This reminded me of when Harvey hit here in Texas and cowboys coming in from other parts of the state to help rescue livestock and private citizens using their boats to go in and rescue stranded smaller animals in areas not expected to flood. The damage suffered by Australians from this flooding makes me cry for them knowing what they’re dealing with. Good bless these vets for coming to the rescue.

I think I heard that the Staffie does not do well around other dogs, and they were afraid of fights at the evac center. They set the yard up so he could get high up and out of the water. The puppy could have been swept away as they evac'd or before. It looks like they had to evac by boat. If he jumped in the swift water, they wouldn't have been able to grab him.

I love the vets’ compassion. 💜💕❤️ Gar looks like he’s winking. I’m m glad his family relates to him. I wish them the very best. 💜💕❤️As a doggy mom, my heart breaks whenever I see pups suffer. I have 2 pups, 1 is my diabetic alert dog, Awesome & the other is my wild child, Epic. My pups are my life, especially Awesome! He has saved my life so many times, I feel I owe him the best life possible, plus! Any owner owes their baby the best but I feel I owe Awesome so much more. He is treated like a King here. Epic has s treated the same but she gets scolded at times for biting his back legs. I got Epic because Awesome has a serious heart murmur. I wanted to train Epic and retire Awesome. I started to train Epic then suffered 2 heart attacks, which made training come to an abrupt halt. My son tries to help with a bit of training but he gets flustered because Epic is so hyper. She is smart but still so puppyish. My dream is to save the dogs in the meat trade and try to train them to become PTSD dogs for veterans who need them. The dogs who can’t be trained will either be adopted out or just become forever residents.

We have Jetts doppledanger, similar age, and identical in looks, except that our Heidi is only a part-bred greyhound. She has a shorter nose than a purebred. Beautiful nature and she will leave a huge hole in our lives when she passes on. She will be our last dog due to our age, unless we foster another dog from the SPCA. We know our canine friends do not live as long as we’d like, and up till now we have always found another needy soul to adopt. A house without a dog is not a home, but hey, wait, we have a little treasure that will outlive us. A gorgeous little Jack Russell girl who is only 2 years old. She will go to our niece when we are unable to care for her. Hopefully we’ll have her,(or she’ll have us) for a few years yet

I've lived in Florida for over six decades. I still get infuriated when people leave pets behind during flooding and hurricanes. There's no excuse for losing a small pet, which could have easily been carried or leashed. And how do you leave a pet you've had for ten years to fend for itself in mud? Because it's big and inconvenient? I saw the miraculous things people did to care for their pets during Katrina and Houston while their own houses were being washed away. This was not exactly a heartwarming story, and I'm sorry I bothered to look at it.

I feel for Chris. My dog Rosie had tumors in her mammory chain and the vet said that there might be more than the ones he found, so he explained the best course would be to remove the entire mammory chain to prevent further spread. She recovered rather quickly for being on the older side and lived on for another 3-4 years.

When they told about the puppy, Coco, I couldn't help but cry. That's just too terrible.

That’s good to know about the THC. I have a prescription for THC for loss of appetite. I knew about many other poisonous foods and plants but this is new to me. Not that I store my drugs carelessly but still….

How could you leave your dog?! I still don't understand how that lady is excusing leaving her dog behind in the flood. And her other dog died in the flood? Yeah I don't think she deserves those dogs

Aww my ginger cat looks similar. Same bad eye that my cat had, due to cats fighting. Luckly no lasting damage and his eye was saved

Lived there for 7 years. Loved it. Saw a lot of spiders but no snakes. Learn about them and you will feel safer: we had spider education in school to learn about the dangerous spiders, the funnel web spider and the red back. Moved to UK and was shocked to see the size of the house spiders. Massive and they love your house. Moved to USA and see a few small ones but luckily nothing like the UK house spiders. I have a genuine fear of spiders. Australia had a lot of dangerous things but leave them alone and learn to live with them. I would go back in a heartbeat!!

I really love watching These we haven’t anything like this here in the Uk,wonderful compassionate vets. I am very impressed by how many vets, clinics and specialists there are in Australia and the knowledge the vets have.
