With a few basic materials & tools, you can build this.
Make time = 60 - 90 minutes.
Perfect for Newbie Miniacs.

Do look at my earlier instruction videos to see how to remove and prepare the pieces of your kit. If you are using a WHITE fabric, spray paint the wooden pieces white FIRST, just in case your fabric is a little transparent and the wood colour could show through. Choose thinner fabrics like cotton & polycotton blends.
🔥 HOT TIP🔥 : If you are working with a white fabric, keep your hands and workspace lightly dusted with baby powder to avoid leaving marks on your fabric.

*PVA Glue
*Contact Adhesive Glue
*Gold Leaf Size Glue
*Paper Glue Paste Stick
*Sanding Block / Sandpaper / Nail File
*10mm Double Sided Tape
*Needle & Thread
*3mm Micro Buttons (optional - you CAN do the pin tucking/buttoning effect without buttons)
*White Spray Paint (if you are using white fabric and a furniture touch-up marker or paint for sofa feet)
*Scissors
*200gsm White Card stock - A4 sheet

Part of the reason why I’ve not created any new content is that I got a second supervisor who was meant to be a distraction for the first. Plan backfired and now I can’t get anything done without interference - can’t close them out as it’s an open plan home😣

So long as you take your time and have the correct adhesives and a cotton or poly cotton blend fabric and sharp scissors, you’ll do absolutely fine ☺️👍 Having the correct materials and tools is half the job done 😉 Thanks for watching!

The thumbnail image has a higher exposure so the fabric looks lighter. The actual colour could be described as 'dusky blue' 😊 Thanks for watching!

Thanks! The bottles are available online (eBay etc) and at craft stores, however they will be in stock on my website in a couple of weeks 😊 👍

Can you please tell me the reason for using gold size in your work.

I've found fabric glue can bleed through and discolour fabric (plus it doesn't dry that quickly) whereas gold leaf glue is far less messy which is so important when working in small scales. I will use contact cement in areas that are unseen but so too double sided tape for folds.

I want to do this sofa but confused about the glues. What is Gold Leaf Size glue and Contact Adhesive Glue? I look for what you are using but not having a lot of luck I have E6000, rubber and contact cement and a half dozen other glues. Your glue is not leaching thru the fabric as some of these do. Where can I get or is there a substitute I can get are you in the states? Help please. Or you can send me the sofa and a matching chair please and thank you. :))

Hi Helen ☺️ contact cement is contact adhesive (strong smelling and yellow/amber in colour) so you have the first glue 👍 Gold leaf size is the glue used for gold leaf application- it is milky when wet and when dried, it is clear and still super sticky. I use gold leaf glue as a wet glue may seep through fabric. Thanks for watching!
