Altea is a city and municipality located in the province of Alicante, Spain, north of Alicante on the section of Mediterranean coast called the Costa Blanca.
The name of Altea could come from the Greek Althaia, which means "I cure", or from the Arabic word aṭṭaláya (watchtower) that gives rise to the word Talaia in Valencian. Traces have been found in the Iberians, Romans and Muslims.

Thank you again. I believe in the late summer or autumn I will visit my favorite Spain again. I hope the Corona crisis will disappear by then. I know Mallorca, Costa Brava (Calella, LLoret de Mar, Tossa de Mar), Costa del Sol (Benalmadena, Marbella) but I have never been in Costa Blanca. Another great video - Spain government shall pay you guys for your work, your videos are great invitation to the Spain.

My grandma has a apartment here! I’ve been here 4 or 5 times and i love it som much. The pizza restaurant and the tiny houses and don’t forget about all the street cats and the cool church!

Altea is really ideal for retirement life. Lovely. And stray cats also live a very cozy life there, endless food(from cat association) and sunlight, and free cuddles. 😄

I know I'm 3 years off, but. What pizza restaurant you mean? El Italiano, El Castell, Meliton (although it's in Altea La Vella, but I count it as part of Altea)? I just listed the three that I remember from the top of my head atm. El Italiano used to be good, but then the chef or manager changed and it became worse. Meliton and El Italiano are both good. Outside of pizza: Orale Wei is good for mexican, just be prepared for a bit slow things, from my experience. Ryokucha is good for japanese. Siam Beach for thai. Though not in Altea, but right next to it in Albir, there should be a La Tia Juana, which is also good for mexican food.

¡Pero que ganas tan grandes tengo de conocer España! tengo a un amigo viviendo en Altea y me ha contado maravillas de ese lugar. Sólo estoy esperando a que se reabran las fronteras por esto del Covid para poder ir. Saludos desde la Ciudad de México ☺️

Just love this beautiful video.It’s pure escapism to be able to revisit one of my favourite Costa Blanca towns.Just managed to get there at the end of 2019,just pre Covid 19.Let’s hope all the residents and businesses survive .

When things open up again I'd love to see a video for the Javea area! We are planning on moving there soon :) Your videos are so lovely. Since being stuck at home in Shelter in Place I watch these to escape and "travel" in my mind

He estado en Altea varios años y seguiré yendo siempre que pueda, haber si este año podemos, gracias por publicar el vídeo, me ha hecho recordar buenos momentos, Altea es una ciudad muy bonita, de las mas bonitas de España, bajo mi gusto, saludos.

Realmente es un pueblo encantador, gracias por comentar, siempre es alentador saber que gusta lo que hacemos. Estoy subiendo un vídeo cada viernes pero este año va a ser complicado mantener el ritmo. Alteas lovely especially the old town with the beautiful church at the top. The beach has been renovated over the last few years and it's lovely to have a drink on the beach front. Only 15 minutes from benidorm in a taxi. 40 minutes by bus. Well worth a visit. Cant wait to visit again🤗🤗❤️🌅

Yeah totally, we really enjoyed our time in Altea, it's really worth revisiting every summer, or every other season too.

In my opinion. Altea is better than Benidorm. Like I'll only go to benidorm if I want to just go to a La Tia Juana, or the karting there, since Altea doesn't have one.

It was lovely in the 70s and 80s, even the 90s then it all went tourist attraction. Still a good place to visit nonetheless.

Buen video sin casi edición, donde no sale gente como en otros videos cuyo título es Altea, y resulta ser un video donde salen los que graban chupando cámara todo el rato. Quizá se echa en falta algo de música en algún momento de estridencia sonora de lo que parece una ambulancia, y citar los sitios para que la gente los conozca. Pero así natural, sigue siendo mi destino favorito

Gracias por el comentario, me alegro de que le guste. Nuestra idea es que el espectador lo disfrute como si estuviera en el lugar incluyendo el sonido ambiente aunque a veces tengamos algunos sonidos indeseados, personalmente no soporto el de las obras. Y por supuesto, Altea y la costa blanca en general, es un destino al que siempre apetece volver.
