If you use 0w40 Mobil and change oil every 11months you'll never need to replace timing chain oil is key to this engine so sensitive but bulletproof if treated well.

Hello. Is the latest 229.51 standard recommended on the 2009 M271? On the last oil change, I used Mobil 1 0w40, but I'm thinking about trying a 5w30. Before Mobil, I used liqui Moly 5w40 and the noise on cold start seemed lower. Where I live, the temperature is between 8ºC and 30ºC. By the way, do you do a lot of open road in your W211?

Hello thank you for your videos. I know it's probably a basic thing to you to do (I mean to remove the cover) but the next time you'll check the chain , could you please upload a video ? Because I wanna check mine but i don't know how to do. If yes, many thanks in advance !

As long as not hit by engine oil scam like paid for semi synthetic or paid for full synthetic oil but get only get mineral oil and the oil filter actually not being changed. Since it is old car buy a dip stick and push in not aggressively, once a month, to verify engine oil level. Then keep dip stick in the booth. In next 2 to 3 month I would try get a workshop to put in a voltage type pressure sending unit from engine block, M271 1.8litre SC year 2006, and wired to a stand alone 0 to 5barg range pressure gauge. It will be just wiring from engine block back to dashboard. Not yet know where is the best location to tee out on the engine block. Anyone in Germany or England or Turkey or Taiwan or in anywhere that have done this?.
