I have used Timney triggers on my AR's, including a Smith and Wesson .22 AR that I really enjoyed. I have a Valquartsen trigger group on my 10/22 and it has been outstanding. Breaks consistently very near 2 pounds + - and is very crisp. If I were to build another 10/22 I would probably go with the Timney you have demonstrated here because I really like the idea of multiple trigger location adjustments. I think that idea is great! Nice job on the video.

I don't have the elite but do have the early version, I like it except for the mag release, might be ok for bench shooting but hunting I kept dropping the mag in the woods as it's easy to accidentally bump. I tried varies fixes including installing a heavier spring. Finally I just installed the old mag release on the Timney trigger, no more problems...

Love my Timney 510 trigger for my R700P. I have a Geissele SSA in my FN M4. I've been thinking about getting one of these Timney drop in triggers for my 10/22 Take Down model.

You can't put out a trigger that expensive and not deliver what you promise... especially after your given a second chance. I'll pass. It just goes to show this isn't something they take seriously. Especially when you have companies offering the option of 2 ounce increments in trigger pull weight adjusted at the factory.

Put a Calvin Elite in one of my AR 15s, used them in other rifles & love the different trigger shoes especially the flat. The straight round Olympic Biathlon rotating shoe is my favorite as no matter how you place finger on trigger especially when in a hurry the trigger break feels the same if near the top or bottom and if get too little finger tip or too much and hook the trigger with my finger can roll my finger almost instantly till have correct placement without lifting to move finger or trying to slide finger on a light trigger that could easily send a round downrange when not intending to. That said none of the Calvin Elites measure on any of my three scales within advertised specifications. As per this video mine have been heavy. Sadly for Timney recently saw MidwayUSA had their plated AR Stoner two stage trigger on sale for $79 so ordered one up. The sear area had a casting line with pebble grain finish, the hammer notch was out of square & the corner on one side was slightly chipped. Put it on a Power Custom hammer & sear jig to hone then slightly polish the sear without cutting through but a little of the plating & did not go pass the case hardened surface. Squared up the hammer notch without violating all the plating or any of the case hardening but still had a small corner of hammer notch missing where it was chipped. Swapped in a JP Low Power trigger spring along with a JP 3.5 Enhanced hammer spring and disconnecter spring. Installed an internal over travel adjustment & for under $100 has a lighter pull than my Calvin Elite. Has more take up and does not feel quite as smooth but has under 200 trigger cycles thus far. Please don't grab a file, stone or sandpaper & eyeball your trigger engagements. Buy a good hammer & sear jig once then all you do is buy the adapter for anyone of dozens of trigger groups you may want to tune. Have Timney triggers in several precision bolt rifles I would not trade for their weight in platinum but the Calvin's only redeeming factor is the rotating Olympic Biathlon straight trigger option which once I tune my Calvin (sorry am a DIY guy factory) am sure it's going to do what it needs to do in my 1,000/1,200 yard AR 10.

To will get what you are after with a KIDD trigger. They offer different trigger shoes and it has captured pin system so no more loose housing.

Kidd 2 stage triggers can be changed from a curved to flat trigger. Length of pull and triggle angle can be adjusted, just not left or right.

Plus the trigger pull can be adjusted separately for each stage by the user. I have one and I love it. Set by Kidd at 8 oz takeup, 8 oz letoff, 1 lb total. I also have a Kidd single stage in another 10/22 and it came set right at a very crisp 1 3/4 lbs. Good review, by the way. I was looking at the Timney and this makes me glad I went another way....

Haha I’ve been eyeing this trigger assembly for a while, but I’m nervous with all the extra parts and I usually stray away from gimmicks. I’m actually gonna order the Kidd Single stage. I’ve personally shot a friends .22 with the Kidd single stage and it felt so crisp. I’d much rather pay $300 for the Kidd over and this Timney.

I really love the replacement and adjusting shoe system. It looks nice But im leaning towards the Kidd Single Stage assembly. I just wanted someone to convince me to purchase the Timney Calvin elite. 🤣

As of Feb 2019 the Calvin is @ $299.00 most everywhere except for OpticsPlanet.com where it is advertised @ $269.00 + a 10% off coupon was dangling atop the banner + VIP pricing + free shipping (NO sales tax as of yet but internet shoppers will soon need to get used to paying your state sales tax) brought it down to a more doable / reasonable price. John... We'd like a side by side comparison review of the Jard, Volquartsen, Kidd, Calvin aside the Ruger BX & parts kits for a truly comprehensive 10/22 fire control overview. Thank you for your time and effort on these reviews. Not sure many appreciate the time, effort and expense that goes into producing your product... Thank you.

Thank you!!! I was literally on the verge of clicking on the “purchase” button for a Calvin 10/22 Trigger when I thought that maybe I should do some more research. This was the first video that came up when I searched in KZfaq. I will not be buying the Tinmey Calvin Trigger based on this video. Timmy is a classic name in triggers and marksmanship. I want to love them but this is the second trigger system that I’ve heard of that has not met expectations and I’m not buying the issue about adjustability. It’s really really unfortunate, I would love to see Timmy succeed in but in good conscience I’ll be taking my money to Kidd.

The timney trigger on my old 10/22 crapped out after a very short time. At first it was really light and smooth trigger pull, about 1-1/4 pound pull. With a little time and not that much use it like 4+pound's. Still brakes crisp. Can it be fixed?

I just rebuilt my 1022 trigger with a volquartsen 2.75 -3.00 lb trigger pull because I like to have a tighter feel but not no where near the 7lb factory pull. I just installed them myself . I love it!

Kidd does offer replacement trigger shoes for their two stage triggers. I only know because I swapped the curved blade for a straight blade, plus their trigger blades can be adjusted for length of pull and cant angle. www.coolguyguns.com/KIDD-Two-Stage-Trigger-Unit-Replacement-Trigger-Blades_p_58.html

Uuummm check out brimestone triggers they give you a 2 stage trigger. Yes timminey are out of this world but brimestone gives them a run for their money. I love mine plus they will take in old triggers to do themselves or give you instructions on how to do it yourself.

These triggers are not set right and they know it, false advertising, have tried both single and two stage, they suck, both at least a pond higher than they say they are. First 8 Oz to 1 lb, sent back to get fixed they said it was within standards which was over two pounds, I asked them to send me the same price 1.5 pound trigger they charged me another $85 and this one Is right at 3 pounds. 2 different gun smiths.
