Do I know anything about this Band.....um.... Babymetal is Japan's #1 International Group and the originators of the "Kawaii Metal" (cute metal) genre! Their 3rd Album, "Metal Galaxy" hit #1 in the USA in 2019 on Billboards "Top Rock Album" chart and are one of the Hottest Tickets on the World Heavy Metal Stage today!! Started back in 2010 as a sub-unit of an Idol group called "Sakura Gakuin" when the girls were only 11 and 12 years old, their first song, "Doki Doki Morning" (sung to a backing track) started to gain traction and their Talent agency finally started to spend some money on the group so that over the next few years they were able to start incorporating a Live Band (the Kami Band) and produced several more songs until they were able to break away as their own group in 2013 and started their Rocket Ride to the Top of the Fox Hole and the Heavy Metal Scene...we are talking about opening for Metallica, Lady Gaga, Red Hot Chili Peppers and others... playing with Rob Halford at the 2016 APMA's and their sell out 2 nights of 55,000 fans each night in the Tokyo Dome...Colabs with Bring Me the Horizon and Joakim Brodén of Sabaton, and Music Festivals all over the World!! This is a Major Group in the Heavy Metal world and one of the Best Fan bases in the industry (so says "Loud Wire" and "Kerrang! Magazine" - western industry mags). A LOT of Lore and History with this group and you just scratched the surface!! More Babymetal Always!! Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!

Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🌐 Nice suggestion to start your BM journey, although this song got some synth, the one you're looking for from this concept album released in March this year are songs like: - METALIZM official MV - Time Wave (there's no official MV but you'll find official audio and live performance on another places such The Foxhole or For The Fox God) - Light And Darkness official MV. - Divine Attack - Shingeki official live MV. And maybe the one with symphonic metal touch (kinda Nightwish-ish?) is METAL KINGDOM official MV. Either way throughout their whole discography they got a lot of songs mixing with different genres and subgenres you'll never get bored with this amazing group. BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal". They are: - SuMetal, lead vocalist, now 25. - MoaMetal, scream and dance, now 24. - MomoMetal, scream and dance, she's 20 and is the new official member since April 1st recently. - YuiMetal, scream and dance, former member since 2018. None of them are related. After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said. About this song: Monochrome is another beautiful track from this new album, it was the 2nd single released in November last year and there's an official lyrics video really cool if you wanna enjoy the studio album version, later this year right before this concert you just saw they released the Piano Version at TFT surprising everyone with another stunning and beautiful one off version. The lyrics got some Norse mythology reference and when the lyrics vid came out there were many theories around, later they said they were surprised about it and saying they just wanna give a hopeful song. Here's some official info: _"One of the discovered 10 parallel worlds is MONOCHROME and this 2nd pre-release digital single “Monochrome” centers around this theme. From the eyes of the children, what color were the monochrome fireworks lighting up in the night sky? This song expresses the hopeful wish on Ragnorok, which signifies doomsday in Norse mythology, twinkling across the starry skies in rainbow colors."_ This was live compilation with footage from BabyMetal Begins The Other One - Clear Night, PIA Arena MM, Yokohama on April 2, MomoMetal first concert as an official member, you can notice SuMetal speaking to them in the middle section and giving that recognition, the other clips are taking from BM Returns The Other One, Makuhari Messe, Tokyo in January 29. They got this magical moment when performing live in every setlist they did throughout this World Tour, and we'll definitely are seeing more in the current ongoing Europe & UK Tour. The composer behind this song is the same one behind Karate, Rondo Of Nightmare, Kagerou, the arrangement of Megitsune and also behind Believing from this same latest album, you should really not miss those songs. I'm gonna leave in my next comment where to get more clips from early era safe to react if YT allows me to do it. Meanwhile next suggestion: - Headbanger!! live at Legend 1997, Gans Tomas got that clip under "Head Bangya" title. Hope to see you next time with more BM songs. 🦊🤘🌈

Here's the list of live performance clips usually safe to reacts without any filters so you won't need to rely on live compilations, there might be some exceptions: - Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997, SuMetal 16th Birthday in 2013, they got MV of this and is fun, but live is a blast. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/grR2nKeIr86WdnU.html - Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nZhjapV0mraufIE.html - Megitsune, official MV is my first recommendation but is usually blocked if you don't put filters, so if you want live and safe to react, check it out Budokan 2014. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mrtja6aK0Nampn0.html - Akatsuki Unfinished Version, SuMetal solo again but with only a piano behind special performance at Legend 1997. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pN2jnNGe3brckqM.html - Babymetal Death, live at Legend 1997, this is the big finale, you're gonna blow your mind with this one. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oLiTbMeTzM-mgH0.html - Catch Me If You Can with Kami Band intro live at Budokan 2014. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pM1oiMKblc3UfH0.html - Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014, sometimes the official live MV isn't so friendly so you know what to do. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iNVdksaTy8rWiXk.html - Rondo Of Nightmare, with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, another SuMetal solo but way different than usual happy songs. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/br1yd8x9srS-k3k.html - Doki Doki Morning, official MV, their very first song and MV full of kawaiiness, usually is safe to react so try it, if you want a live performance, this is the first proshot version with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 (YuiMetal and MoaMetal 14th birthday). kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eLmaqZyAvtq7imQ.html - Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j9BdiLR60dfXeYU.html If you want better sound with the Kami Band, then live at Budokan 2014 it is. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e7mqjJyVsZyVY4U.html - Onedari Daisakusen, live at Legend 1997, this is a Black Babymetal song, is a subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z8qEZNyovriZg6M.html - Iine! again official MV hits way better but if you want live, here live at Budokan 2014. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a9lzqbyHs8uoYKs.html - Karate live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got this with a short interview intro. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fLF_f5mnmLPIYpc.html - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official, this one is easily to find but be careful with the blocked by putting some filters just in case. - Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g552ftie286Rp2w.html Here's a song you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR), a helpful place to get watermarked logo clips of the original live version to curve the annoying algo. - GJ! live at Wembley Arena 2016, another Black Babymetal song. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fs1ghdydyM2cdmQ.html This is BMRR short vid to follow instructions and get the spreadsheet with the full list. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p5pgidCFrbnMZJc.html And here's a BM guide (the long one). kzfaq.info/get/bejne/naqemJOp3NTNhJs.html There's a more recent beginners guide at "Briaghh" called "So... What is BabyMetal?" is more short and with some fair update until this year unlike the other one. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b75lqc1ikrnLj2g.htmlsi=icqbG22Ysw0Pc-Ll 🦊🤘

Jake I need to pick your brain a little extra. What filters are you mentioning? I have noticed most of my Beatles videos are getting blocked and Ive seen other reactors releasing videos that I am getting rejected... So teach me a little about that if you can.
@jakemuller8626
@jakemuller8626 7 ай бұрын
@@LegacyStudio Sure, there are certain filters when editing that sometimes helps you to lure the YT algo for being blocked, a watermarked logo over the clip is usually one of the simple filters you can find, Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR) got some clips using those and some more channels but if that isn't enough then you can use some heavy filters such blur or opacity (the more % of intensity helps more), mirror effect also could help as well using a small window for the clip, all of them without altering audio sound. Now if you got audio blocked then things get a little bit worse but not always impossible, slowing or speeding the track (either studio or live version) is one of the way but not the most recommended, some reactors just pause every 5 or 10 seconds (another not recommended bc it gets annoying to watch); cutting or muting those sections sometimes helps but your reaction length become a little bit short, to prevent that some people just insert another clip (usually apologizing for that inconvenient) and following with the next section everytime is needed; another way is using the audio from another safe clip if the length match up with the clip you're watching but that's really hardworking; another tip is just not using the clean output of the clip and record the audio from the speakers you're listening the song, this sacrifice a good audio quality for the viewers but you'll get through the blocked; lastly if none of them work, there's a method called Link&sync or something like that (pardon me) in which you only upload your reaction and let the viewer know where to get the clip you're reacting, countdown to start the moment you play the song and you'll be able to monetize that clip, however this method will not give you so many views bc the majority usually don't like to do that extra effort to watch these types of reactions unless the reactor is really good and got something really interesting. One final method is just upload your clean reaction to another platform and share that in those pay per view for exclusive followers willing to pay you for watching their favorite songs. Anyway hope this help you out a little bit.🦊🤘

Welcome to the wonderful world of happy metal that is BABYMETAL! Most of the truly important information has been or will be given in other comments, so I like to give the fun titles and nicknames given by The ONE (Babymetal’s Fan-base) as well as other (un)important information. BABYMETAL started as an experimental sub-unit of the larger JPop/JRock group Sakura Gakuin. Suzuka Nakamoto\Su-Metal (Vocals and Dance): Angel of Song, Queen Su, Queen of Kawaii, Metal Queen, and Metal Goddess. Before Sakura Gakuin, she performed in a stage production of "The Adventurers" and was a member of the JPop trio, Karen Girls. Fun Fact: Bullfrogs are her Kryptonite Yui Mizuno\Yuimetal (Scream and Dance) Former member since 2018: Angel of Dance, Princess Yui, Tomato Princess, Kawaii Princess and Devourer of Souls (or at least she stares into your soul). Yui had a minor role as a child actor in a Japanese TV Drama before joining Sakura Gakuin. Fun Fact: Yui is tickled by Bullfrogs. ** WARNING ** Do NOT, ever, under any circumstances call her “small”, "smol", “short” or “tiny” (same rule applies to Moametal). Moa Kikuchi\Moametal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Love\Smile, Princess Moa, Kawaii Princess, Super Moa-chan, Maiden of Mischief, and Headmistress of Hedabon. Fun Fact: Loves to troll Su-metal on-stage with little pranks as well as torment Su-metal with Bullfrogs. Momoko Okazaki\Momometal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Joy, Kawaii Princess, Princess Peach, Vampire Slayer, Kabuki Queen. Also a Sakura Gakuin graduate. Was a contestant on the Korean reality survival program "Girls Planet 999" (which thankfully for The ONE, she was eliminated from) and performed in a stage musical production of "Black Butler". Momoko was the only Avenger (see below) to perform in the “10 BABYMETAL Budokan” shows in 2021 and was officially named Momometal and made a permanent member in April 2023. She deserves the spot! Fun Fact: Momoko's father is a popular comedian in Japan known for making dead-pan jokes. Momoko worked very hard to make her way without using his name as a crutch. BLACK BABYMETAL: Yuimetal and Moametal performing as a duet while Su-metal takes a breather. Also known as “MoiMoi”. There are 4 BBM songs (GJ!, Onedari Daiskusen, 4 No Uta\Song 4, and Sis. Anger) some of which Moametal performed solo a few times after Yui's departure. Now that Momometal is a member, we are hoping for more BBM songs with MoMoa! But only the Fox God knows. AVENGERS: 3 Dancers who took turns performing the choreography in Yuimetal’s spot after her departure. They were not official members did not have microphones and were not even named. It was the fans who quickly figured out who they were and you will see them in live performances between 2018 and 2021. They were: Momoko Okazaki (see above). Riho Sayashi: Suzuka’s former rival at Actors School Hiroshima, often competing for the same roles. Former “Ultimate Ace” of the JPop Idol group Morning Musume. Now a solo artist. Kano Fujihara: Former Member of Sakura Gakuin, the school-aged Idol group that BABYMETAL was born out of. Like Suzuka and Moa before her, Kano was Student Council President her last year in Sakura Gakuin. Like Yui, Kano was considered arguably the best dancer in SG during her time there. She is now a member of the Idol group @onefive, which is comprised of 4 Sakura Gakuin graduates (Kano, Momo, Soyo and Gumi). Kano only performed with BABYMETAL in Japan as she could not travel, likely due to her commitments to Sakura Gakuin and the then developing @onefive. We are #notacult. Kitsune Da O! 🤘🦊🤘

Good reaction, thanks and welcome to BABYMETAL! You already have a ton of incredibly good info so I'm not going to bother you by repeating it. So I just wanted to remark a couple of things. First about the "auto tune", people, in general, associate it to a lack of quality in singing overall and this is not the case. Su-metal really can sing, it's a fact. I'm not saying they can't use some pitch correction here and there for the Blu-ray purpose. But the thing is that Nakamoto sounds crazy good even at the venue. Second, they are very diverse musically as they like to mix any music genre with metal. So, always expect the unexpected and prepare to be surprised. 😁 I second 100% Jake's suggestions, btw. (Important note: if you have any suggestion for a song called "BABYMETAL Death" leave it for later (let's say 7 or 8 songs later). 🤭 Enjoy your BABYMETAL journey! 🤘🦊

Welcome & Thanks from Japan, the homeland of BABYMETAL 有難う💛。 This song was performed in their North American tour (29 gigs) this year and is being performed in the ongoing EU/UK tour (20 gigs). BABYMETAL is the best musical phenomenon I have ever experienced in my 68-year-long life. (Before BM, I was a stubborn jazz / funk lover). We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". That is very different point from other Asian countries. The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄

Every time a reactor requests info from BabyMetal fans, I'm like, 'You fool! Do you know what you've done??' XD Seriously, tho, ask and you shall receive. Educating newbies is like our favorite pastime, and a couple of us are so consistent and thorough, you'd think it was their job to drop info. Bless them. *But* you've spent your single a-word accusation. The One hates no word more than 'auto-tune', but you're new here, so we can forgive it this once. If you continue this journey, you'll discover why. Queen Su does not need auto-tune. Welcome to the fox hole. I think you're going to like it here. 🤘🦊🤘

@@LegacyStudio A "little" compression on this is an understatement probably. I know what video you got it from, and it's a compilation using the audio of an internet broadcast of a concert prior to the Blu-ray being released. The audio is basically a flat line from compression. 👍 👍 BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno. Both Moa and Yui were 11 years old All three girls were friends and classmates who attended an idol group (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life (they attended regular school as well) the girls would learn and train at vocals, dancing, public speaking and etiquette, etc., graduate at age 15 and then move onto whatever entertainment path they chose or that suited their talents. Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result. At first Amuse showed no interest and the girls had only financing from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues). Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia). If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to LIVE performance videos as this is where they shine. They have over 60 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more. Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.) Suggest reacting to these HQ Pro Shot videos of LIVE performances for a start. given your background and the fact that you liked this as well as you did, i have to imagine that you'd enjoy the entire rest of this album (entitled "The Other One") as to the auto-tune question: for the official releases of the live videos, there is indeed some autotune done in post. but at the actual show, she seems to free-wheel it mostly (i think she actually sounds better natural .... but then again, i'm an analog kind of guy anyway).
@LegacyStudio

I would assume these days Autotune is probably in many/most songs unless it is rejected by the artist. Its just so easy to work with and can help clean up the subtle stuff. So it wouldn't surprise me if it had some, the other side to that would be that the video may be a bit compressed and that can kinda give an autotune feel too. I'm with you, natural will always call me. But I have used Autotune and seen it do some great stuff so im not a complete "purist" if it leads to a beautiful end result that blesses folks, its a tool :0) Thank you so much for your comment and your knowledge!

@@LegacyStudio Babymetal sometimes use autotune and other vocal effects as a style choice. In some of Babymetal's live videos Sue's vocals are sometimes cleaned up in post, but not usually autotuned, although it does happen. However, in live performances (at the concerts) I don't think they tune the girls at all. At their concerts I have heard the odd missed note or sometimes Su will cut a note short because she is running out of breath (from the constant dancing). There is no doubt they sing live in theur live performances, however, as many bands do, Babymetal use a lot of track, even to the point where sue can be heard harmonizing with herself on track two or three layers deep. It doesn't detract from their shows, Babymetal are one of the best live experiences travelling the world currently.

So Babymetal mix a lot of different genres other than Pop and Metal, and since you are an EDM enthusiast, there are multiple songs Babymetal has with it. I will leave you a list with some of those! - Iine (official MV) - Uki Uki Midnight (live at budokan 2014) - From Dusk Till Dawn (live at budokan 2021) - Metalizm (official MV) - Time Wave (live Pia Arena 2023) - Maya (official live MV) - Da Da Dance (official MV) - Gimme Chocolate (official MV, not the most EDM vibe, but it's their most popular song by a big margin, so it's a must!)

I know you must be overwhelmed by suggestions, but the other current video that I feel most of the One feel blessed to be gifted with is the 2021 performance of From Dusk Til Dawn. Only performed twice in Japan, put on hiatus and bought back by popular demand, it still invokes some debate. Although it's in English, some of the lyrics are hard to pin down, let alone the meanings:). And why has it only been performed three times? We know why their progressive masterpiece Tales Of The Destinies, has been performed so rarely, we were told. The piece is so complex (27 time sig changes), that it would require too much practice time to perform regularly. As for FDTD, some have speculated that that Su's other-Worldly vocals are just too taxing or, Heaven forbid, there was some electronic trickery going on. We have heard that before (Rondo Of Nightmare), but as my BabyMetal years pass by, I've come to feel strongly, it's all Su. After all, I have it on good authority, that The Fox God empowered her to be able to "throw her voice". Well, I'm feeling a little smug with myself as I have named, quite possiby, the three most interesting and thought-provoking of all the BM songs.

In terms of keeping the music clean, you'll be happy to know that Babymetal fits in perfectly. A great many of their songs have positive meanings behind them, including this one. Meanings range from end bullying forever, to stand up and fight for what you believe in. This song is a song that talks about, as far as I can discern, no matter how bad things were in the past, keep smiling and don't let your past bring you down. Things will eventually improve. They use the metaphor of Monochrome as the bad times and in the end you'll see colour again. It was/is believed she is making references to Hiroshima or some other major events that have occurred in the past as she is from Hiroshima and her grandparents were survivors of the bombing so it is quite a personal thing for her. It's my first time watching your channel, so I don't know everything you've reacted to, but there is also another amazing vocalist I'd recommend if you haven't already named Morissette Amon. She's a Filipina singer who is absolutely AMAZING. She's also sung gospel and is very talented. I'd recommend checking out her rendition of Never Enough off the Wish bus, Rise up off the Wish Bus, Could You Be Messiah One Take, and I Wanna Know What Love Is MYX Live Performance. Those are my favorites anyhow. Many other people highly recommend Akin Ka Na Lang off the Wish Bus as well. Anyhow, great reaction. Looking forward to watching you react to more Babymetal as they are a lot of fun. You'll also probably get a kick out of watching them when they were still going to school and the Nendo "tests" their class would go through. Those a good laugh too. These girls are full of personality and are still to this day extremely humble, even though they've performed with the likes of Metallica, SlipKnot, KoRn, Lady Gaga, Rob Halford of Judas Priest, and quite a few other really heavy hitters in the music industry.

@@LegacyStudio One of Babymetal’s goals is to create a fresh take on metal music. While their style have changed and matured as they grew from young teens to now mid-20’s, they have always retained the hard-driving energy, fun, and uplifting message in their music. Even their somber songs carries a message of hope, so you’ll never have to worry about edgy content or any inappropriate language/imagery from Babymetal. I suppose I should mention that my previous comment’s suggestion of “BABYMETAL DEATH” may be the “edgiest” with some strong religious iconography (symbolizing death of “Jpop idol” and ascension to “metal goddess”). Their innocent and smart-alec play on words/meaning here may be mis-interpreted by some western crowds. So I guess be warned if you plan to react to that song lol. Their chants of death is a play on words: Desu (silent u) is Japanese for “I am / we are” so the whole song is them introducing themselves, but in a cute and metal way “BABYMETAL DEATH (Desu)”, = “We are Babymetal”. I didn’t want to spoil anything, but for sake of your channel’s content/audience, may be worth mentioning in advance.

There's a handful of songs that have that EDM feel to it, but monochrome is not one of them. Try "Megitsune music video" it happens to be their best song of all time too (BabyMetal is best live, but if there's one song to watch the music video it's this one). Other popular live shows 1. Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro Budokan live (best live show of the Kami band behind the girls, they're front and center). 2. Pa pa ya live 3. Akatsuki live 4. Headbanger 1997 live 5. Road of Resistance live in Japan 6. BxMxC live 7. Maya live (new album) 8. Mirror mirror live (new album) 9. Metalizm live (new album) 10. Divine attack live (new album) 11. These young women (with one personnel change) have been performing since wait for it...2010. They started as mere babes and were often hit with "their just a gimmick band". Now 13 years later they are still rocking major crowds and with every performance they give 100%. If you continue with Babymetal reactions notice when the videos came out. It can be shocking to see and hear their professionalism at some very young ages. Every Babymetal song is unique and they never stop delivering or growing. Welcome to the Foxhole. You'll learn.

Thanks for this reaction, glad you enjoyed it ! Subbed. 6:25 just so you know, that's not autotune. One of Babymetal's influences is Perfume who do electronic music with J-pop fusion like Babymetal does metal J-pop fusion, they almost exclusively use autotune. I don't know enough about Perfume to recommend any, but their break out song into the mainstream (which Babymetal will probably never really achieve because of their genre) is Perfume - Polyrhythm (Official Music Video). From some 10 years ago. Anyway, I just thought it might fit your wheel house, in part because I don't know your wheel house yet LOL 🙂 Anyway I'm a Babymetal fan, so more Babymetal is always good.

As others have said, this album has a lot of good songs you might like coming from your background, but honestly, their entire discography is really good and all over the place in creativity, as well as a grand story behind all of it. Their first album was composed when these girls were still children so it had a very cute J pop sound with some seriously hard hitting metal, with their next two albums stepping foot into more and more experimental metal music with this one being their fourth album, which is a concept album. Very serious and black and white in it’s themes, while blending their experimental elements in more subtle ways. The name Babymetal is a very appropriate name for who they are. They aren’t quite “metal” in how we are used to in the West, but rather a product of two completely different cultures and music merged into a new entity. The “birth of a new music”, Babymetal. They might not be as prominently known in the States like Metallica or Slipknot, but for a Japanese group with this sound and diversity, it might come to a surprise that they are a very big name in the industry and will headline at festivals and shows. They are very popular, but their popularity sometimes gets masked in the mainstream conversation for some reason. A lot of people know about them in name alone but don’t seriously look into them. If you are curious, it’s probably because they first exploded onto the scene by one of their most popular songs, Gimme Chocolate, which has a lot of shock factor to it. But that was a double edged sword that has led many to dismiss them as a joke sad to say. Most of Babymetal’s critics have probably never heard of this song you are reacting to because it is plain as day that these girls are as serious about this as they come.

BABYMETAL are Japanese. The original members were: Su, Moa, and Yui...but Yui "retired" from the group a while back, and Momo-chan has since stepped in or "earned"/"inherited" her role as one of Inari's Kitsune. I've been to two live shows of BABYMETAL (2018, Austin and 2023, Nasheville). They keep getting better and better! :) And NO, Su-chan doesn't use auto-tune during this song. That's her real voice.

Niiice! Welcome to Babymetal, and great to see a new reactor to their music! These gals are now an international powerhouse fusing J-pop and metal, who started in 2010 when they were 12/11 years old. You’ll find their music to be extensively varied, as Babymetal is not afraid to push the envelope and expertly mix all sorts of genres with metal. Also, Babymetal is 100% a performance group, and their live performance is almost always better than studio / music videos, with a few exceptions. Here are a few suggestions: 1). Metalizm (Live-Babymetal Begins, 2023): You said something about house music? How about House + Arabian Vibes + Metal Elements? 2). iine! (Official music video): EDM + metal + well, it’s a pinata of genres. Also, their 2nd song ever, so, “baby” Babymetal 🤣👌. 3). Road of Resistance (Official / Live-2015): An epic classic speed metal anthem. Watch how a 17 year old commands a sold out crowd of 20K. 4). Brand New Day ft Tim Hansen & Scot LePage of Polyphia (Live-Budokan 2021): A groovy slower jam with metal elements. 5). And perhaps when you are ready: BABYMETAL DEATH (Live-Legend 1997 concert from 2013). This is how a metal queen celebrates her sweet 16th 😂. Your options are limitless with Babymetal. Look forward to more! 🤘🦊

I don't know what to say, this band is my favorite ever!! I was fortunate enough to see them in both Toronto and Vancouver in 2023. This is the most emotional song in their lineup by far!! I definitely preferred the Toronto show. They toured with Jason Richardson and Dethklok. In Toronto, Babymetal performed first so I managed to escape before Dethklok came on, I was not so lucky in Vancouver, lol. I can't even describe how crazy the crowd was in Vancouver, I will never forget it. I flew there just to see Babymetal, I didn't even get a hotel room, I just slept at the airport and flew back to Toronto at 6am. All worth it to see Babymetal twice. Do whatever you have to do and go see them live, you will not regret it. I notice in this video the audience is quite far from the stage, I was so very close to the stage in Toronto, I'm sure I made eye contact with Moa during Headbanger. Keep watching their vids, I can recommend so many songs but it would be nice to see you react to Yava with Kami band intro. Any further Babymetal reaction videos would be great though. Greetings from London, Ontario, Canada and have a great night.

@@LegacyStudio Let's start you off with Gimme Chocolate!. It's basically about them wanting to eat chocolate but fear the weight gain. This video also went viral back in they day that put them on the map. Headbangerrrrr!! is about a girl attending her first metal concert. Doki Doki Morning, which is their first singles release, is about waking up late in the morning and rushing to get ready for school. Megitsune is about not underestimating a woman's power. Ijime, Dame, Zettai is about bullying. So these were coming off of their first album and all are pretty benign as you can tell. The next songs I suggest are Karate (conquering your inner demons/fears), and Road of Resistance LIve in Japan. As I'm sure by now, everyone has said live is better than the music video. But Karate and Megitsune music videos are really good. We hope their fusion of jpop and metal doesn't scare you off too much. Babymetal is my absolute favorite group in my whole life. I listen to BM in some form everyday, and their songs are just so positive. One video you may want to watch is Guide to Babymetal by CrypticMisery. You can find the video channel if you decide to look at the history of the group. Also, a warning about using their videos. Amuse is pretty heavy handed about blocking the videos. So go to Babymetal Reactor's channel for tips and loged videos you can use to react to. Hope to see more Babymetal soon! Great work!

Hi Tim! I've been subscribed to you for a few years now because of your previous tech content. Interesting to see you doing reactions now! BABYMETAL are my favourite band, I just saw them live twice on back-to-back nights in London and it was transcendent. I'm so excited to follow you on your BABYMETAL journey. Live performances are more often than not the way to go for them. I think one exception to that however would be the song Megitsune since I've found with most of the live performances of that one song you don't hear one very important and interesting part. Every BABYMETAL song is different, still a mix of jpop and metal, but different styles and subgenres. Some suggestions I think you could react to as part of your journey into the foxhole 🦊🤘 These are titles of videos on KZfaq: BABYMETAL - Headbanger Live @ Legend 1997 Apocalypse BABYMETAL - Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (OFFICIAL) BABYMETAL - Ijime,Dame,Zettai - Live at Sonisphere 2014,UK (OFFICIAL) BABYMETAL - メギツネ - MEGITSUNE (OFFICIAL) BABYMETAL | Catch Me If You Can (with Kami Band Intro) | LIVE at Budokan Black Night (HQ) BABYMETAL | Rondo of Nightmare (w/ Mischiefs of Metal Gods Intro) | LIVE at Budokan Black Night BABYMETAL - 'YAVA!'「ヤバッ!」(Kami band intro) [LIVE PROSHOT] [SUBTITLED] [4K HQ] Then once you're through a few of those you might be ready for this one: BABYMETAL | BABYMETAL DEATH | LIVE at Legend 1997 (HQ) [Intro subtitled] I wish you all the best in your current endeavors, reacting to BABYMETAL among others (Sabaton, Nightwish...) will certainly bring you some views.

Now you gone and done it. You have opened the door to the East that will not shut. Band-Maid, Nemophila, Hanabie, Gacharic Spin, Love Bites, all full female rock bands from Japan. Hope you are free for about 2 years...Po! 🕊️

My desire is to make KZfaq a full time career, I've invested 15 years so far. I think I can go another 2 at least ;0) Thanks so much for your comment and I look forward to see what happens next!

@@LegacyStudio Since you mentioned anime, I suggest Band-Maid and their OMV "Unleash!!!!!" Band-Maid is with a label that also produces anime, and they have also done several opening and closing themes for anime series.

Honestly if your unfamiliar with j-pop considering that you do dance music you should probably look into the group that they probably don’t exist without, Perfume. They’re really not the same genre but this doesn’t exist without them for a myriad of reasons.

If going for the EDM vibe, why would people suggest Monochrome??? They have so much techno/edm style music, but Monochrome is not one of them. :D

LOL! Well it was a good one, my personal favorites so far are Metalizm and Da Da Dance out of all the ones ive reacted to.

@@LegacyStudio Well, if you're an EDM enjoyer, I'd suggest Headbanger (Night of 15 mix) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iNV3ncWfupqoc2w.html , which is dubstep, iine kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iZyaZLSGyLS6iXU.html, which is an insane blend of a bunch of different genres , and Time Wave kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aq-AksV4zKu0eI0.html which is more synthwave.

If you like Anime and Metal check out "Hanabie. Pardon me i have to go now" I think you will be impressed, They are blowing up and they are on the more heavier side of Japanese hard/metalcore. Great reaction.

Hi again already, just a further suggestion, you wanted an idea on kpop to review, try (g)idle Tomboy, and Lion to start, my preference as they greakvtge kpop usual mould, and some great rap in some songs

I don't think it's a good idea to throw filth when BABYMETAL is reacting. just a rude act

@tereko8641 apologies but he asked for a kpop suggestion, I am an avid fan of babymetal with all their blue ray concerts, so not sure where filth comes in, but certainly nowhere is filth meant or suggested
