6 ай бұрынWe take our 3.8m tinny and spend 5 nights camping at Whitehaven Beach and other islands in the Whitsunday Island group. We experience conditions not suitable for a small tinny such as rough oceans, strong winds and rain but in the end have the adventure of a life time.

Biggest takeaway for me is get a larger outboard. I run a 4.1 with a 50, not once have I wanted less power, you can always use less throttle. Has got me out of some hairy situations simply with the power and torque I have to keep the boat planning regardless of load. 6 -8 knots max is very poor, the new 4 strokes are bit gutless compared to the old 2 strokes too. Great Vids btw.

Thanks mate. Our tinnie only allows a maximum of a 20hp engine. Also we want something we can easily move between the Ute and boat while on the road other for sure we would get more horsepower. If you look at something like the Quintrex 4.2 its rated at 50 hp. But anything around a 40hp 3 cylinder makes a big difference without having too much size and weight. Funny that your boat is only rated to 20 hp ? Yes keep up the vids, great content.@@OffgridTravelling

They say no question is a silly question. They do have toilet facilities there. They are the pit style.
