What I like about it:
lightweight, sheer coverage; feels comfortable to wear & looks natural
hydrating - doesn't emphasize my dry patches
diverse shade range (~20 shades avail.)
dewy/radiant finish (my preference)
fragrance & oil free w/good ingredients overall
inexpensive ($14-$16 USD depending on retailer)
What I dislike about it:
no SPF...less of an issue since I always wear a separate SPF (My previous beloved tinted moisturizer by NARS contained SPF 30, which was nice for added protection; I explain why this isn't a dealbreaker in the video.)

Yes, Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue tinted moisturizer. It is light, fragrance free, and my pale sensitive skin loves it. And it is not too expensive.

It's not new but I really enjoy the Loreal True Match Nude hyaluronic Tinted Serum. It has a beautiful slight pearl and wears well on its own🙂

@@doktor_mario Hi! I have managed to fade it/lighten it considerably by being extra diligent this past summer with zinc oxide-based sunscreen plus my perennial hat-wearing habit. But it will always be there. I don't mind it terribly... I am open to laser treatment in the future, but I haven't yet gone down that road.. I have hesitations about it. I do believe that laser would completely remove it (and other hyperpigmentation marks).

I LOVE the Colourpop one. It’s the ONLY tint/foundation that feels like nothing on my skin, and looks invisible. I highly recommend going for a shade darker then you think, because it turns lighter as it’s blended out, and a darker shade will be invisible in large pores. I’m light-medium but I wear Medium 12 in Colourpop.

Also I have oily skin, so in humid weather I wear this without a moisturizer and the finish is perfect- natural satin, not dewy.

I use foundation every day because I have social anxiety and that triggers flushes, so I get really red when I’m hot and stressed. Foundation makes me feel more comfortable 😊 you look great!

Thank you so much Jennifer for sharing your tips on skin care. I've been using differin now 8 months. I have had people comment on my skin and are surprised when I say I don't wear foundation. I wear this huda Beauty liquid colour corrector and I always need to cover my eyes. But that's it! I will look into this product because it's always nice as you say to look polished ❤

Hi Jennifer, I am a new subscriber b/c I just started my tretinoin journey at 55 years of age. I have melasma since my twenties. In general, I am happy with my skin if not for melasma spots. I attribute my skin condition to seemingly lifelong sunscreen use. I prefer tinted mineral sunscreens that better protect my melasma prone skin because of iron dioxide (tint), that blocks visible light, in addition to zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. So, I use regular moisturizer and finish with tinted sunscreen. most days, I feel I don’t even need a foundation. However, finding a good matching tinted sunscreen is a quest in itself. For fair skin I would suggest Colorscience (Original or Flex) or Neostrata. You look equally beautiful with or without tinted moisturizer. Thank you for helping people like me go through our skincare journeys. I just started using Cetaphil moisturizer with shea butter after watching your evening routine and I love it.

This looks lovely on you! I will have to try it! I just purchased the Loreal True Match Tinted Serum and I gotta say, I am impressed! The formulation is quite lovely, unlike any foundation or tinted serum I have tried and it is very unique in the finish that it is not dewey to the touch but rather luminous (in a good way) and looks so natural and feels fresh and in my opinion - non existent all day. Honestly, i am surprised as I catch a glimpse throughout the day because it actually keeps looking better as the day wears on. My only reservation on the Loreal True Match Tinted Serum is the hideous packaging with the dropper (but it's not a deal breaker because the product itself is so good), and also the shade range. I was lucky to find a very good match with just one shade first try but I'm certain it would be quite difficult for many others in between shades so that is also odd to me that they would formulate something so incredibly lovely and offer so few shades (its been out for quite some time and they haven't expanded their range thus far) so that's a bummer.

Wow! This woman is looking younger every time I see her. She motivates and inspired me to keep using tretinoin. Even though sometimes I want to give up on it because im not seeing much results like hers. Seeing her looks this good motivates me to keep using it. Her last video was very helpful too she talks about its gonna take time to see results. I guess diet plays a big part too, which she also practice.I'll need to up that.

I think you should try the covergirl bb cream . I use the one from their "clean" line and it's called "Covergirl clean matte bb cream for oily skin". Its oil free, fragrance free ( although the packaging doesn't specify it, it really has no smell" won't clog pores, and suitable for sensitive skin. Although it also says "matte" i''ve found that throughout the day since i wear sunscreen under, it starts becoming more dewy. Loved the vid!

The IT Cosmetics "Your Skin But Better" CC Cream is the only makeup/skincare product I repurchase religiously. I'm probably on tube #5 by now, no other complexion product comes even close for me. I never wear foundation and do not intent on starting, but I watched your video because I love the calmness of your voice. As a student in "prépa" ☺🇫🇷 I often don't get enough sleep and have not cared about it much for the last year and a half, but I might soon start looking for a nice hydrating concealer for my dark circles, that won't crease over moisturizer or sunscreen. I hope the product works well for you as the finish is so beautiful. You mentioned wanting to know our favorite Tinted Moisturizer - My favorite is Alastin HydraTint Pro Mineral Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 36. It is pretty much a one and done product for me. It only comes in one shade. I am light/medium/warm as well and find it to be the perfect tint. However, like yourself, I have used Tretinoin for decades and do like a strong SPF so I normally layer it over a stronger SPF like my favorite ZO Skinhealth"SHEER FLUID BROAD-SPECTRUM SUNSCREEN SPF 50". I like that Alastin contains a proprietary formula which basically cleans out broken collagen so that new collagen can form in its place. It has been a while since I have logged on but I recall your uncle is a dermatologist (?). If my memory is correct, maybe he can get you a sample to try as it is a little on the pricey side. But you do not need much at all - a pea sized amount covers my entire face and it takes me 6 months to use up a tube.

I use Nars radiant longwear foundation and after my moisturizer i only apply one dot of the foundation. I also hate heavy makeup, and it's perfect to cover up the few imperfections without it being heavy and people think I have perfect skin so they don't see foundation at all

I really enjoy the Makeup by Mario Surreal Skin foundation - it's hydrating and lightweight with a lot of skincaring ingredients in it. The only downside is it does take a long time to set, it almost feels like it stays sort of oily/wet/dewy throughout the day. But if I have my hair all pulled back and I want like you said a no makeup makeup day, it works really well and feels very nourishing and hydrating.

Thank you for your wonderful videos! My holy grail, "Traceless: Skin Responsive Tint" by Prescriptives, hasn't been available for some time. It was very dewy and truly sheer while somehow making the skin look perfected. I've been on an exhaustive search for a substitute and I look forward to trying your find. So far, the best I've found is Saie's "Slip Tint" Tinted Moisturizer. It has SPF 35. It is EXTREMELY glowy/shiny but at least I can manage the level of glow with a little powder when I feel like it...better too glowy than too dry/matte in my opinion. I apply it with my fingers. It is very forgiving. I am grateful it doesn't leave a white cast like the Cle de Peau Radiant Fluid Foundation does. The Slip Tint does seem to adjust to perfectly match the skin tone during the application process. For me, it's not quite as good as Prescriptives' Traceless, but it's the only one I've bought that comes close.

I use Colorscience Sunforgettable Total Protection FLEX 50 as a tinted sunscreen as foundation. Unfortunately I have to mix fair and medium tones to achieve my skin color. I love it, I stopped looking for foundation which I don’t use being I n my wiser years, bcuz it makes my wrinkles very noticeable. I will try this tinted sunscreen to apply over ISDIN fotoprotector which has a white cast finished. Love your phrase “ Let’s embrace our imperfections” you are young and so wise! 🤍

I have been using a powder foundation on the daily. Gives a sheer amount of coverage and I don't need to blend it like i would a liquid or cream product so less disruption of my sunscreen layer.

I use IT Cosmetic Oil Free CC Cream. It's fuller foundation, but I only need a teeny amount all over my face. I am similar to you not liking the feeling of full coverage, but enjoy this CC Cream due to the SPF 40 (in addition to my actual SPF). This one looks great though!

Yes I usually use a tinted sunscreen and done. It’s kind of overwhelming for daytime. I really enjoy putting on rms uncover up concealer at night when I don’t need sunscreen. I never quite know what I want to use during the day. Drmtlgy mineral is my current favorite though.

I received a sample size of this years ago, but unfortunately the scent of parfum was so cloying, I could not tolerate it. I remember loving the finish and texture. Shame 😔

I’ve been enjoying the drmtlgy universal tinted sunscreen. Unlike many tinted sunscreens, this one does not have an orange undertone and it’s sheer coverage which I enjoy.

My favorite is Foundation Serum, from the No Makeup line by Perricone MD. I apply it with my fingers and it looks and feels like skin and made with skincare ingredients. I use the whole No Makeup line actually, which is basically all liquid-based products I apply with my fingers: blush, highlighter, eyeshadow. I even love the mascara which has lashcare ingredients, and the lipsticks are so hydrating and gorgeous. Everything looks natural and fresh, feels nourishing, and is super quick and easy to apply with my fingers. It’s expensive but I find it’s worth the cost. I use it for everyday looks and for special events I’ll dab on a slightly darker color of the eyeshadow and lipstick. I can’t go back to regular makeup.

I am going to have to try this product!! I use Urban Decay tinted moisturizer and so far it is the best I have tried for my dry sensitive skin but I am always searching. The Colorpop one is about half the price of the one I use.

Vaseline is really great. Petroleum jelly/petrolatum in general are great, but I just feel like the one from the brand Vaseline is slightly better. I personally don't really wear a foundation or bb cream because I find that they are always too cakey for my liking, and I am a little too lazy to apply anything other than my sunscreen in the morning. When I was overseas and has access to Nyx, people would recommend Nyx's serum concealer though; said the finish is quite natural and good for light spot concealment for redness/hyperpigmentation.

I love the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer with SPF 30 and have used it for over 10 years! I like the original one (more luminous finish) but there is an oil-free version as well (may be more matte). It also 'looks like skin' and has an extremely light feel. That said, after watching this review, I will have to give ColourPop a try - the price is much better and I love that hyaluronic acid is an ingredient. Thanks, Jennifer!

I love Korean bb creams and their cushions. I usually put a drop of moisturizer with a Korean bb cream and it always looks flawless. Plus almost no Korean moisturizer pills so I never run into that problem

Hi Jennifer, nice to have a video of yours in my homepage :) I don't know if it's the camera or lightning but to me it feels like the shade makes you look a bit grey/dull - maybe it's a little too light? Might be different in reality! For myself - I don't enjoy tinted moisturisers/spf - I often find them too shiny/uncomfortable on my skin. They're okay when applied but feel them too much as the time goes by. I love love Mac studio fix. I can't feel it on my skin and it covers well. I use like a tiny amount for the all face and looks incredibly natural while covering redness, marks and uneven tone. Also comes in my perfect shade since they offer so many. I have taken samples from a Mac store and I feel I'll purchase a full size. It will last forever!

Hi my favorite tinted moisturizer/ sunscreen is the "Tower28 SunnyDays SPF 30 Tinted Sunscreen Foundation" it is fragrance free, and eczema safe. I think this one is a really good one!!

Love your videos!! I would recommend the Missha BB cream for a little more coverage if you want… it has spf too!! For the most natural look I like the wet n wild tinted hydrator. That one’s really good too

I love Origins Ginzing tinted moisturizer. It has spf 40, it’s dewy, glowy and no scent.

I bought this after watching your video and really like it! I have a favorite tinted moisturizer by Colorscience, Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield Flex 50 SPF ++++ sunscreen that I love. I am fair and use the lightest one. It’s sheer, natural and can be used around the eyes with no irritation. Goes on white but changes color as you blend. Unfortunately, it’s pricey at $54 🤨. The one you’ve demoed is a great alternative over my SPF 50 sunscreen. Thanks for sharing!❤️

I use the Farm stay Visible Difference Snail BB Cream (SPF50+++) and I love it. It is Korean so you have to order it online but I buy 3 at a time and use it everyday. I don't detect any fragrance when I use it.

Try something like bb cc dd ee creams or products. They are similar to very light base or foundation. Some are from Korea and they are light and cheer. Of course, it can give a somewhat natural look.

HIGHLY recommend the Glossier Skin Perfecting Tint as it is similar to this product and is a great formulation. It is more expensive but worth it for me.

Omg! I have used the primer of that line! It worked well. Also, applying with your fingers is probably one of the best ways to apply foundation in my opinion. Recently I started to use Age 20 tinted sunscreen and am loving it! I’m half Puerto Rican, and finding something that is close to my skin tone is difficult. That sunscreen is one of three first compacts that matched my skin!

Finger application is nice because the natural warmth of the hands helps the product glide smoothly onto my skin. I'm a fan. Half Puerto Rican?! I bet your complexion is beautiful; I can just imagine!!!!

They always make olive and neutral tones orange.. it gets frustrating lol I used to follow you when you were posting videos about using castor oil to help your lashes grow thick and long! I love the Undefined Beauty's R&R Sun Serum SPF 50 Mineral Sunscreen (Water Resistant) as my sunscreen and i found i don't need any foundation. It applies smoothly like a serum with no tugging the skin around my eyes. It has a nice satin finish, it's tint is perfect for my light/medium Asian olive toned skin, great even with two layers of this sunscreen over all of my morning skin care. I, too, hate wearing foundation, and with better skin care it isn't necessary to even wear foundation, it's more natural. You can spot conceal where needed but skin looks luminous! You may find when purchasing this ( btw i order online at CVS and use my 30 or 40% off coupon making it a great deal), which i had to do the three times i bought it, you have to shake it like crazy to mix the serum and tint, this works, shake, shake, shake it! Bottom line, this is my favorite sunscreen.

I use Paula's Choice Clear Ultra-Light Daily Hydrating Fluid with 30 SPF, I struggle alot with acne and it doesnt break me out and it leaves my skin glowy. They also have one for aging skin with SPF 50 which is very similar but abit stronger, but sadly it breaks me out abit so I cant use that anymore, but both are good and I would recommend them. I also use EltaMD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46, they have a tinted and untinted version, I hear the tinted one gives an amazing glow, I personally use the untinted one though cause Im so pale. Both gives glow and very hydrating. I think both of my suggestions are fragrance free, im not 100% sure though but I am also very smell sensitive, and I havent been bothered by them.

I'm looking forward to hearing how it goes with the Colorpop - the price point is great if it works well. I use Typology Serum Teinte in Clair 2 (may work for your skin tone) and like it a lot, I also like their lip oii). Sign up and get it on sale. I have Caliray Free Dreaming serum tint but it smells like chemicals at first (nice finish though). I want to try Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin but I'll ask for a store sample before I buy. I had the Tarte Marcuja and dind't find that to be anything special. Jane Iredale makes a liquid mineral tint that's very lightweight, but I like their Amazing Base mineral powder (SPF) better, especially in the summer.

Hey Jennifer, can you do a skincare video on your thoughts about all the other active ingredients out there except retinoids. Like what else is actually needed and what’s not for tretinoin users. Eg Vit c, aha/bha/pha, peptides.

I wish I could try Color pop cosmetics but they have very high shipping costs to ship to Canada. I guess I have to buy it when I visit the States. Thanks for sharing!
