"Road Of Resistance" is a power/speed metal song, it's one of their most epic anthem and the album version got the guitar arrangements made by Sam Totman and Herman Li from DragonForce. It's all about facing your own path without looking back. This was part of the Trilogy Of 2015, live at New Year Fox Festival - Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, by this time their fame was already high due to viral success on YT of Gimme Chocolate! MV, people from all over the world attended this live concert in Japan, and 20K souls witnessed this epic moment. With only 15 and 17 years old this moment will be forever remember when they're performing this song to reminds them all the support they got from their fans no matter where they go, either a small or big stages. The Kami Band here are magnificent set of elite musicians who were send to help with the metal sound, they rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarists). They are: - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums. - Takayoshi Ohmura, god of guitar, he's Míkio' Fujioka's pupil (another beloved Kami Band guitarist who sadly past away) and a prodigy child, you'll see his recognizable pink guitar. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but his fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. - Hideki Aoyama, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene. At the end of their shows they always said "We are BabyMetal!" with the crowd, to making them sure that they're part of this show and project too, is a line borrowed to X-Japan saying it at live concerts too. Su-metal was training to be a singer at eight years old, and began her professional career at ten in an idol group called "Karen Girls" who did songs for an anime called "Zettai Karen Children". You can see several of the songs they did on KZfaq; "Over the Future" and "My Wings" are two of the best known songs they did. Su was then selected at 12 to be part of the founding class of Sakura Gakuin along with Yuimetal and Moametal, during which they would become Babymetal. While Su might not have expected to still be leading Babymetal at 25, she would undoubtedly have been expecting to be a singer, since that's all she's ever wanted to do.

This was the epic final encore of a super epic concert, New Year Fox Festival - Legend 2015 held in Saitama on January 10th 2015 at the SSA (Saitama Super Arena) with a sold-out crowd of over 20.000 people. Fortunately, for this live video they decided to keep the live audio just cutting out the majority of the extended "We are? BABYMETAL!" extensive outro. Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce collaborated with BABYMETAL on this one, doing the guitar arrangements and also playing on the studio recording. Funnily enough they ended up performing it live with BABYMETAL later that year. The song premiered live at O2 Academy Brixton in London in November 2014. This was the third time they performed it live. That moment when they walked through the bridge, with the crowd chanting along without any music, was so special for them as Su-metal explained years later. She said it was one of her favorite moments on stage. She also made this song her personal anthem. You can tell she was on fire, specially during the second half of the song, by her expressions. Not to mention the moment she verbalized it by shouting: "Kakatte koi yaa!" ("Bring it on!"). Until next time! 🤘🦊

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 This song was played in every show during their North American tour with DETHKLOK this year and is being played in their own ongoing EU / UK tour. In your video, Su shouted some words at 13:16 meaning "Bring them on!". Fans analyzed that the provocative shout was thrown at people who had been ignoring, underrating, mocking, hating and even trying to discredit BABYMETAL. That shout may have been necessary in 2015 but not any longer. She shouted it occasionally since then or when she does, it is with her friendly voice and smile that I love.

Oh, Su has been on stage since age 5, Acting and Music school and vocal coaches, 3 bands before BabyMetal. She is a pro at age 16 here with 11 year's experience.

This performance was at Saitama Super Arena (SSA) with a sold out crowd of over 20,000. Su first appeared at SSA in 2008 as the youngest member of the J-Pop trio Karen Girl's, when she was 10 years old. She's been back many times since headlining with BABYMETAL.

You brought up anime... There is a loose anime connection here as at 5:03 the trio does a short bit of Karen Girl's choreography. Regarding the mosh pits... Shortly after the release of Megitsune in 2013, Su- was doing an interview for a radio program and the host/interviewer asked her about the moshpits that were appearing at Babymetal performances. She replied "it looks tough and I hope everyone is OK." BTW, Babymetal does encourage mosh'sh pits (moshushu), a kinder, gentler mosh. The interview was video recorded and is available.

Great reaction as always. Really enjoying your reactions. I don't think anybody has properly introduced you to the girls yet, so I guess I'll do that. Hopefully when I'm done you'll be able to distinguish which girl is which easier and be able to pronounce their names easier. So in what is commonly being referred to as Babymetal 1.0 you have Su-Metal as main vocalist, Moametal, and Yuimetal. Yui left the band in 2018 for health reasons which you know. At around the same time that Yui left their main guitarist from the Eastern Kami band had an unfortunate accident and passed away (R.I.P. Mikio Fujioka). This era became known as the dark era of Babymetal. During this period it was just Su and Moa as Amuse (that's the company that runs Babymetal) was trying to figure out what they were going to do. Eventually they introduced what they called "The Avengers". The avengers were 3 girls that rotated taking turns to fill in for Yui's spot in dance only. They never sang and they weren't considered actual Babymetal members. I guess you could compare them to something similar to a substitute teacher. The sub wasn't your actual teacher but was just filling in while your "real" teacher was away. Finally in I believe it was April of this year, Babymetal officially made one of the avengers, Momoko Okazaki, as the new official third member of Babymetal. The vast majority of Babymetal fans were very happy and proud of her as it is something a) she had always wanted, even in the Sakura Gakuin times as far as I remember, and b) she had worked very hard to fill in for Yui as much as possible. Indeed she had actually filled in the most out of the 3 girls as the other 2 had other projects going on as well. So how to tell them all apart. Su, well is the easiest. She has the mic, and always has her hair in a ponytail. Moa and Yui always have their hair in pigtails. Also, if you look REALLY closely, Moa and Yui's outfit are always SLIGHTLY different than Su's. The avengers, also have different hairstyles than Moa, Yui, or Su. They always have their hair done in buns where there WOULD have been pigtails. So a little like Chun-Li from Street Fighter. You also see that Momo had her hair done in buns when she was an avenger. It's an interesting thing to actually see, because if you watch the 2 Japanese concerts that occurred at the start of this tour, on the first day, before they announced Momo becoming an official member, you see them in their older outfits and Momo has her hair done in buns as usual. The next day, after they announced Momo is the new member, they are in their newest outfits (the ones with the translucent plastic film) and Momo has a side Mic like Moa, AND it is at this time that now her hair is in pigtails. Although I have noticed that the back of her hair is still different than Moa's. Moa has all her hair done in pigtails and she doesn't have any of it hanging down. Momo does have some of her hair still hanging down and she has pigtails. It was something I've been curious about for a bit now. So easiest way to tell Momo apart is from her hair. She still has her hair down in the back along with the pigtails. Moa (pronounced Mow-Wah) is super easy to spot because a) she is typically on Su's right when you are looking at the girls head on, and b) Moa has the adorable dimples when she smiles. And she smiles often. Yui (pronounced You-Wee) is typically on Su's left and you'll be able to distinguish her because she has the super chubby baby cheeks. She is (in my opinion) the youngest-looking of the girls and as such, again in my opinion, was the one that really brought the "kawaii" factor to the group. Moa brought the Happy, high energy, playfulness to the group. Momo, we're all discovering is a bit of another Moa, so it will be fun watching them playing all these pranks on Su during concerts (which they do frequently, which you may discover eventually). One other thing that I found very interesting is that while Yui/Moa had slightly different outfits than Su, the avengers, again, had slightly different outfits than Moa/Yui and Su. It just gave me more appreciation for the depth and attention to detail everybody that is part of the Babymetal team puts into the group to make it the best they can. It is yet another great indication of the passion and love that goes into this group. Anyhow, hope that helps a bit. If you'd like to eventually learn more about the girls and their personalities, I'd recommend checking out their Sakura Gakuin videos. Watching them do the "Nendo test" is both a lot of fun and very funny/cute. Regardless, keep up the good work and have fun checking all the stuff out! Anime comes up often, nearly at the fear of the reactor mentioning the word. My own view for what it's worth is Anime is usually young in its tone, but I find female in general whenever I hear them speaking and singing seem to have a higher nearly falsetto voice compared to Europe, States, I hear it in other Japanese bands. On metal,I feel babymetal introduced metal for those that actually want a melody and not crazy screams, cussing etc, and babymetal got the formula absolutely correct and now we have numerous bands playing let's call it lighter metal because of babymetal. Just my opinion and might open interesting debates. I can recommend to everyone definitely buy their blue ray instead of vinyl or cd, well worth the money. Great one! This was a timeless show closing piece that Babymetal continues to use to this day. And Su has said herself in a very recent interview (Fox5 NY, interview available on KZfaq), this is THE song where she sees a similar reaction from ALL fans across ALL nations and a song that truly connects them with the fans. She felt this was the defining song of who Babymetal is and what they set out to do. Also, a few things: 1). Herman Li and Sam Totman of Dragonforce co-wrote the guitars, and played the guitars for the studio recording of this song. 2). When Su splits the crowd, I just picture Mel Gibson in Braveheart: “HOLD…HOLD…HOLD…NOW!!!” 3). This video cuts out a portion of the ending. During the “We are?! / Babymetal!” Part, they go stage right, repeat, then stage left, repeat, before returning to stage center for the close-out. Mean while, the drummer goes hard the entire time…the stamina lol. 4). All 3 girls have been performing since a very early age. Su and Moa truly love this, and so does Yui. However, did have other aspirations. This contributed to her official exit (along with health reasons) in 2018, after 8 years with the group. No one should blame her, after all, we grow up, mature, and goals and aspirations change too! 5). In addition, during 2021 - end of 2022 “hiatus”, Su and Moa also had to heavily reconsider their future, but realized that performing as Babymetal was still their dream and passion. I read this in an interview somewhere. 🤘🦊🤘🦊

Although Boh and Takayoshi are probably most expressive, my favorites are Mikio's smile (like he knew something you didn't), Hideki singing along with "Gimmie Chocolate" (the Stephen Colbert Show is one example) and the interactions between Hideki and Moa!
