Something comforting I heard from a doctor on YT was that we've been surrounded by sound since we were in the womb. As a fetus we had the sounds of the womb, liquids, heartbeats, swishing etc. Somehow I found that comforting because I had started to feel depressed about the lack of complete silence. There rarely is such a thing, even in nature. Yet, the sounds can be beneficial and even healing. I hope that may help someone else in their journey 🙏🏼💜

I used to live in a flat in Reading, Berkshire. I often struggled to get to sleep at night as one of my neighbours was tunelessly playing an acoustic guitar. When I moved to Cornwall, I heard the same guitar sound when trying to get to sleep, and realised it we me making the sounds. I don't hear that any more, just a continuous high pitched tone. It got worse recently, at the same time as I had ear wax problems. I had hoped the tinnitus would at least get quieter after the earwax was suctioned, but no change so far.

Micro-suction can cause high levels of noise in the ear, it's what did it for me.

madam, my only confusion is, should we pay attention to the tinnitus sound or not? you said we should pay 8 hours of attention to tinnitus sound. But at the same time, you said, when we are scared, we pay attention to the sound and that does not help. please explain?

Hi Afaq, your tinnitus and the sound therapy are two separate things. Sound therapy can be used to mask, distract or desensitise or indeed as part of tinnitus retraining therapy.

I think she’s saying we should always be aware. But controlling how we are aware. When we notice the tinnitus sounds, instead of being upset, we should recognize and gone in on the sound and implement similar sounds in our everyday life. Ultimately our brains will get so used to that outside sound that it will ignore the inside sound.

Honestly. Best way to tune out from Tinnitus is to not watch videos like this. Occupy yourself with normal life and you will naturally ignore it for 80% of the day. Its impossible to ignore it at night when sleeping unfortunately.
