Maybe men's ideal women body is a grasshopper all along xD Really cool to see her response to it, and answered it professionally. Would love to hear her (honne) real thoughts though Awww the ending. I hope you can find your Japanese grandma again! Maybe you can ask the manager in that store? They surely have some info of their ex-employees.

Definitely the lady on the left side of the photo for me. Though my ideal type is closer to an athletic type of person. The Tinder story was so depressing to me because of the implications it has. I hope you are able to reconnect with you Japanese Grandma. That was such a bittersweet story. Best of luck.

1.) 1:8 head/body ratio is the basic and most followed proportion by artists all over the world. 2.) Thicc is better 3.) I love eating at Yayoi its one of our go to restaurant here in our country when we're craving for Japanese food. 4.) Asian grandma are the best grandma

1:8 head ratio is used as a rule of thumb in art because it’s pretty easy to track since it’s a whole ratio. Edit: I mean aside from the fact that it is also aesthetically pleasing

I love how Japanese restaurants are affordable. I went to pub with my brother on Friday in Brisbane Australia two pints of Asahi 30 AUD in Tokyo that would be two beers plus a heap of food at an izakaya or kushikatsu in Osaka. Japanese people do it for a living but it's also as a service and to be appreciated. In Australia everybody wants to make a pile of money and that's it.

2:14 Soley judging by body I like the one on the left. Maybe thats just how i was raised in the West but i like meat on the bones and things to hold. If were going to get into biology women store more fat to bear children. She would STILL be below average weight in the US anyway lol

It's not exclusively japanese food but I used to work with a fairly older asian lady in a call center and for some reason, she'd always bring me a lunch from her home cooking. She was really nice and we often had long discussions between incoming calls at work. She said that she always had left overs when she would cook for her parents and she would give me food but it was often a full lunch aside of her own that she would give me unrequested. I guess the best way to express how it felt was "motherly"? Maybe she felt sorry for me because I didn't use to pack big lunches and the food she would bring me was amazing. I remember especially how tasty the rice she would bring was. I guess she used to season her rice with sesame oil. I remember I asked her what was her secret ingredient for making it taste so good but she didn't understood what I meant and probably that using sesame seed was normal to her.

As for the head thing, most western instructional art books defined that 8 heads was the ideal long long long ago. 8 heads tall (roughly 6' for a male, roughly 5'8 for a woman) is seen as heroic and powerful. Ah, nevermind you lightly covered Loomis' book which came out in 1943.

The 8 head thing is thought by historians to date from the greek era. Specifically, they theorize that it was first settled by Polykleitos in his Cannon book.

On the 8head length figure topic, I hanged out a lot with artsy people in my late teens and early 20s and it was a commonly discussed topic. Not as a general "golden rule" but it was certainly kept in mind, some people preferred 7, some 8, but it was interesting to me how they used heads to measure the ratio.
