This is not a tutorial, it's just me trying new materials that I have “accidentally bought” while shopping for something else.
The materials: Fimo Soft for the soles, Fimo Leather for the top of the boots and Fimo Liquid for the better adhesion.
I liked how the soles came out - the technique needs some improvement of course, but I am definitely going to use it to make shoe soles for my other dolls.
The leather effect on the shoe tops is nice and pretty believable, how ever at this scale it is prompt to ripping, so in order to use Fimo leather, I must come up with a way to reinforce it.
And I have used tiny magnets in the buckles which were still a bit too big for the scale so next time I have to come up with a different fastening method.
The shoes are removable, and since the polymer clay stays flexible - they are not hard to put on. They are fully water proof, so can work fine for outdoor photo sessions. How ever they are not meant for rough playing - so not for kids.
The conclusion - this experiment was fun, and I see new possibilities where I could use this technique. :)
