Pretty neat van! Glad to see you back Josh! Your quality of work on vans is great to see! I would love to see what you would do with a full-size sprinter with standing room. If I could afford it I would definitely pay you...but I don't have that kind of 'scrilla' lol. Anyway, can't wait to see what you get up to next! You should upload more chill videos like your snowskating stuff haha

I have a 2019 Transit Connect Cargo van . I am drooling seeing all the nice electric you have installed here here, and your nice finishing. If I only had someone like you around here. What I have is a makeshift no-build build. It works but.......so, so not perfect.

I like the fact this build is quite a lot different to most. A lot of time has gone into planning the layout and you’ve managed to fit a lot of components into such a small space. Well done! Would be very interesting to hear how the client plans to use the van. Also a review after several months of use to determine if the hidden storage area and toilet proved practical or frustrating. Love the deck concept.

Josh , really like what you have done to the Van. I am an older retired person. I have 2013 Connect and have done some work to the inside , not as much as yours , I want to make the compartment over head but having some trouble with it. So I watch everyone that you do for the videos so I can get more ideas. So thanks, and looking for more videos . So take care and stay safe, healthy . Pat

What a great addition that deck is... with high stools it could be a table, or you could pull your mattress out to star gaze.... It certainly takes up some space, in storage, but I'd think it more than makes up for that.

Consider doing a removable lid for all sections for future builds. Also consider the direction of the opening when using the piano type hinges. In some builds if the opening was opposite it might be easier to access if the area was covered with padding for sleeping. Consider having two part lids for large lids to make access easier. Of course all these suggestions depend on the wants and needs of the customer. Great video of your build.

Wow that deck is just like the one on my transit connect, except for legs as mine uses metal brackets that use 1 inch galvanized pipe. I use mine to back up to a lake and act like a dock to fish from, so the brackets allow me to change the leg length to match terrain. The brackets are just base pads for canopies, and have a eyebolt to lock the pipe in. One on the bottom of each foot and one on the top under the deck and a hole through that one and the deck for the pipe to stick up. I also have a small ladder under the deck that swings out to step down.

Beautiful work. People could even buy a small old house on land and park their van and live in their van if not traveling. For a single person and or a couple this could save a lot of money, if money is coming in that is.

That deck is genius, Josh! What a wonderful idea and space! It could be so much fun to lounge on, or make into a tail gate party table. You are so creative, wow! I'm assuming it did not have any extension glides but just sits on the wood floor? Glides can add 30 lbs more to the build. I bet this deck could be made with aluminum framing and plywood to be lighter. The only downside is that it reduces cargo carrying weight capacity for van overall. However, what a nice feature to have! Love it.

Thanks for the tour, I really like the lay-out & have a question about the deck. Is there room under the deck top between the legs to accommodate the cross member so that it could be permanently installed.
@Josh_Oakes

I think I could have figured out a method to do that but for this build there isn’t room. To be honest I would prefer a steel cross bar but I’m no welder, yet!

Very nice build. Lots of thought and care. I’m interested in your option for the isolator. I will soon move into my van and can’t do one under the hood. I’ll haven’t c a battle born lithium battery, I hope. Do I only need that one part hooked to the battery and plug into the 12v up front when I drive (and unplug when not driving)? Is there a different kind for use with lithium?
