Great video resource. I did a complete timing belt change, with new belt, idler pulley, tensioner pulley, water pump, and tensioner. On cold engine I hear a chirp from the timing belt area that goes away after warmed up. Also I made sure it was not the serpentine belt, since I took both drive belts off and started the car.

Thanks for the pointers. Finishing up a job someone else started😢. I believe I can speak for many in stating that picking up where another left of has definitely got it's downside but I'm hoping to be that guy who fixed what others felt they were unable to do. Hopefully, everything works out as intended. Wish me luck, I believe I've got the skills. I just don't know the unknown.

Not a hydraulic tensioner, it is spring loaded, you can reset your pin by squeezing it in a vise. The most useful info is seeing you use snap ring pliers to preset the pulley (instead of actual mitsu tool). Good video!

Dang! This video is about 2 years too late. Had a '08 Endeavor going to change the timing belt, never did just traded in. One of the best cars I ever had, not one problem. Should've kept it! Dang!

I just want to switch my hydraulic tensioner do I have to worry about the belt coming out of place. The tensioner is making the famous knocking noise. Any help would be great

Did cams have any tension on them normally they spring back if you don't lock them? With my timing marks are all lined up exactly like yours but I can't get 2 revolutions without valves touching.

I highly suggest OEM genuine parts for this vehicle! Yes, the parts will cost $300 but you don't want aftermarket parts failing. Trust me!

Its probably out of time. Did you verify the timing marks before you put the covers back on? Did you turn the engine over a couple of times with a wrench while the covers were off the make sure that the belt tension stayed?
