Tinker Airshow 2023: Blue Angels C-130J "Fat Albert" Demo!

Welcome to the Tinker Airshow 2023!
Filmed on July 1, 2023, this features the US Blue Angels' C-130J Super Hercules, nicknamed "Fat Albert" in its unique demonstration. It took me more than two years to finally see this performance, since back in those days (2021 to be exact) they had issues performing when it first started operating with the team.
Consisting of eight crew members and one C-130J, Fat Albert is critical to the overall mission of the team. The C-130 joined the team in 1970 as the support aircraft. In addition to being the opening attraction for the Blue Angels demonstration, Fat Albert’s primary mission is to transport 35,000 pounds of cargo and roughly 60 Blue Angels team members to every show site throughout the country.

I was involved in evaluating and buying this latest version of Fat Albert from the UK MOD IN 2018. It was a lightly used C-130J that had been sitting in storage for around 15 years. Now, it's a US Marine Aircraft, flown by a Marine crew.

Also, you might want to come to Lincoln, Nebraska, this year, because, the Nebraska Air National Guard is having an Airshow, seven years after their last one, and the Blues are headlining it, and Offutt is co-hosting it, too, along with announcing that they will be having an Airshow, next year, with the Thunderbirds headlining.
