I recommend all DIYers to check FIRST if it is possible to loosen the crank pulley bolt ... because if you can't get it loose, there is no point in taking it all apart. (I had to have a mechanic loosen mine at his shop.)

Use the bump start method. All these engines turn clockwise.

I used the bumpstart method to take the crank bolt out, worked like a charm.

You mean the method of putting a wrench on it and then tapping the ignition? Glad you were able to get it off, they can be a pain!

Nice video! You’re certainly very knowledgeable when it comes to names for every part! I replaced the timing belt and water pump a few years ago on our Honda and I didn’t have a puller for the harmonic balancer. Took me like an hour to get that thing off lol. I guess it’s worth it in the long run to have the right tool isn’t it?

For sure! Ive actually broken a harmonic balancer by not having the right tool before (chipped the outer guide). This time I was able to borrow one.

Great step.by step instructions video, but how.did you get the cam pully bolt out without the pull moving did.you have something holding it in place?

I was able to remove it with an impact driver

I tried an impact.driver but the pulley turns I found out they even make a special tool that goes on with screws to hold the pulley in place, in another video they used a wrench chain with a piece of wood to hold it in place, do you think the fact the my belt is broken might be why the pulley moves when I try to get the bolt out?

Well I final hung of the crank pully bolt out using the bump starter trkck, what a relief but now I can't get the balancer out without holding TBE pull g in place how did you do it?

I don't know exactly what you have there, but there should be some good videos on removing crankshaft pulleys on KZfaq

I wasn't using a long enough bolt for the puller, I got the balancer out without having to hold the pulley in place, unfortunately the lower cover is damaged, the belt broke and wrapped around the crankshaft also damaged that disc part that goes behind the cover on the shaft got bent, any idea what that part is called, I searched bit couldn't find anything. Thanks

A good way to search is to go to parts.toyota.com and search a nearby part in that area for example crankshaft pulley. Then look at the diagrams for nearby parts and find the one you need. So at 1:56 the air conditioning tube is in the way of that bolt way in the back of the timing belt cover you can't get a ratchet in there. Did you use one of them ratcheting wrenches?

I used a small ratchet and it just fit
