I just came upon this video on your channel and I am so happy that I did. My xyron machine has been in my closet for at least three years because of how messy they come out. I was getting ready to donate my xyron. The clear wrap from DT is genius. I saw other people using their die cut machines to help get the adhesive to stay on the carry sheet so there will not be webs. Even used to dust with powder to keep the sticky from the die cut.

The original videos to use your die cutting machines are on my channel. I worked out all the sandwiches for everyone with those 2 videos if you need them. The die cutting machine method works great and they originally saw that on my channel. It’s the method I recommend. In order for it to be successful, I have the process for every machine on my channel. Thank you so much for watching and supporting my small channel. ❤️

U ought my Xyron and was disappointed that the sticky left such a mess on my intricate die cuts so use it only for larger flat die cuts. So glad to see this! Because I like using my Xyron. Thankyou!

Ohmy, this is awesome...I'm running to the Dollar Tree today. I use my Xyron without the machine, using only cartridges to prevent waste. I routinely cut a stash of intricate dies to have them on hand for projects...this way I can prepare them one step further. Great video. New subscriber now!

Another fantastic tutorial video, Missy! Thank you so much for taking the time to research these methods and make this video, I know it is time consuming but is so helpful for your audience! After viewing the video, I can see why cling wrap (which is a logical first attempt at a carrier sheet substitute) doesn't work - it has properties to it which means that the entire sheet has the potential to stick to the die cut and with all that pressure of going through the die cut machine, that would just make it messy to work with, and that problem would be compounded by using Press N'Seal which would be a complete disaster waiting to happen. Wax paper wouldn't work because the excess adhesive wouldn't stick to it and I wonder if parchment paper would have similar results? The cellophane type materials really are the best logical solution and the next best thing to a carrier sheet substitute. Once again, thank you for sharing and BTW, I am subscribed and notified! 💖😊

That cling wrap was really interesting though!😂 I definitely seen why they called it “cling” wrap. Lol It did cling! Finally, success! I found the cello wrap at the Dollar Tree and I just tried it out with my Big Kick. I had previously purchased the purple mat. I will say that you have to be very careful peeling back the plastic with dies that are thin lined. But your trick worked perfectly! I'm not sure if I would buy more adhesive but this trick will let me use up what I have with my large and small xyron machines purchased years and years ago.

@@patriciariddle2997 wonderful! Yeah I’m not a fan of the Xyron’s without a carrier sheet. But some crafters own them, so that’s why I made both tips available. The cling wrap is definitely not the method I recommend in the video. It will work for someone who needs it, but it had a tuff stick to it which is shown in the video. I show so many options in the videos, and any cello will work. I tell which options are the best. Always peel carefully and at an angle. I definitely don’t recommend Xyron’s without a carrier sheet. I dislike them greatly. I’m happy you will be able to use up the rest of your adhesive. ❤️❤️🥰

You’re so welcome! I definitely recommend getting one of the Xyron machines that has the carrier sheet already on it. It just makes things easier and you don’t have to make your own carrier sheet. I've only had the tiny purple Xyron sticker maker and, yes, those webs drive me crazy lol! I came upon a hack to get rid of the webs by actually separating/removing the gummed up carrier sheet from the diecut and gently going over the diecut by dabbing it to pick up the webs, but like I said, it's for the small Xyron. For bigger die cuts, your hacks I'm sure save the day!❤

Yes! This is the only way to do super intricate die cuts fast. If you go view the other Xyron videos I made you will see how easy this can work with all die cutting machines. I figured out the sandwiches for each machine and what you need for each. It’s easy for even tiny die cuts too. ❤️

Oh my I used the window film on a previous home we had and now moved into one I don’t need it for. Thank you for this technique. I don’t have a Xyron machine anymore because like a lot of people I threw it away. I do have micro dot sheets and some Stix2 sheets so I’m going to give those a try before I buy another Xyron just to use them up.

Hello Jeanne, If you ever do get a Xyron make sure it’s one of the ones with a carrier sheet on it that way you don’t have to use the methods described in this video. If you go to my channel and find the Xyron videos for the manual machines and also the electric Gemini video, you will see the easy process and each sandwich for the die cutting machines for this hack to work. I haven’t got to try the glue dots yet but I’m glad to hear those are working for you! 🥰 If you get the chance go check out those other videos I was telling you about. You won’t be disappointed. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

They also make the 5”Xyron Creative Station Lite that is smaller. You can use 9” and 5” adhesive cartridges in the 9” creative station too. OMG I was so frustrated with my Xyron 5” w/o carrier sheet-that I had only used it once since I received it as a Christmas gift over 5 years ago… I saw this video yesterday and pulled it out. I used cellophane from a sticker package and viola I am going to need more get adhesive. Thank you so much, will be checking out more of your tips now!

Thank you. I love press and seal! Someone said to use it for die cutting.... never ever do that! It gummed up my plates and when i turned them, the gunk was on them and i did not realize it. It left residue in my machine...

I’ve actually used press and seal when doing multiple layers of card stock, only I use a magic mat and I never turn my plates. Never had a problem using it. I could see it sticking to the plastic plates really bad and getting gummy while turning the plates. I haven’t gotten any residue on my magic mat. Sticky side always goes down on top the cardstock onto the magic mat and the sticky side never touches my clear plastic plate. 🙂❤️❤️❤️

Hey Emilie, Did you watch my other videos on using this with the manual or electric machines? If your Xyron has a carrier sheet I promise it’s so easy to use! It truly a game changer. It’s really not hard and you can use this method with any of the die cut machines if you watch those other videos on my channel. It’s really amazing an awesome! The machines that already have a carrier sheet are awesome!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Awesome, thanks for watching Vaye! Yes, you could also use the bag that it came in once you’re not using it anymore for the bag storage. Also press n seal works too if you put the tacky part AWAY from the die cut and use the smooth side against the die cut. I hope you enjoy all the the tips, hacks and crafting videos on my channel. Just watched this again. You're good at explaining. Just wondering if you had ever used just a silicone sheet to get the extra glue off? That way you could maybe eliminate using the cello wrap? I have several of those intricate plate dies which I love using on cards.

Thank you so much Sharon. ❤️ It might get really messy trying to use anything else. My best suggestion would be to save your cello packaging scraps from packaging and use those. That way you’re using the waste from packaging. It would be the best way to repurpose it without having to buy cello wrap. ❤️❤️🤗🤗

WoW! Does that ever work good! May I give a tip? That long tube/roll of cellophane? Before unwrapping it I cut the whole tube into 6 inch lengths. That way I only need to unwrap one of my rolls at a time. Easier to store and use. Thanks so much for this video tip!

Dollar tree has that window film, and you could literally pre cut a huge stack of the plate size so youalway had some ready. Like you said at the beginning, haveing a top peel off on the sticker sheet you still end up with webs.

If you go and watch my first Xyron videos it shows you the FULL process on how to get rid of the webs and proper sandwiches to make this actually work. You will have no webs if you follow my methods exactly. I recommend the cello wrap at the dollar tree if your Xyron doesn’t already have a carrier sheet.🙂

After I pull the clear part off the top of my die after running it through the Xyron machine, I rub across the top where the "webs" are with my fingers then peel off the bottom white paper. It works good for me but I will definitely try this. Or ... just run it through the embossing machine with the original carrier sheet still attached. Maybe ... ? Thankx!

Yeah they definitely need to do that! It made me ruin my last die cuts from that beautiful pink pearl cardstock!😢 I buy some of my paper from the UK, so that paper is so precious to me. If I would have had warning lines on the end of the Xyron roll, I could have used a different cardstock at the end of the roll. Hopefully I have another pack of that beautiful paper in storage. ❤️❤️❤️

What about applying glitter to what ever you used are the carrier sheet afterwards? I think it would work and give surprising results!
