A good plane! It prints sl like crazy but is highly inconsistent due to lack of guns. You covered every aspect very well 🙂

Not true about the acceleration part. It is single handedly the fastest sub 9.0 aircraft in the game, I have flown over 300 missions in it so far and the only thing that can catch up to me is the Yak-38, the Mig-21, Su-7 and if you are (un)lucky, you can maybe see an F-86K that will also catch up to you. Basically, anything with an afterburner may catch up to you, but even then, I found the Sea Vixen to outaccelerate pretty much any subsonic apart from the Yak38. This thing has a ludicrous acceleration, surpassing that of some early supersonics (f100)

Another comment but I just have to share this - after the today's IR missiles update, the Sea Vixen has become a MONSTER of a plane for air assault especially (haven't tested it in AB or RB but I guess it'd be amazing there as well). As someone who got it 2 months ago because I really loved the platform and Red Tops / Radar combination as well as the machine, Ive been playing it but with little success, especially in air assault where I finished in the last positions almost all of the time. Today I finished 4th with a loaded tank for 20m and speed penalty going with it, and armed only with the 4 Red Tops load, was able to get 18 (!) kills single-handedly without any stress or effort. Racked up like 30k SL. Again, something unthinkable for me. To whomever fixed the IR missiles and the Red Top I want to say - I love you! You made WT ALMOST enjoyable again (as the meme goes lol). I just hope Gaijin doesnt nerf or undo the update

Thanks for the detailed and useful review! One of my favourite planes in the game, got it specifically because of how much I liked it, no matter the fact that it has no guns. Absolutely love the Red Tops and their explosive mass, love the radar, love the overall turning rate and certainly love how quickly it climbs. It's a bit inconsistent and one has to get used to the specific way in which it has to attack for the Red Tops to be efficient - i.e. on the side but once side climbing has been mastered it performs well even in the hands of people who aren't that skilled in the higher BRs (like me). All in all a very chill plane to play with, very stylish! Thanks again for reviewing it in-depth!

I bought this thing too, really effective! You can get 20k RP per round without too much of a Lucky round

if you find yourself dogfighting a plane with flares, i find its best to launch at incredibly close range (sub 1 km). At this range the missile doesnt have much time to correct so you need to aim it well but its often enough to get a hit in before they can flare. Not the kind of attack youd ever do normally as normally youd be switching to guns, but its useful here and its another reason why the sea vixen is a unique and interesting plane to fly.

Got it with 90% discount. Far too expensive without it but ok with the discount (should be closer to this price as standard). Good fun plane but suffers with up tiers and not too good 1 v 1. I like the cockpit and often fly, take off and land with cockpit view in realistic.

To add to clarify, this jet isn't fast, but it's not as slow as what might be inferred. I actually struggle more in downtiers in this than uptiers (especially since the frogfoot was raised to 10.0). You can get a mig-15 on your tail very easily and you can't shake it, just hit the deck and outrun it.

One downside to this thing is that it can’t tank any damage AT ALL unless it’s like wing root

I have a suggestion: you should review low tier aircraft too! Like ranks 1-5. I personally would absolutely love to see reviews for aircraft at those ranks

I always find it weird when people call it overpowered. Only time I've died to one was when I wasn't paying attention. And since it's a premium, players tend to get cocky and get into dogfights where they can't fire the missiles.

Ok, so question, How the hell do you lock onto targets so fast, Im locking onto stuff and its taking forever for the circle to go red, and when it does, they have closed the gap and gone well past me? how do i increase my locking speed

The sea vixen is quite fast. I don't think there is a faster jet at 8.7 or even 9.0. It feels slow because it gets uptiered to 9.3 or 9.7 90% of the time. Those BRs have many aircraft that are supersonic or have flares and are immune to the red tops.

Don't mean to be a dick, but what's the deal with the landing difficulty part? The F-104G review said it was hard... I mean, just fishtail with airbrakes, know your vehicles structural limits (gear/flaps break speeds), and shake until you're on the ground safely? It's pretty easy with 3rd person view.

The biggest shame is this is a premium. The Sea Vixen FAW Mk.1 is just 4 Firestreaks and nothing more, nothing less. Too hellish for a standard tech tree plane. The FAW Mk.1 had a prototype that had rockets, bombs, and red tops, basically a slightly worse FAW Mk.2, A great candidate for a premium if the Mk.2 was standard tech tree. If failing that there's also the pilot/ first version had 4 ADEN 30mm's and nothing else, being another one off would've been better for premiums. I hate how Gaijin is very very fond of putting the most ideal standard TT variant of vehicles as premiums and blocking any chance for a standard tech tree counterpart. Regardless of that, I did enjoy this video ignoring the situation of Gaijins implementation of it.
