XIM fools the console into thinking that the mouse and keyboard that you plugged in is a controller

I used to use a XIM3 like 15+ years ago on xbox360 for MW2/MW3 because the consoles didn't support any kind of mouse and keyboard for gameplay. I always used M+KB on PC and absolutely hated controller movement for FPS games. We had a very large group of friends who all used XIM and we all hated the in-game aim assist. It made aiming more difficult actually. We never viewed it as cheating. To us, it was a gaming accessory that allowed us to use mouse and keyboard on consoles because that feature was not available. We didn't use it to 'cheat' - we used it purely for the mouse and keyboard. We played on consoles because all of our IRL friends used Xbox consoles and nobody was PC Gaming back then. Over the last 10 years or so, other products came out copying XIM, like the Cronus among others, which enabled very hacky/cheaty type of features and gained popularity. This ruined the XIM's reputation and everyone hopped on the "They're using XIM, they're cheating!" bandwagon. It did not have that kind of reputation before things like Cronus existed. It was just a gaming peripheral, kind of like those modded controllers you can buy.

I used a xim back in the day before you could do cross play because i'm absolute ass on controller but grew up playing FPS on pc .. i didn't think of it as hacking tbh but thats because there wasn't another option.. since cross play is possible i've just used pc.. yea I know some people will say they can't afford an expensive pc but honestly they just need to make native keyboard support on console so it doesn't matter IMO

Same thing as REWASD on PC. Can use MNK with aim assist but you can also run scripts on it for controller.

This is hacking to say the least. Cronus and Xims have been around since at least 2015. Keyboarding used to ruin competitive cod back before crossplay was added, but the last year or so Microsoft and Sony have been adding updates to their software to detect these devices and not allow you to use it, but they somehow found a workaround.

Xims are way more common on rainbow six siege for console players to basically eliminate recoil on operators. It also allows for MnK to be played on console

XIM can't really auto ban because it registers hardware controller ID. Everything on the KB and Mouse is converted to gamepad/controller methods. Super hard to detect in co.parison to all Chronus. Technically, it is a step up from Titan 2

XIM is what Chronus MAX is fluenced by. Chronus and XIM are KB friendly and controller. Only Chronus MAX does KB and GamePad Native. XIM straight up is a gamepad Emulation. Chronus doesn't do this. IT is what sets them apart. With XIM in use, the software gives you native aimassist, scripts, and native macro support similar to Scuff controllers.

A XIM is a device you plug in to your hardware that makes it to where your keyboard and mouse are being read as a controller, allowing you to get aim assist, it’s also what people use on console for rainbow six siege to use kbm, it’s very hard to detect and to my knowledge PSN is the only thing that bans you for it as they will read it and ban you as soon as you plug it in to your PlayStation console

To clear up zim and zen as of why it’s hard to get banned on it is because of the fact that it picks it up as a “controller” and it isn’t “detectable” but if you get reported and they physically see evidence of you being xim/zen they won’t ban you

Xim essentially translates the aim from controller to mnk so the game detects a controller as input which gives you aim assist. It will limit mouse movement to the controller’s curve but it is very similar to actual mnk with aim hacks

the past 4 days have been nothing but cheaters on rebirth. TIP: when you report, type 'rage hacking' and it seems to get flagged. Had a guy banned within 1 minute of a report last night...first time i seen that since caldera.

If I remember correctly, destiny 2 and cod both had problems with the cronus xim, it was marketed as a device to help disabled players, but all the stuff on it is more like cheats (I believe it had an anti recoil setting as well), its and external device with plugs in between your input device and your pc/console. I saw a couple of videos talking about it some time ago and one of them even went to the site. In short it would give players an unfair advantage. Which is why cod took issue with it I believe.

I don't have a PC to run Warzone, but do have a PS4, and I'm ass at controller. Why couldn't I use Mouse and Keyboard on the PS4, just don't give me aim assist? Or is XIM making your CONSOLE think you still have a controller plugged in?

It makes your MnK be detected as a controller in games so it gives you aim assist. It's not just a cod issue. You can natively plug in a MnK into a current gen console WITHOUT a xim and use it just like a regular MnK on a pc though if a game supports it (like COD). I play on ps5 with my MnK plugged in via usb directly into the console. It's not hacking, but for sure cheating. It used to be a big issue in amateur COD tournaments on gamebattles and stuff back in the day. Maybe even now still but I don’t know, I don't play them anymore.

At the end of the day, cheating by definition is using something that provides an unfair advantage. AA was introduced to make the playing field even between controller and m&k in cross platform. So yes, XIM by definition is cheating and a banable offense in most games.

I started using xim on PC a couple months ago for playing warzone only. I would clean up in MP on m&kb but when I'd switch to warzone I would get demolished on most close to medium range gun fights because the increased TTK . It means you NEED perfect mouse tracking while someone jumps around/or goes prone and their controller aim assist soft locks on to me while I move around. There's a reason why most pros use a controller, the aim assist is op when you have such a high TTK Fyi they are not detectable. You can run the software from your mobile device or just run it on your PC which is what I do. They could update ricochet to detect the software running on PC but then everyone would just use the mobile option (which is what console XIMers do) and I think they know that. I don't think it's an advantage in warzone for someone like me who plays casually with thier kids once in a while, it simply allows me to compete. My avg # of kills on rebirth has probably gone from 2 to 8 maybe. It is, however, a huge advantage in MP where the TTK is half of warzone's. In the end sbmm is the great equalizer. I just end up getting into sweater lobbies which is fine cause I at least stand a chance in closequarter confrontations. Warzone is the only game I use it for because of the insane amount of aa. For COD MP, Battlefield, the finals, I use regular m&kb because I don't feel like I'm at a disadvantage.

a Xim is just a little device that sits between the controller and console but also takes plug ins for a mouse and keyboard. it lets you play gamepad only games with a mouse and keyboard i did not know it had cheats though

You can use mouse and keyboard on console for CoD. I play mouse and keyboard in CoD on my PS4 because CoD supports it. But using mouse and keyboard on consoles DOES NOT give you aim assist.
