In this video, we look at the attractive Timex Marlin Automatic with a silver dial. Timex was a gateway brand for me getting into watches with my purchase of my Timex Weekender. At the time, this watch did not exist, but if it did, I would have definitely given this one a hard look.

It reminds me of when I was a kid and made the purchase of my first watch and the reason I still love watches to this day. I saved my allowance and went down to the corner drug store to purchase the Timex I had my eye on for a very long time. I took it home and couldn't take my eyes off the beautiful sunburst dial. My obsession started about 55 years ago.

The rational side of me knows something like a Bambino offers more in specs for the price. But the emotional side simply loves the look and feel of the Timex, which is why I bought one. I got the Charlie Brown variant, which makes me smile every time I look at it.

I have a 1968 Timex Marlin (self-winding) which has become my go-to watch.

I have the maroon dial version, definitely versatile and beautiful. did get a pretty gnarly scratch on the mineral crystal though around the 7 o clock... wish it was a little more durable 😐

I would like to add a modern and a vintage timex Marlin to my collection! Im a person that likes to have different versions or colours of the same watches. I also like the manual wind variants I think those are a nice addition as well!

Have owned this watch for about a year and love it! A bit pricy considering the specs but as you mentioned it's a great compromise between contemporary design while having some serious history on your wrist. Best feature is with the brown leather: business, throw it on a nato: casual, black alligator leather: tuxedo!! Very fun watch

I think Timex should release a 38mm Weekender automatic price around $150. No date or use a circular cutout at the six o'clock.

Not turned on by this watch, as already owned an excellent 1962 TIMEX Viscount (Cross-Hair) that’s in its self was a rare watch, all Viscounts were automatic or Self-Wind on the dial.

Hi Michael! Nice to see you here too. This channel is going to be dedicated to covering watches I have available on my website for purchase. Given the frequency that I plan on dropping videos here I didn't think it would be a good idea to start oversaturating the other channel with content as I like the 1-2 videos a week flow there.

Bought it, but don't like it. It's HUGE. Feels like I've got a pie plate strapped to my wrist. Wish it would've been 36 maybe 38mm at the biggest. Why 40? That's massive! I'll stick with the 34mm reissue, that's a far better size.
