A big thank you to @Vessi for sponsoring this video! After a few meals in Japan, I realized that the buffets are a bit different here than with its Vegas counterparts. While elegant with exception care and attention so the ingredients and dishes, it was just missing a bit of grandeur and over the top abundance that we've seen in the Vegas style buffets. However, I can across Japan's largest buffet and to my surprise, it's a Vegas style buffet! Will we see grand showcases of dishes and offerings along with the care and attention that is accustom to the Japanese service and hospitality? I can't wait to find out!
...and it certainly did not disappoint and to top it off, it was great value! A seemingly endless amounts of stations each hosting a seemingly array of dishes; from well made comforting dishes, to individual elegant sophisticated offerings, to the live stations, it was a great experience. The seafood and meats were top notch and well as the welcoming hosts and servers. The endless flow of drinks with wine, beer, whisky, cocktails, and a great umeshi plum wine was a bit indulgent, but I guess that's the point. Just make sure you save room for dessert as that was spectacular by Vegas & Japanese standards! Oh, did I tell you the price? An incredible deal at $35-$45 USD

Las Vegas is notorious for so-called low cost breakfast buffets. My friend's son was asked if he wanted a glass of orange juice with the meal. He ordered the glass and had a shock with a $16 bill for a glass of orange juice not included in the buffet price.

The one buffet I was surprised at was a hotel in Milan. We had just checked in and were hungry. We noticed a buffet in the hotel restaurant. We grabbed a plate that was rather large but we did not think much of it. We ate and then were charged for two buffets each. It was explained the buffet price was for one trip only. The delicious lunch with two trips cost up roughly $85 each.

To be honest, I was getting a little bit concerned about the buffets in Japan until I came here. Very reasonably priced and I believe they normally have crab and other seafoods as well, just not on the day I was filming. Agreed, 2 hours is plenty of time.. though it was a bit of a challenge to film and eat within the two hours. Not too bad, but just had to be very mindful of the time and avoid the lineups 😉

Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out! Yes, the Buffay time limits were pretty strict here in Japan. Usually I take the time to walk around the buffet and check it out and the long lineup to get in also cut into the reservation time. Lol, there was a bit of time pressure to finish the meal 😉

Have you ever thought of asking for a time extension? Because you are filming your review and that gives them such visibility, it would be wise of them to give you log enough to make a proper review. Also do you ask to film? What do you do when a place says no?
@TimLeeLetsGo
@TimLeeLetsGo Жыл бұрын
Yeah, behind the scenes I always ask beforehand if I can take pictures and video and most places do allow for that. And they are very strict on their time. No time extension so every bite and movement had to be time to military precision 😉

Hi Tim, when you are doing close ups on specific foods for viewers to see, such as 12:58 snail, 13:25 charred sea bass nigiri, 20:08 prime rib, 20:43 fried squid, 22:11 salmon and 29:09 raspberry panacotta, will you please turn your wrist slowly from left to right rather than bounce the fork up and down? It's really hard to see.

Thank you and note it... Other people were commenting on that too and I've been watching for that. There's just going to be a bit of a lag until that changes given some filming has already taken place and I'm just very very slow with the editing 😉

Tim , enjoyed your video. I was born in Tokyo left at 18 I havent been back in 7 yrs. I will go to this buffet next time! The chirashi, mabo tofu, curries, steak and the veggie mousse looked fabulous, I was salivating. Tim my dear you have to chew your food! Nice elegant buffet for 60 cad. I think 2 hours is just enough to finish a buffet. However, they should raise the price with no seating time limit. I'm not a fan of any reataurant that has a seating time limit . That being said, Tim, the buffet display looks amazing along with the decor. Another gem video Tim.
