always been conflicted about our invasion of Iraq for that reason. Because ridding the country of such a monster no matter what the reason always seemed to me a good thing even with all the evil that followed.

I have lived in Iraq from 1976 to 2003 I do agree that he was ruthless BUT with WHO? He wasn't ruthless with people who did not interfere in politics He only punished those who were loyal to the country Iraq was at war with from 1980-1988 and this is TREASON The people you mention are either liars or loyal to the fu..i. g enemy The proof is simple; have a look at Baghdad before and after

I can't stop wondering why anyone can blame Saddam Hussein being harsh at torture . Iraqi history was deciphered during his reign , he kept learning all the legends of the glorious past of old Babylonia to New Assyrian Empires and Chaldean to Rashidun era . To the invading Mongol force . Did you ever read the description of Ashurbanipal and Hulegu Qan in their ways of torture ? Iraqi history has always been violence . Let the centre of all Civilizations rest for some years . Let there be peace and hope for poor peasants . There is one thing that many will not forget . That unprovoked 2003 US invasion of Iraq . That was a sight to behold . For Muslims it says just how much Americans hate us .

@@Charles-hy6gp well , Israel is there . Live and in good shape . Since recently the archaeological finds show the soft side , the nomadic arab dwellers , the Eastern roman empire towns , there is this easy going atmosphere on the west coast of the Mesopotamia. It wasn't major seat of power . It's leaders weren't pushing their agenda to imperial motives .Iraq , yes very grandeur of imperialism began there with Sargon I of Akkad .

I have read the history of Mesopotamia yes, in particular the history of the Neo Assyrian empire and the transcriptions that Ashurbanipal mandated that all be known as a warning. It's somewhat perplexing that your argument here seems to be 'well the Assyrians indulged in horrific brutality so why can't Saddam?' You're comparing a civilisation over 2600 years ago to modern day and justifying said practises because worse happened millennia ago. As you know, it is also precisely because of the barbarity Ashurbanipal and the Assyrian Kings enforced in the region that caused the demise of the empire due to the collective hatred of living under that kind of regime. In its place, Cyrus and the Achaemenid Persians were significantly more lenient and that approach was permissible because the region's populace was brutalised for centuries. Saddam committed atrocities against his own people and people in that region. Just because the Assyrians, Rashidun Caliphates, Mongols or any others you wanna cite from history perpetrated similar or worse, doesn't absolve him from blame from the wicked things he was responsible for.

@@noneya3969 I never had a trailer, we slept on wooden floors in SLAs while in Kuwait, then we slept in the holes we dug, then on the roads when we found them, then on the tarmac of Saddam International, then more holes, THEN the mansion, but we didn’t sleep inside, we slept in…that’s right..holes. After that we slept on the dirt in a place we lovingly called “Camp Diarrhea”, then more holes (I stopped digging them at this point and just slept on the ground, and eventually, a navy ship took us home (after a few ports). Trailers would have been nice though.

@@noneya3969 I was with the first marine division, 2/11, during the invasion of Iraq, and the occupation thereafter as “police forces”. This started with our deployment in early February to Kuwait, with the invasion beginning in early march of 2003. We marines and sailors were very busy for four days straight without sleep or pause, then allowing ourselves a brief respite during the remaining days of the 21 day push to take Baghdad. I can’t speak to the soldiers what came after me, just me, however I respect their service all the same.
